I am definitely intrigued by that silver birch fusion - that will be a brilliant 'show and tell' next year when the vet tape comes off :)

Love your birch-collection, mate. I‘m quite curious on the reveille of your fusions trunk. Ready to be showen in a top international show in Tokio 😄👍😘 Enjoy your day ❤

Hiya Tony. The first Silver Birch is lovely with the white bark on the trunk. You must have had it for a while to get that. Thanks for your videos; keep having fun with your trees.

Cheers mate. Most of my birch are Yamadori, so they're probably a good 10 years old

Love it! Did you prune it in August? Is this a good time to do this kind of work on deciduous trees?

That funky shaped tree looks a lot like the ground planted birch I have thickening up. Potentially you could cut that right back towards the bottom of the long straight upright in early spring and it will throw out new branches and buds at the cut site and just above the crazy bends. Great material to work on 👍

I agree with you Tony - something really sweet about sitting in the shade on a sunny day and pruning to shape. I love your birches - most that I see are dead straight, but yours appear to dance. How long does it take for the bark to transition to its silver colour?

The wire on your fusions seems to be biting in already.

I think it will be fine until the spring. Perhaps some light bruising but I doubt it here will be any scarring under the vet tape
