I grew up in Scarborough from 95 to 99 I went to friarage school and hung down the bottom end.. may not of been them years your singing about but I did some stuff what you've said. However my old man was from Scarborough and told me stories of what he did and this song is everything he had said to me.. It's a long shot but my dad was called david john brown did anyone knew of him just would like to get more stories of his younger days and growing up please.

I know this is a bit late but I have just found this. My family, both sides lived down the bottom end (Ellis & cammish). I loved working on the fish pier as a 8 year old, getting the ice from the chute and taking it to Toni Crack. My uncle Jack also had a fish stall on the front of the fish pier. It was a fantastic time in my life, I get all choked up thinking about it
Are you any relation to Brian Messruther ? Went out in his boat a few times in the 70s for a high old time. My mother was the district midwife who delivered at least one of his children.

don,t like scarborough, prefer blackpool and the west coast but this is very clever.
It`s more about the people who we grew up with in Scarborough Barry rather than the town.
