"Think of your brain like a google search engine. Whatever you enter into it, it goes looking for. So if you enter into your mind that you are worrying about something, or there is a problem, or you are looking for the negative. Your mind goes to work all throughout the day seeking evidence to prove that true for you." ..."Train your mind where to focus!" --> So simple. So good. Thank you.
I am a big fan of gratitude journalling. I do this each day. Gratitude works on a personal level and a collective one.... Thank you for more trees, thank you for cleaner air, thank you for healthier seas, thank you for everyone eating 3 meals a day. Thank you for peaceful thoughts in everyone. Thank you for love & kindness to all creatures. Thank you for our peaceful planet. Namaste everyone.
Our well went out right before Christmas last year, in prime COVID time. Couldn’t stay with family. Wow, what a change in day to day life & my mental state. As I melted snow in a big pot in order to flush the toilet, I told myself at least I had the snow in order to even do that lol. I remember that every time I wipe down the counters or wash a dish.
I do have a G journal. I do the 5 things plus 1 which is always my Hubs. 56 years of gratitude for him. I watch all day for things to be grateful for. Has definitely made a difference in our lives. Blessings.
Hi Dani, I have tried a gratitude journal where each day you write everyday 10 to 50 things you are grateful for. It seems like everyday I was writing the same things just to be writing something. Needless to say that didn't last long. I like your way, grateful for 1 thing with 5 reasons you are grateful for it. I'm going to try this method. Thanks. MJ
That's EXACTLY what happened to me Mary + so I felt like I was just going through the motions and not actually FEELING the gratitude. This technique works so much better for me. I can't wait to hear what you think.
I bought a journal after I saw the last video, 5 tips for healthy holiday. I do it in the morning in front of my daylight lamp and it is wonderful. It has helped me immensely. I have just started too work again after a couple of years of depression and this really works for me. Too shift my focus, calm down and remember what's important to me. So thank you for sharing this with us 😊
Clean & Delicious Yes 😊 This Christmas I left it at home fore a week while I was at my parents house and I noticed a big difference. Sometimes I also use a small Tibetan singing bowl too center myself with sound. Thank you for all your videos, they help and inspire 💛
This is one of those things that I remind myself everyday. Keep an attitude of gratitude. I learned this when my father was daying from cancer. I kept reminding my self that we have only each and everyday day and that tomorrow may not come, so we better keep a positive greatful attitude and not waste time on negative things. Thanks for this video, good reminder for me 🤗
Love the 5 reasons idea! it's been talked in a lot of sources, that the more reasons you have for doing something, the more it gets important for your life.
Yessss! I talk about this a lot in my channel, but gratitude is SO important. It’s not only an act of expressing thankfulness, but it’s self care, too. Thank you!
You can also write yourself letters in the mail. I do this in the summer when I'm am more busy at work, and I write to myself a letter every week telling me about things being grateful for and also positive notes about myself etc. It really is great to get this in the mail every week even if I send it to myself.
Hey, sis...writing down reasons WHY we are grateful is such a good idea. I see where that would keep us in the grateful state enough seconds to change the positive chemicals in our brain. 😇
I am sure having a more positive outlook on life helps us in our spiritual, physical, and emotional realms. I personally feel so much better when the sun is shining outdoors and I can take a walk or be out in nature! I like this new way of approaching a gratitude journal.
You are brilliant ! In the past I often was involved into anxiety while doing gratitude exercise. Now I know I must stop everything and Soften the tention (release), just as I do with my kite when there are too much of wind.
Great video! Every morning I write my intentions for the day, this is my morning routine. At night, I write was I am grateful for. I write these on my day planer as there is great space for these. I also keep a journal for the days I need to get stuff out of my system. 😊
This sounds like a good idea, but I tried something like that for a bit previously and realised that very quickly, I was writing pretty much the same things every morning (intentions). When I tried to switch it up a bit, it then felt fake because I knew that I still wanted to achieve those things like be positive, productive and etc. Any help with this? :/
Thanks as always Dani for your feeding us in so many ways. I have been focusing so much on my health and finding ways to nurture it, that I have been remiss in my gratitude practice. Every day I wake up, the first thing I do is sit up in bed, take a deep breath and thank God I am here. But what you’re suggesting sounds like so much FUN!! I’m going to start it!
This is very helpful as I'm feeling overwhelmed with all the things I *should* be doing in the New Year. I especially liked the Now and Next process. Being thankful does tend to reframe my thinking...we do take so much for granted. Thanks for your helpful tips.
first, thank you for healthy and delicious recipes. i just started a new habit this January. Like you I start my gratitude journal or i call it prayer journal with gratitude and thanksgiving in the morning after my husband and son left for work and school where I can start my quiet time 😊. I also have a bullet journal where I have a “365 days of gratitude” collection page where I just write anything I am grateful for at the end of the day. I just want to start and end my day with a grateful heart regardless of how challenging the day is or was. my way of reminding myself to see the good and the positive in life.
I love this video, Dani! I work in a counseling center, and many of the psychologists and counselors recommend that our clients do a gratitude journal. Yes, our brains have a negativity bias - it takes four or five positive things to outweigh one negative thing in our mind. Great explanation of how to make this work for people.
Best video I have seen on this. I have always felt I should start one but never found a way in. This has really helped and motivated me to give it a go. Thank you
I really appreciate this video. It’s so easy to write 5 things I’m grateful for but it really makes u think when you have to explain y. I definitely want to start one. I, also, think it would be wonderful for my 10 and 13 year olds to start. They seem to forget what gratitude is and start leaning toward the “their entitled” to....a good reminder never hurts. tsmfs. ❤️ 😊
Awesome video, thanks for sharing. As for how to trigger the gratitude state, I think I heard in one of Dane Spotts audio recording: Think about the most positive experiences from your life & replay them in your brain as if they were just happening.
I try to write in a journal everyday. It gives me a look on what is going on in my life and what steps i need to make in order to be less stress for. I usually write in my journal at the end of the day where I can relieve the stress of the day.
It is amazing in such a young age you started practising this great principles of success, GRATITUDE, it really works, but what you know, I start writing this, n stop this first step, gratitude, n get swayed into Google mind, we deserve to caution us, right 😄??? But then get back into propping up myself on gratitude support. Thanks a ton for this reminder. God bless you n your TH-cam friends
These are great tips on doing a gratitude journal! I'm familiar with listing five things we're grateful for but listing why we're grateful for the things on our list does take us deeper into our gratitude! Great idea!
I already wrote one of these to myself, it was beautiful but hardly lived up to the glorious subject. I am also planning another grander one soon. I am worth it.
I’m a new subscriber - just randomly found you, and I’m grateful I did. Been going back to your old videos and soaking in everything. Really enjoy the way you break down and deliver complex information in a very digestible way. Love your voice as well ❤️
I do have one but wasn’t sure how to genuinely be grateful. I’m so glad you made this video!! I liked how you gave the google search example😂 it clicked after that 😅 I will definitely use this approach! Thank you 🙏 😊
I love writing to become aware of emotions and be more grateful. I am not particularly writing a gratitude journal but just journal in general where I stop and look for things I am gratitude. I am so grateful every time I take a hot shower, every time I go shopping for groceries, etc. Journaling is so important to me in so many ways.
Could you do a video on how to deal with and minimize anxiety? Based on your outlook on gratitude and a positive mindset, I feel like you would address that topic perfectly!
Thank you so much dear Sis, A good message before I and my Friday night.. you've always been so inspiring. I have learnt alot from you and Improved my food habit and disciplined lifestyle. Blessed New Year to you. Love from Malaysia.
Have you ever thought about starting a gratitude journal?! In this video I share how + why you might want to consider it. I've been keeping a gratitude journal for years, and it really helps me to stay in a positive mindset (most of the time). Would love to hear your thoughts. XO - Dani

