Pearl earrings! I put on my pearl earrings today with a chambray shirt and white jeans. When my husband saw me, he did a double-take and said, “What’s the occasion?!” And I said, “Tuesday.” 😎
I do love my pearls. My grandmother loved her pearls, and she always looked lovely (I hope my grandchildren will say the same of me).
I also love to wear the color blue. So many beautiful things in this life are blue, like the blue sky and the blue ocean!

I used to work part time in a fine jewelry store, picking up some tips along the way. Pearl studs come in a few different tones. They can lean pink, peach or cream. Choose the pearl color that is most flattering to your skin tone. Also never use hairspray when wearing pearls, it will ruin the luster. I feel the perfect size pearl is 6-6.5mm. 7mm if your are on the taller side. Too large earrings in general can be aging. I also found the semi-precious green stone, peridot to be stunning on green eyed blonds in a simple stud of course. I have more observations, but I will stop here lol.
I have a pair of pink pearl stud earrings. I bought them 30 years ago and they are still beautiful. I agree about the hairspray, and perfume is like that, too. It'll destroy the surface of the pearl. They say to always put your pearls on last for that reason, so that they'll never be touched by those substances when your hairspray or perfume is still wet.
After 40s, I just fall in love in pearl especially stud earrings and simple necklace. Timeless as you say!

I agree with almost everything you said :) And all these earrings are timeless! My beloved parents gave me pearl earrings when I turned 21, together with a pearl necklace, and later they also gave me diamond ear-studs, encased in a little white gold. I think small diamond studs go with everything, even a casual outfit like a white shirt and jeans, a simple top and a skirt. The same goes with pearls studs, in my humble opinion.
My French sister-in-law wears her little diamond studs every day. She lives in Georgetown, Washington DC, though, not France. She didn't wear them until she moved to the US.
I love my pearls , my husband purchased for me this past Christmas . I saw how beautiful they looked on you ,I had to mentioned to him that was the gift I wanted . He also bought me a pearl necklace and bracelet . I’m having trouble knowing how to wear them and with what outfit . You look so beautiful ! Thank you for your videos .
I too, like studs as they are so practical and not fiddly. I found especially, while wearing the Covid masks as they don't get stuck in the mask. I sometimes wear a dangly earring in the evening, not too elaborate, when I wear my hair up and wear a plain evening dress. Thanks for a lovely video. Love, Pam

Diamond studs are the only type of earrings I do not own but definitely would like to have one day😉
For me small diamond studs work well both for casual and more formal wear. Emphasizing that they are small, a quarter carat each. I love pearl earrings too and need to find a color and size that works for me. Thanks for the examples!

I wear mainly silver jewelry. It looks best with my complexion. I don't wear studs often because my hair is longer and studs don't show up well.
I agree whole heartedly with your choice of the pearl studs. I recieved pearl earrings from my mother on my 16th birthday, and now decades later, they are still my favorite . . . timeless, elegant and always appropriate.
Marie I wholeheartedly agree with most things you recommend. However earrings are the bane of my life I have many single earrings and I always seem to lose one! Because of this my go to earrings, contrary to your recommendation, is white gold diamond (moissanite in my case) screw back studs. They go well with most outfits, and because they are resilient you can wear them day and night and even in the shower and you won’t lose them because they are screw back. I wish they made more screw back earrings. My pearl studs and drops are always on hand as well but it can be a faff to change them especially when time is short .

One of my favorite looks is my hair in a top knot and big, colorful earrings. It is definitely where my artistic side shines. I have the timeless classics, but I have the crazy stuff too.
My favorite to use when I go out of the house is a stud diamond earrings.

My father was a jeweler. He showed me how to tell if it was real pearls by gently touching it between my teeth. It would be gritty? compared to a softness with fake pearls. Hard to describe but give it a try. 👍

Pearl studs are my favourite. They are subtle and versatile. I also like silver studs. My most coveted studs are diamond...very small, in white gold. They are just plain. They only time you would notice them is in the right lighting.
You look radiant as always, the nautical stripes suit you so well. Those pearl drop earrings are beautiful, I love how a simple pearl can make such a difference.
Is it just me or why is it that it's always so relaxing when someone shows us their jewellery? Even as a child I used to ask my great grandmother to show me her jewellery box and I loved those moments. And from time to time I enjoy looking at my own, is it just me? 😅
Totally agree with you. As a child, I loved exploring my mother's jewelry drawer and hearing the stories of her favorite pieces. A fondest memory of my aunt is a lazy day when the she told me the history of each piece of vintage jewelry in her box and years later, my lil' niece would love playing with my earrings and discovering my latest purchases. Can't explain it but there is something comforting about sharing our jewelry boxes.

I luv the top and red earrings. So fun! I wear mainly studs as I have 3 holes in one ear and 1 in the other. I certainly HAVE a lot of other earrings as I work mainly in the jewelry dept of a retail store, but I simply PREFER the clean, classic look of studs. I agree, pearl earrings are more versatile than diamond.
Lovely and very informative video. I often wear small hoops and studs to work. During the pandemic I had to switch to wearing all stud earrings. My hoop earrings caught on the ear piece of my mask. But, I'm also chuckling because when I visited France in the mid-,nineties I bought a pair of mother of pearl earrings. They dangle and are karge. Though styles have changed I still wear them on occasion.

