I have three Musikraft necks now--one Tele (mahogany/rosewood), and two Strat necks with lefty headstocks (maple/maple and maple/rosewood). Got bone nuts for all of them, finished very well. Musikraft's quality is outstanding.
I am loving this neck. That 10/56 V profile is very nice. It is a lot softer than I thought it would be but it fits my hand perfectly. I can't wait to get it all set up today. I think I will just buy a new Musikraft neck from now on instead of getting a refret on a neck. They are that good.
Fenders are such wonderful electric guitars. Where else can you order parts from random companies, screw it all together in a day and it sounds amazing. Actually, I'm just about to plug it in for the first time. I'm going to do a little video soon on how I chose the tone cap by trying several values and types. That Fender Custom Shop 10/56 V profile is now my favorite. Now I see why it is one of their most popular profiles. And, it weighs in at 7 lbs. 4 oz. I was trying to keep the guitar light. You can depend on Musikraft to get it right every time. I never have to adjust the truss rod or anything. Just screw on and play.
Thank you. I think this could end up being my best Strat. Who would have thought? It is weighing in at 7 lbs. 4 oz. I got it all wired up. I didn't like the size of the pickguard screws I got from Warmoth so I ordered some authentic Fender screws from Sweetwater. Other than that, I just need to put on a set of strings, string tree, setup, then decide on which tone cap I want to use.
@@millstap Great ! I also buy the Genuine Fender screws but I think I might enlarge the pickguard holes with a special bit cause they are wrong imo . They should sink in more.
@@lousekoya1803 Hmm. My Fender pickgaurd has pretty deep countersinks but, yes, the screws still stick up a little. The Warmoth screw heads were more flush but they didn’t completely fill the countersinks so they looked wrong.
@@millstap Oh I see ! Thanks for sharing ! Curious on the difference of the countersink between a new one and your 1964 you have ? I had a 1958 that I stupidly sold years ago and I think the screws werte smaller if my memory serves right or the countersink was deeper. Not sure .
Well, I don't know anymore. I ordered some from www.guitardecals.co.uk/ way back on Oct. 20th and still have not received them. I'm getting ready to try to get a refund. They have a very strange ordering process too. You pay before you even know what you are ordering. I think I have to go back to www.luthierdecals.com/ in Canada. They seemed to be fine.
You should check out Parklane Guitars necks, it’s the guy that used to do the fretwork at Musikraft. They have a lot of the same customization options.
I just watched your video about how vintage fret in stainless steel is good. Now, how do you think? Do you still prefer vintage small one? Or did you change your mind? I'm planning to order Musikraft neck. Thanks.
It really depends on your playing style. Since this one has mediums for my arthritic fingers, they do help a little but there are tradeoffs. The edges of the frets are more pronounce of course when you are sliding up and down the neck. The small frets a barely noticeable are are super fast if you like to slide up and down the neck quickly like Hendrix did. I did have a problem bending the notes out of tune with the medium frets and that goes away with the small frets. With my hands, it's definitely more work to bend strings with the small frets but if you have strong fingers, it shouldn't bother you too much. I didn't get as much relief for bending that I thought I would. That is more related to string gauge. I think it's good to have both. I now have two Strats with small frets and the other three are medium to medium tall. The small frets are faster when hammering on and moving from string to string. I'm glad I have both. SS frets are a must with the small frets because nickel will wear out too quickly. I hope this helps.
@@zitnbit Yes, I have been playing my new Partscaster with the medium frets ever since I built it a six weeks ago. I just pickup up my left handed Strat with the small frets and I still prefer it even though it's a little harder to bend. After playing it, I decided to lower the action on my medium frets just a hair because it felt pretty slow to me. Small frets have their advantages for sure. That is probably why Fender used them.
Yes, I have compared but they don't have near the choices/options that Musikraft has. I was never able to find the option of a maple cap fingerboard (Lam) but maybe I just missed it.
Warmoth makes very nice necks also but they are NOT cheaper. The final price of Millstap's neck reflects many options that he chose to get...and it's true Musikraft offers more options.

I was hoping it would have a normal headstock. 6105s come on the Music Man Axis, my favorite size.
Love this. Thank you as always. I think Musikraft should be ready to do your signature neck🙂

cool neck , would love to hear the finished strat especially those cap options & what they do :)
yes, I will try to do a little video of the jig I rig up to and how all the caps in my bag sound.
Wow ! I satop everything I do when I see a new video o yours ! lol
Cheers from Quebec !

Sounds like Jescar FW47095, same measuements you mentioned
Yes. I didn't check their site. Do they have them in SS too.
Great videos! Who do you recommend repro decals in Europe?

I checked them out and they really need to fix their website. It looks like the custom neck order option was down.

Looks sharp !! :)
Nice!!!!🎸🎸
is it lightly rolled by them
Yes, semi-rolled. I would like to try the full rolled edges some day too.
I got the same profile neck with the truss rod at the nut, so much easier
Yes, it would be a lot more convenient. Is it like the Fender bullet truss rod. I need to go look on the Musikraft site.
Warmoth much cheaper. Compare
