I love the way that the Natasha and Samantha characters are truly over it, and they have moved on. It makes them the true winners in this series.

What i did really miss in this series.. is Miranda. Yes. Miranda!!! I dont even know what the hell they did with the character in Just like that. It was not Miranda Hobbes at all. And of course Samantha
I thought it was very realistic because some people when they get older if they have repressed a lot of things start to act out in ways that seem out of character because it's just things they haven't let people see about themselves and they get to a point in their lives were they just don't want to hide it anymore. Odd as that sounds.

The title of the second episode "Little black dress" is a reference to season 2 episode 5 "Four women and a funeral" pointing to the fact the episode is the funeral of BIg:

It's interesting that people saw the date night ritual in the opening episode of And Just Like That as something beautiful, because I immediately took that as a sign that Big was about to leave. I did catch that reference to Sex the and the City season four finale, so I didn't expect death, but I thought maybe he would have headed to the Hamptons without Carrie which might have given us immediate drama to look forward to. I NEVER would have guessed it was really a foreshadowing of Big leaving life in general.

You know you're a true fan when you immediately recognized all the references/easter eggs when you first watched AJLT. I would see certain dresses and be like 'thats the outfit she wore in that scene....'
I thought when we saw the Smith Bar reference, that Samantha's ex was going to end up owning the bar and make a brief appearance LOL .
I only now realised that Carrie was/still is truly a woman child.
I definitely caught all of these!!! I have watched sex and the city more times than I can count!!!! I actually like the series...in my 20s they showed me what is was like in your 30s in regards to love and friendship and now in my 30s showing me what 50s can be....this show means a lot to me!

Like you, I have watched the original series many times but I am really struggling with the reboot. When I was in my 30s, I was inspired by the women but now I am actually in my 50s, I hope I am not the tone deaf, dissatisfied 50 something woman portrayed in AJLT. I wish they’d just left it where it was.

Not a fan of the "And Just Like That" Despise the Chez character and the story line you have with her and Miranda. Miranda and Steves journey was just as strong as Big and Carrie. You have turned Miranda into a weed smoking, alcoholic, neurotic lesbian. The story is Miranda's not Cynthia's. The kitchen scene with these 2 was absolutely disgusting, considering her best friend in in the next room sleeping after surgery and mourning the loss of her husband. This has ruined SITC legacy.
What I find irritating about this part in the sitc continuation, is going back to the first movie and how Miranda gave Steve so much crap for cheating on her and blamed him the whole time I feel bad for Steve and all of this, and I don't really understand how she can just flip and change portions of herself. All around poor writing on the show writers part
I agree, I disliked the whole Miranda flip - she was such a strong woman character in SATC and now, geez....also, the way they portrayed "50's" as "old folks aches and pains" was awful, I liked how they had a 50yo Samantha strutting her stuff before, now just a group of old ladies?...
I literally kept screaming at my phone during this video saying, what about the blue shoes, the shoes!!! Then they ended up being in the number one spot. My faith in Ms Mojo is restored.

I'm for the most part enjoying the reboot. Yes, it's not as much fun, but I love these characters, and I'm so happy to be able to be a part of their journey. The one thing I am stuck on right now is Aidan Shaw. John Corbett had confirmed he was going to be a part of it, and now we're 8 episodes into a 10 part series, and he is nowhere to be found. I am disappointed about that.
What EXACTLY are you enjoying? These characters are NOTHING like they used to be. AJLT is the WORST show ever.

I can't believe Carrie's Paris opera gown didn't make the list. The dress she says she only wore twice. It popped up in an episode when Rock was sorting her clothes and later in the episode she wears it one more time.
Sorry but her "updated" Tutu outfit wasn't it. It looked like something a Princess obsessed 5 year old girl would wear at a Birthday party.
That is how "AJLT" is perceived by me ... Carrie especially, has not grown or evolved. The little that I have forced myself to watch has been sad - I think the lowest so far has been the Big/Carrie masturbation scene.

