Awesome video Tim. When it comes to beautiful pentatonic phrasing, Band of Gypsies is an Encyclopedia of ideas. You can tell SRV, Robin Trower, Clark Jr, Ernie Isley, John Frusciante and John Mayer were totally influenced by that album. Hendrix was still 26 yrs old, what genius to say the least. 😮
Yes I saw this like 2 hrs after he posted this and this was a huge endorsement. Props to team Pedal Pawn. Chris is awesome and answers every email or comment on their channels. Personal customer service is a great way to do business. Pedal pawn great company great people. The product are world class.
Thanks for the great vid. For any questions about Jimi's rig, Roger Meyer IS the go-to source. Jimi himself said "Roger Meyer is the secret of my sound". His Octavia is really expensive BUT I have yet to hear anything less expensive that delivers the same intensity. The other "secret of Jimi's sound".... amp volume!! If anything, besides his acrobatics he was known for, long before going to England, it was how friggin LOUD he played, usually through a Fender Twin Reverb. I personally believe the panicked responses to his volume levels is the basis of his song, "Manic DepressionS". The first argument he had with Chas Chandler recording the first single was being told to TURN DOWN! But I will always say.. THAT is where "Jimi's SOUNDS" live.... and you will STILL get the same resistance, from the very people that claim they want to hear "Hendrix".... "a frustrating mess!" ??? Listen to the controlled feedback when he's playing CLEAN on BoG's Message OF Love... at "find yourself first"... no blackbox is going to do that. You need moving air-mass for a solid-body to interact like that. Hendrix didn't use fuzz nearly as much as players assume. He left his amp(s) wide open and controlled the clarity with the guitar volume knob, as far as I have determined. I used his exact setup, minus the Octavia (and the 2 additional stacks), for years during the 1970's. After all these decades, nothing truly *replicates* it faithfully
Awesome Tone, I have a Roger Mayer Octavia, want to save up for the Chicago Iron Tycobrahe Octavia.... Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan both pedals.
Im using your white fuzz pedal with your blue Octone pedal and it sounds crazy good 😮😮i finally found them, remember last time we talked i didn't have any , now I got 2 of your pedals, get investment. Thanks 👍
Notice in the maui rainbow brige show his guitar lead is going into univibe first, no one talks about this, ive been doing this for decades, sounds awsome.
I have the Roger Mayer Octavia pedal but unfortunately it sat underwater in my car for a couple days after a flood. I recently got the MXR Billy Gibbons Octavio because it was the closest Roger Mayer sounding pedal that I could find. An odd thing about the RM pedal is that a friend of mine also got one but his pedal sounded like a tin can and my pedal was very balls to the wall! Same exact model, 2 different tones.
I'm looking for a univibe pedal that doesn't affect the sound, or rather, as natural as possible, because some change the sound completely, is this univibe what I'm looking for?
Ya reckon this fella knows what he’s on about 🤔 🤪😉 High praise from a high priest of guitar. Well done guys! These pedals really have a high end unique sound! Classics for the future! 👍🇦🇺

i like what you said about keeping the boost off on the octone and using a gain pedal after it. really helps with the tone

Tim you are the man!

I’ve been getting awesome BOG vibes with my BMF 915 vibe and my King Tone Octaland🤘 love this video Tim!🎸
That Octavia sounds so cool. It's like an octaver had a child with a ring mod.
Those pedals sound so good

That guitar is rad. I listen to it weekly! Have since I heard it! Late nineties. I am 41! Toneeeeeeee for Daysssssss!
I used to not dig B.O.G. I dunno what I was thinking! Deep dive on Hendrix and u will find new stuff. Thanks Tim.
Which amp did you use?
Pedal Pawn son, I want one!
Do you have to have the gypsy cranked to get unity volume?
I'm looking for a univibe pedal that doesn't affect the sound, or rather, as natural as possible, because some change the sound completely, is this univibe what I'm looking for?
Ok Pedal Pawn is the REAL DEAL. Now 👁 gotta re-think my future pedal board.
EPIC......By the way woaw that's a lot of H9s
Sick 10:27
Yeah bro
It’s funny how the Bridge of Sighs riff ALWAYS gets played when people use the Uni-vibe :)
I'm pretty sure you could plug into a toaster and it would sound awesome.
The edits make it hard to watch
NAILED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
