I'm 15 and I have a 1996 ford ranger 4x4 automatic with the 4L. I bought it for 1k from a family friend. Runs great. I love it and can't wait to get my licence!
You know your stuff dude , this was a fun watch! I got my first Ranger in August, a 2007 3.0L with only 90,000 miles , hoping mine can look as good as yours has over these years
I've owned two Rangers, both were 2002s. First vehicle ever in high school was an XLT 2wd with the 3.0L v6 that I drove for quite a few years. Also had a Ranger EDGE 4x4 with the 4.0 v6 at one point.
I got my ranger back in 2015 as well, I was 17, got a 2002 ford ranger edge 2wd single cab. Sold it in 2018 and got a mustang, low-key wish I kept the ranger 😢
My first vehicle was and still is currently an 04 ranger edge with the 4.0 V6 and 4x4 automatic with currently 167k miles on it OG engine and tranny still shifts like brand new. Forgot to mention that I have a flare side bed too.
First new vehicle I purchased was a 94 Ranger XLT. Only option I got was AC and it cost $10,900 brand new. I drove it for 13 years and 179,000 miles. Only repairs were 1 starter, 2 thermostats, 1 clutch and I replaced the timing belt for preventive measures. Tires, oil changes and batteries of course. Best vehicle ever IMO.
Rangers are great Trucks.... I had a 93 2.3 5 speed in High School drove it for year's after never let me down.... I bought a 86 Ranger to save on Gas that was a good little Truck.... I 've owned a Few Trucks after that then stepped into the Gm Truck Camp been there since..... I've had my 01 S-10 for 20 + Plus years ... I will never sell it....
Nice looking ride. I bought a 98 off the transport truck. Base model extended cab 4x4 with the 3.0 and a 5spd. I beat the ever living hell out of it. Was working masonry construction then. Onlynproblem I had was the fan clutch locked up, sounded like an airplane all the time. Other than that, nothing.
You can't go wrong here. I've had three of them. An 84 when I turned 16, a 93 which I totaled over 10 years ago. I walked away from a near head on collision in that one. My current one is a 96 Mazda B3000 (rebadged ranger) 4x4 which I had since 2014. Took that one home with 97000mi for 3k. Definitely a great investment. Both my 93 and 96 have the 3.0 V6. My current truck did crack a head due to overheating from a bad water pump. But it was still cheap to fix. That's really the only downfall I had with this engine. A couple other downfalls with these trucks, I've had to replace the fuel filler neck on both my 93 and 96 as the rubber disintegrates. Also had to replace rusted leaf spring hangers on my 84 and 96 but I do live in the north. I've had only manual transmissions in mine. The downfall there is the slave cylinder going bad. The trans has to be pulled to replace it so that means a clutch job while it's apart. Despite these downfalls, they have been really awesome trucks. I'm getting a 2025 F150 with 5.0 in the spring but still keeping my Mazda as a backup.
You most have a short somewhere in your truck that drains and kills the batteries 10 batteries in ten years it’s insane 😮 I would probably disconnect the terminal and plug it back when you start it again
Not everybody wants to fix their vehicle. It’s not in everyone’s DNA, I’m 43 and have meet countless men who have never had to turn a wrench in their life. You can’t blame people for not knowing what you know …. We all come from different environments. I was born with tools in my hand, but I don’t expect the next guy to be able to drop an engine and tranny just because I’ve swapped out 100’s before I was 18. Share your wisdom next time bro…. ✊
That truck looks brand new!
Great Truck!!! Keep it for as long as you can! You will never forget your first vehicle!

Toss these tires on the f150
And toss a battery tender on that ranger
Keep up that dedication
Great video! I don’t usually hand out compliments, but you come across really well. Keep it up, that is one clean truck too!

Absolutely beautiful
I would love to find one in that condition. I would definitely buy it. Enjoy your Ranger Young man
16 and have a 2003 2.3 manual ranger. My fuel pump went out too and I just took the bed off to get to it, probably easier than dropping the tank

Your truck looks immaculate…. It’s obvious you take very good care of it. Great content. Subbed man 👌

This ranger looks very mint
The 3.0L will outlast the 4.0 an 3.0 is way easier to work on I can have the heads off in less then 3 hours
how much A week for gas?
ranger good truck
I love the ford ranger, too bad the new ones aren't even a small truck anymore
clean
Thumbs up on still having your first car.
The 4.0L V6 engine is much more durable and reliable than 3.0L V6.
Keep pushing the videos brother young black male . You’ll be able to drive the unaffordable in the future
HOW YOU GONNA PUT 2K MILES A YEAR ON A VEHICLE 🤣🤣🤣
Bro said he thinks he puts a lot of miles on I’ve had my car 2 years and each year i roughly put 19,000 miles on it hahaha
nice video
I understand your appreciation and knowledge of your truck but I have to ask. What’s the point of having a car you barely even drive?
My bro has the best truck rscb f150 fx4 5.0

Oh wow I’m early
Junk
Yea brother if you can’t change your own plugs and especially coil pack then I don’t know how qualified you are to talk about cars 😂
Jus sayn
A coil pack is literally just 4 bolts everything else unplugs