I am upset at how they wrote Willie Garson’s Stanford out. It went against the character, his marriage, and what Willie brought to the series and movies. I am not watching anymore. I understand that he passed away but they could have been more creative with his character
What could they have done? His death happened, and obviously they couldn't shoot any additional scenes with him in them. And they weren't going to kill the character off, so soon after Carrie lost Big.
How would you have written him out?

They wrote that he does BEFORE the controversy with Chris Noth- I think it’s horrible that they cut his scenes because he was ACCUSED of something- absolutely zero proof- and now they are punishing the fans by cutting his flashbacks out of the series, it’s ridiculous

If you want more info about the actual timeline and evidence the Hollywood Reporter story is a good place to start. Noth has had accusations against him for years. One of the women required stitches. It's very, very, VERY hard to prove a powerful man guilty of this type of thing. Systemic issues etc.

The scene where Big is having heart attack. Any normal person would call 911 and start chest compressions (they guide you through it on the phone.) But not Carrie, she just hugs and cries!

Thank you! You are the FIRST channel that had anything even closely positive to say about the show's return. YES!! Times change and so do we! The program had its debut in 1998 (24 years ago), with the series finale in 2004 (18 years ago)! Time passes, people become ill from lifestyle choices and/or the genetic roll of the dice, and they DIE. The show brought provocative subjects for the the four of them to work through, deal with and LEARN from (sometimes)! Newer issues; STILL provocative; STILL working through THIS new "normal"--yet, I still remember Carrie meeting a very old lady sitting at the counter of a restaurant eating her chocolate ice cream topped with Lithium without an apparent care in the world!
Yes, time passes. I love SATC but the new show is just badly written, that's the truth. The extreme "wokeness" of it seems forced and the representation of minorities is tokenism not an exploration of the issues involved. Charlotte was worried about how many POC were at her dinner party??? Who does that! Its a trainwreck

I think out of the entire series...and both movies...my most favorite moment is after their wedding as City Hall...when he tells asks her about the girls..."...which is why I called them!"
I laid here in bed watching the first episode and I swear that my mouth hung open is disbelief for a solid 2 minutes when she said that Big died. Because they made a point of telling us that it was now about the characters in their 50s, I knew he was going to have a heart attack because of the way they filmed the 5 minutes or so before it happened but I didn’t think he was going to die ffs. I read somewhere that that was going to be a plot line in the 3rd movie if there had been one made.
I really thought they’d kill off Samantha by he cancer.
A reporter leaked that yrs ago after Kim turned down a 3rd movie, which is why I’ve always maintained that we didn’t need a 3rd movie if Carrie was just going to be single again🙄

Am i the only person who remembered Big was married before Natasha. On Season 1 Episode 8 Titled " Three's a Crowd" when they explore threesomes, Big tells Carrie he had a threesome with his Ex Wife. && then Carrie goes and finds the ex wife, has a "interview" with the 1st ex wife.
I mean it’s definitely mentioned. It’s one of his hang ups in the first movie when Carrie is making their wedding bigger than initially planned. “This is my third marriage-how do you think that makes me look?”

1. When Miranda in AJLT has an argumend with Carrie about moving to LA Carrie says: "what are you gonna do all day in LA?! Sit in an audience and laugh?"
In SATC the argument is the other way around an Miranda asks Carrie the questions about moving to Paris with the Russian: "What are your going to do all day in Paris? Eat croissant?"
2. When Carrie is painting the house in AJLT she loses the wedding ring of Big. She asks Steve for help and her question is: "Do you know plumbing?"
When he and Miranda moves to Brooklyn in SATC the book Plumbing 1.0 or something like that is on the bed/Steve is reading that when Miranda comes home from a diner and is zoomed in to.
I actually am really surprised they didn’t mention the Miranda / Carrie scene! I really appreciated that throwback and I’m glad Miranda went to LA anyway.
I can’t judge her; as Samantha Jones would say, “not my style.” But I enjoyed seeing the juxtaposition of how moving 3000 miles away for someone in your 50s can be very different from doing it in your 30s and ultimately I do hope they support Miranda. It doesn’t look like we’re getting this from the previews, but I’d love to see the whole gang meet up in LA for some LA based episodes. New York is a character on the show, but there’s something so laid back about LA life that’s so polar opposite from New York, and I’m really enjoying seeing Miranda in that environment.

