Measuring Light at Dave's Air Plant Corner | Part 1

- My friend Dave @DavesAirPlantCorner bought a LTH Meter from me so I figured I would deliver it personally and give a tutorial on how to measure and interpret light.
In Part 1, we discuss some very important reasons why measuring light is critical to how we talk about plant care - "works for me" isn't good enough.

Great you're back
As a biologist i appreciate the more numerical data on the light needs of various plants, id love to do a study on how much light is too much
I'm glad you appreciate a numerical approach to light! I think if you search "photosynthesis saturation", you'll find some articles on the topic of "too much light"
And the dog is cute🥰
It finally worked. The video did help.
This was so helpful thank you ❤🪴
I want to love this, and still cannot get the battery cover off!
Thank you, very helpful.
Good day. What is your recommended DLI for Aglaonema?
If you suggest 6 DLI, I can't reach 6 DLI with 40 ppfd
I'm really interested in the segment on grow lights as my grow lights don't read extremely high on foot candles, yet my plants seem to grow like they are too bright, some of them.
Great! For now, you can see the table for light requirements here: www.houseplantjournal.com/bright-indirect-light-requirements-by-plant/ (but I must emphasize, this applies only to WHITE LED light, not pure red/blue LED)
@@HousePlantJournal This list is very helpful! But what are some good sites to search for plants not on the list? And is there a list with humidity and temperature range somewhere?