They remind me of when I first had my ears pierced as a teenager and was able to pick out a pair of silver studs with my Mom They look very nice with long hair when you can wear your hair behind your ears to show them off!

My favourite in your collection is the pearl drop set. I prefer drop earrings to studs because I love the movement.
I have never known how to put an outfit together, how to shop for outfits, or really care for my clothes - always in casual lazy clothes (while my closet was bursting at the seams) after I put on some weight for many reasons - but you changed my mentality completely! I bought a beautiful off-white blouse with one tiny plastic button to button at the neck (a year ago) and because of your videos I decided to throw away that plastic button and sew a pearl button instead; it only cost me 50 cents but OMG did it make a difference - Thank you so much Marie-Anne for your priceless advice! I have also taken everything out of my closet and am shocked by all the beautiful things I own (which I had forgotten all about) - You are the best!

I like small hoops in white gold or silver, and gold square studs. Black studs are nice too.

I love earring. I can not leave the house without earrings I feel not completely put together. I have mostly studs 90% of my earrings. I feel more comfortable with studs. I like hoops and some dangling for a party only, for festive occasion. I have them in yellow gold or white gold or platinum or silver. My husband loves pearls and so I have received from him several studs of pearls and diamonds. I have one set of stud diamond earring that are about 30 or more years old. Pearl is the most classic and goes with everything. I love my Tiffany pearls a special wedding gift from my husband. Thank you so much for this video.

Stud earrings have been my favorites for years, but especially during 2020/2021 since they are less likely to be pulled off with the mask on then off routine repeated continually throughout the day, but I always recheck them to be sure they are tight to my ear. I enjoy your videos very much.

Blue, mainly navy, and occasionally another shade of blue, has always been my favorite wardrobe color. If my children ask me what I’d like for my birthday next month, I will request pearl stud earrings! Loved your butterfly with pearl earrings from your mother. My mother loved wearing pearls, too.

But you have touched on my favorite things, Earrings, I'm admitting to at least sixty pairs. Probably only ten percent I actually wear, but studs definitely my favorite, sooo versatile... Have a set of Joan Rivers Classic collection earrings, Which I bought from qvc twenty years ago and are interchangeable, so have eight set of coloured pearls and fit into a gold clasp, love them and are as bright as the day I bought them, rip Joan!!! My husband gave me a pair of pearl studs with a tiny diamond baguette drop for a wedding gift. I have loved them for 52 years now and they are my go to earrings. Never thought of them as too dressy for everyday! I think of dandle earrings as more party or evening. I am surprised you didn't mention hoops as they are very popular, though I only own a small pair in gold.
My favorite earrings in the entire world are my Mikimoto pearl studs! I've had them for years. I love the simplicity of a stud earrings - they are my style. Thank you so much for you Channel. I have a lovely pair of heart studs with a coral ball in the middle that my parents bought me when they went to the Caribbean. I love them.
I love an erring with a small drop because I am very petite with a short neck. I feel the small, delicate drop helps to give the illusion of a longer neck. My favorites are a pair of lapis luzia from China, in a very small rectangular shape with a gold band at the bottom. Very simple but with a little movement. Pearls are my second favorite for the reasons you mentioned. Don’t leave home without the finishing touch of a classic earring and a red lip. Grazie

I have a short neck so studs are what feel comfortable on me and don't get hung up in collars and sweaters.

I have very long hair...studs tend to disappear. So for me basic hoops stand out against my dark hair. I've also taken to wearing red lipstick...I really enjoy the compliments from that. I wear real pearls for dressy and I have a pair of diamonds

I only own 4 pair of earrings, silver ball studs, pearls, and a tiny pair of silver hoops, and for very dressy occasions, a pair of square diamond studs my husband bought me for our anniversary.
I never owned diamond studs because they don't go with everything. In a previous video you mentioned how pearls are versatile and I was convinced. Recently I did buy a pair of beautiful preowned pearl studs off etsy and you're right they quite go with everything. I love them!
I like studs for everyday wear too. My favourites are stud pearls and tiny stud diamonds - both brighten the face. I think they are both versatile as long as they are small. My dressy earrings are drop pearls similar to yours and I love them for special occasions. However, every now and then I fancy something bold. I just received a new pair of silver drop earrings with large bright blue crystals. I know that’s not classic and Marie-Anne would not approve... but life is short and they make me happy! Yes Miss Marie I do love love love studs! They seem to accentuate my face while not snatching all the attention! Those sapphire colored ones are very elegant and serene. I also wear them as I sleep and I don't feel like I have to take them out so often! I think they actually liven up the face and help the light catch my eyes at once! And yes they do this for you here.

I have pearl studs and I’m sure they are not actual pearls. I wear them 24/7 except for cleaning them. I found the backs that are so comfortable, I can sleep in them. I have other earrings that I really like, but haven’t worn in months as they seem too fussy and not classic. Marie Anne, your tidbit to look in the mirror before you go out for the day or evening and to remove 1 thing has changed my style so completely. I usually remove a necklace, scarf or belt, but if I try a different ear ring, they go and pearls go back on! So simple!

Oh my, I have the exact same style earrings except the red ones. Love my pearls. I have a pearl stud wardrobe in different sizes and colors though, I even have expensive ones for going out and cheap ones for outings where something might happen to my better ones (picnics and pool parties). I have silver ball studs too! You are right, you can't go wrong with pearl studs. For evenings, I second the pearl drops, as I said I have a similar pair. Thanks for sharing.
