that bit is so powerful i get chills… even though we all knew it wasn’t the real zelda (and depending on how far you had progressed in the story, logically link should know too), i like to imagine this chase as link being so desperate to be with her again that he abandons all logic and reason to chase after even a fleeting false scrap of her
Agree. Saw the moblin, backed up to the doorway but got hit by the keese that I didn’t react to in time, and then the moblin yeeted me off the castle. The fall didn’t kill me, but the effort it took to get back up there was embarrassing.
I love this theme it suits the castle so well. In BOTW hope coule still be heard because the reason why link was in the castle is to crush evil and we can hear that duality between the evil of GANON and the light of link. While here there’s none of that we can recognize all the traditional hyrulian Melodies just being corrupted by ganondorfs evil, instrument used to represent the good side are even used with a hopeless consonance in TOTK the castle theme has no hope no goodness nothing, fully corrupted by ganondorf and I LOVE it (we can even hear ganondorfs theme playing quietly in the background)
I'm so glad I never heard this until the segment where you're supposed to go into the castle to chase Puppet Zelda, otherwise the "epic" nature would have felt so out of place accompanying me meandering around an empty, pretty dead castle
3:54 the way the “announcement teaser” motif fills in missing parts through the other established motifs in the song… like how Ganondorf restores himself through the suffering of Hyrule… Explanatory Edit: I have a theory that the gloom roots suck the gloomy emotional aura from people on the surface, who've experienced dread and suffering since before/during the upheaval.
If you look closely they all point beneath Hyrule Castle where Ganondorf is... My theory is Gloom is know for absorbing life energy so Maybe Ganondorf is stealing that life energy to recover his power faster
That’s kind of bullshit lmao. No need to go comparing them like one has to be better. This is a clear evolution of the BotW theme, and it’s possible to appreciate both on their own.
I prefer listening to BOTW's as well. But at the same time, they're different themes for different vibes. BOTW's theme was very much "yeah evil's here now... go and conquor it, hero! (exterior)/behold the sullied grace of the one magnificant hyrule castle (interior)", whereas this one is a lot more uneasy, mysterious, creepy.
I think what hurts the appeal of this specific HC theme is that it lacks uniformity. It feels like it's just fragmented and doesn't know what it wants to be. If the section at 2:13 was adapted into an entire piece, it could have been the best. My humble opinion though lol
Timestamps:
0:00 - Hyrule Castle (Sky)
2:13 - Monster Forces Appear
3:06 - Zelda in the Sanctum
4:23 - Loop
2:13 is so fucking bad ass… when the enemies appear and the classic Hyrule castle theme plays with it.
Unreal emotion.
100% agree. I can never get enough of this it's just so good omg
the fact that that ganondorf's motif in this game is the botw castle motif in reverse was mindblowing when i first figured it out
So it IS the castle song from BOTW. I had been thinking about it for a while but wasn't sure if it really was.
wait it is?! How did you figure it out because if that's true that's crazy.
“Figured it out” aka watched the same videos as everybody else
@@RenSako Chill.
@RenSako sorry if u needed a video to figure it out urself but some people are just better at listening ig 🤷
When it transitions into the Zelda in the Sanctum bit, man what a surge I felt during gameplay.

That ice keese + Silver moblin combo was pure evil, yall know the room im referring to.

No not everyone knows what you mean..
Truly sinister
@@snowydays9631I believe it's the room just below Zelda studies's tower
@@fallenledechu ok?.. that's not what i meant
Peak Zelda, just the perfect soundtrack in all senses for the "New" Castle of Hyrule

This is one of my fav tracks in the series. The atmosphere it exudes is unrivalled imo. Ominous, foreboding, like danger is just around the corner
2:12 WHY IS THIS PART SO GOOD WHO GAVE IT PERMISSION TO GO THIS HARD
We got Link's Awakening Ballad of the Windfish in BOTW, we get A Link to the Past in TOTK. Awesome nostalgia.
I KNOW RIGHT⁉️

Most of it doesn't even play until that moment

1:27 This Is My Favorite Part,I can Imagine A Evil Ghostly Necromancer Having This Theme,The Dark Lord Himself
I love the hints of alttp hyrule castle theme
Sound like your going to war

Somewhere in game it says that ganon has been sucking the litteral life from hyrule using gloom, and thqts how he gets power to heal
The gloom roots form a massive reverse circulatory system right back to where Ganondorf is meditating for the entire game, right in the heart of it.
Nothing blew me away harder than the faint hint of cave 9 in zelda 1986. I was like wait…WAIT A SEC 😂
This music sound like Ganon's army march 🪖and I like it
This isnt a great dungeon tbh but the atmosphere is killer
When Aberdeen play one of the old firm teams
I love this theme, it sounds like if ganondorf is actually preparing an army, compared to the song in botw, which was just a nosralgic tune
That’s kind of bullshit lmao. No need to go comparing them like one has to be better. This is a clear evolution of the BotW theme, and it’s possible to appreciate both on their own.
I don't really see it tbh. I know BoTW's Hyrule Castle theme is an amalgamation of lots of motifs, but not any more than this theme is.
Zero dislikes
but this is also good

I think the botw one is better, this one is good but not as good, but holy shit the actual dungeon sucks
botw's hyrule castle was better

@@Soandnbyeah makesn sense they are two different vibes
This castle is more meant to be a "haunted castle" than BotW's grandiose finale that is Hyrule castle
