  • In 3D software, the process of wrapping an image around a 3D model, like a sticker on a box, is known as image mapping. In this tutorial, we are going to explore how CLO uses images to visualize what you see in the 3D window. The image files used in this process are known as “image maps”. CLO can visualize different effects based on the image that is placed into the specific area of the Property Editor when an asset is selected in the Object Browser.

This is an excellent video. I’ve always tried to understand the concept of the image maps and this takes my understanding to the next level. Love the phrase: “the key is to understanding which image map to place in what spot in the property editor” … or bring in as a print? Or use texture generator? So many options …

Thanks for explaining the different maps! Unrelated question: What is the command to freeze the red line? I've been using the box tool and freezing but it's not elegant like your red line.

Do you mean the Pin tool? If you want to freeze and entire Pattern Line Segment or internal line You can use the pink tool and the double click in the 2D window on the line you want to add pins to

@@CLO3D I selected the Pin tool in the 3d window (i tried both box and lasso). When I double click in the 2d window, it does not allow me to select a line segment. is there a video on how to do this?

hi. You can find many tutorials online about just making these maps. But also many use this free generator if you already have the base texture - cpetry.github.io/NormalMap-Online/