I haven't watched this yet, reading comments for spoilers. Was curious about Steve being in this one. So in season 1 Miranda kisses a girl and says no definitely straight and the girl replies yeah while they ride the elevator. Wonder what changed for her to get here. Also who did Carrie sell the house to? Why would she sell the apartment to whoever it was as well? And what happened to Samantha? Is she dead or just living her life in LA still?
Oops, should have taken the spoiler alert seriously! Really though, may sound horrible, but I'd rather they kill Big than have them break up again. Makes sense they want Carrie to have a dating storyline, so I figured they'd need Big out of the picture somehow, and I guess I prefer him this way. Sad though.

What I really notice about the coolest people is that they make mistakes (like we all do), but don't waste time explaining, covering up or diverting desperately to a different subject. They usually just laugh it off or ask confidently, "what should I do now?". Including others into your charmed circle by asking advice or sharing a confidence makes people feel warm, included and confident. Anyone who can inspire a person with those three gifts of trust usually has no trouble attracting anyone and everyone. It's a magnet that no one usually wants to resist. Who doesn't want to feel good?

You missed the music; the music that was played in the first movie- when Samantha tries desperately not to cheat on Smith with their Neighbor: flash to Carrie texting her, telling her she mentioned the diaphragm story (again, another missed “Easter egg” from the original show SATC) on her podcast. 😉 Well, that exact same music is playing.
Clever. If you notice the earlier episodes of AJLT (particularly 1 - 4) recycle quite a lot of the incidental music from the two films.

I like it too. I can see where some of the critisism is coming from, but I'm hoping that they'll iron out the issues. Che is my favourite character. I hop that they get a better storyline later on.

There's a lot more hidden gems. I pount them out every episode. The guy that Carrie takes to urgent care was David the Jewish guy that the one mother tries to hook Charlotte up with.
Then the father of Sema is the busboy Samantha kissed.
Don't forget that they reference a lot of the musical score from the first movie.
Samantha was always the smartest character…and obviously still is! This reboot is depressing and a shadow of the original series. So disappointed.

You know, l read so many comments from people picking the revival apart. If you rewatch the original show you will find many weak and ridiculous plot lines and cringe worthy situations. It was not perfect either. I'm not mad at the revival. I will continue to give it a chance and keep watching 🤷♀️

Thanks so much for this positive video. I picked up on most of the Easter Eggs. Yeah, AJLT has it's flaws, but it's a television show, not "Gone with the Wind." For better or for worse, I'm enjoying this series for the most part. Episode #7 was my favorite so far. And from the previews of Episode 8, I see another big Easter Egg. (I won't spoil it for those who haven't watched yet, but it looks like a good one).
Still waiting to eventually see a Family Matters list but keep up the amazing content
Watching Carrie with Susan Sharon from season 2 made me smile so much😊... And then you cut to Carrie in that severe bun at Big's funeral, and my smile vanished☹. Sums up AJLT.

The wasn’t the only time Susan Sharon was on SATC- she was in an episode where she sees Carrie with Aiden; after they’re engaged: and she seems to know Aiden very well.

@@ParuAp In the original SATC when she finds out Big is getting married to Natasha she says "I hope you and NAJINSKY are very happy together". She was mocking Natashas name by calling her Naginsky and now they used that as Natasha's surname.

The problem is That this list was made, there are hundreds of GREAT things about “And Just Like That”
And when Miranda asks Carrie is she's going to sit around in Paris and eat Croissant. Carrie says something similar to Miranda when she goes to LA.
2 Things:
-It pissed me off that Carrie didn’t sell some of those pieces in her closet when she was low on $ and almost lost the apartment.
-For Carrie to be a socialite/known columnist, I’m surprised she wasn’t gifted a lot of clothing/accessories and was going into these stores paying full price.
Did it occur to Carrie to try, I don't know *CPR* instead of clutching his lifeless body?