Awe! It's never to young to start:) We often make it a game at the dinner table and go around having everyone share something they are grateful for and why. It's fun and an easy way to get the kids involved :) XO
I had seen you mention this in another video and started doing it this year! I do it as soon as I wake up. It’s been an interesting practice so far and does make a change in how I feel about the day - although I tend to forget by night time and might need another reminder lol

Which do you pick; just curious . A wonderful book , though sad 1st chapter , is A Thousand Gifts, by Ann Voskamp....the major theme being gratitude and keeping a journal as you spoke so well about today !
I know i should be more fresh and calm in the morning but for some reasons (giving more attention to negative things in past) i dont feel that way in the morning . I try to focus but my mind goes on thinking about things that i have to do in the morning ,and my mind wanders . I have hard time to just be focused in that present moment . On the other side i m more relaxed at bed time perhaps because i feel the day is over and now i need to do nothing for myself and others . No demands ,no work ,no panic . Any suggestions ,i dont want my mrngs to be so disturbed ,i want to feel calm and eager for the day . I do plan everything ahead but even then i get overwhelmed in the morning ,. I want to feel the way i feel at night . Sorry for the long text . Actually i am trying to bring changes in my life and i m working on mrng routine but somehow i cant see improvement in this . Whenever i want focus on things i am grateful for or appreciate things around me ,it feels like being forced because my mind is somewwhere else . Need some practical tips

Hey you have a glowing skin
Thank you.
