It was bound to happen sooner or later! Though I don't have anything to do with the 600's pre-88, I can see THAT 87 is a beauty and well sorted. I bet you're proud of it. All photos were taken by the owner who was trying to sell their bike on craigs list. I did once ask for permission to use the photos of one guy's bike once and he agreed. I liked the Red XRs the most - The 1989 is my Pick of the Litter, along with the '85-'86 & the 2000 Model like yours with the Silver Frame!! That's a Beaut! I think 2000 was the Final XR600? All Nice though! 👍
1989 is a good color scheme but the 1986 is probably the best looking in my book. Yet I can not fathom myself owning a dual carb unit. And too, the 89 with the rear drum brake is something I stay away from. The brakes is likely the most alluring aspect of the 91 and up bikes. I bought the 92 to get away from the overly sensitive, squeaky and easy to lock up drums on my 82. Yes 2000 is the last year of the 600. The red one in my fleet is a 95. Although it's frame might be "called" silver, it is plated in a nickle finish where the 2000's did have a silver painted frame as well as silver painted handlebars. In making nicky there were two goals. create a road plated machine that varies very little from a raw OHV and get rid of the white stuff. To have white parts on a dirt bike is to show how dirty it is. 2000's had red tank and fenders, silver frame but oddly enough they still had solid white side covers. As stated in the intro to this very video, you're supposed to know all that to alleviate me having to point out what each of these bikes has in the way of alterations! Just ribbing ya... 2many If you can get by the long winded intro on this, you'll get a visual of the 600 and it's changes through the years. @@2manyrides Yeah, Nicky is a Pretty Cool Machine, I forgot it's Nickel Plated!! 😁 it's got the best of all the XR Generations in 1 Bike! I've got a '90 model but I don't really like the White Frame & Fenders, if I get around to restoring her, I'll get Red Fenders & might repaint the Frame, I think UFO make Repro Plastics for the XR still, It's weird that the Side Covers are Painted in the Factory, I found out when I was Buffing the Plastics & the rubbed the Red Paint off! - I'll check out the Video Link - Cheers Too Many!👍

Two carburetors is better for power they say, but I don't really run out of power thumping along like I do. I was saying I would not have a dual carb bike because I already run a bunch of single carb bikes.

I guess it's taking a long time for him to move! But all original? No. As well, no street license. Looks pretty nice though. $3,500 is the tops for ohv. One just came up in aptos for $4,800. Check that! low hours 2000 bike with a plate.
