      Same, and I finally understand why nondenominational churches are the way they are. Because they are a branch of Baptists and many Baptist churches are not rooted in any Apostolic foundations. Instead, they are built around their pastor, which is why my church was the way it was growing up. Not because they were abiding by any traditions.
      I’m checking out a local Presbyterian church that’s been around since 1855 next Sunday.

    Worth pointing out that the Scots Confession was not just written by one guy, but by the "six Johns" under the superintendence of John Knox. It was thereafter approved by the Parliament of Scotland in August 1560. So it had a little more diversity in its input and ratification than just John Knox setting the world to rights.

    Loving the content man! Regarding “environmentalism” I think I agree with you, to an extent….. I’m a wood worker and while the quality of the wood these days for lumber isn’t at all like it used to be, today’s earth is actually “green-ing” faster than ever before in recorded history. My personal theory is that this is due to all the CO2 in the air literally being plant food, hence why construction lumber grows so rapidly, making the rings wider and fatter on trees (us wood workers prefer very fine and tight grain wood because it is typically stronger and less prone to warps and splits)
    I WILL say however, the type of environmentalism that thinks our earth will be destroyed because of fracking and carbon use is actually quite baseless… don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to live in a landfill and we absolutely need to find a more efficient way to recycle and reuse plastics, but God built this planet to be resilient and balance itself. Apart from a nuke I think the planet has been able to restore balance, like how God designed our bodies to heal from wounds that aren’t too large…
    God bless, I always love listening to ur talks on the way to work🙏🏼

    Hi. I am a Theology student in the Afrikaans Protestant Church, who broke away from the main line Dutch reformed Church in South-Africa, because of liberalism, beginning to gain power. We have a very high view of the sacraments and have a very tradisional worship stile. The only problem is that we do not have the beautiful churches, but that is not by choice. We have some beautiful churches, but not at the level of the main line. That is what we strive to. I am thankful for my church, because if we didn't broke away, the true reformed tradition would be lost in my country. One of my professors tried to stay in the main line, but he was bullied out of it.

    • @redeemedzoomer6053
      @redeemedzoomer6053  ปีที่แล้ว

      Always try to re-take the mainline, it always ends up being worse when conservatives have to run from the mainline. Lack of beautiful buildings is indicative of the deeper reality that the runaway churches left behind their cultural connections

    • @carelroos8908
      @carelroos8908 ปีที่แล้ว

      I cannot speak for other dinominations, but my church formation did not leave our coltural heretitch behind. It is more about finances that stand in our way. Some of our churches have to rent buildings from other churches and my congrigation bought our building from a charismatic church and it looks surprisingly beautiful from what I've heard, because I'm blind. I was at a sinod of conservetive main line churches in the Dutch reformed church in South-Africa and my observation is that they have abanded the historic reformed tradition, for example, they have woman in the office of elder, deacon and pastor, they allow children to take part of the Lord's supper and so on. My girlfriend's father is a conservitive pastor in the main line and his congrigation complains when he let them sing to much Psalms.
      And how do you sea Rom. 16 vers 17? As I understand, I cannot be in communion with a lesbean pastor.
      And forgive my beautiful spelling. My first language is not English. It is Afrikaans.

    • @uilspieel99
      @uilspieel99 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@carelroos8908 "... they have woman in the office of elder, deacon and pastor..." I'm pretty sure that women as deacons is biblical as both διάκονος (John 12:26) and διάκονον (Romans 16:1) are used. Moreover, there is mention of women serving as deaconesses in passages from both the council of Nicaea (325 AD) and the council of Chalcedon (451 AD). On another note, how does the APK use the Heidelberg Catechism? the reason I ask is because my denomination (NHKA) does not explicitly use it to catechise our catechumens. Rather, the NHKA has constructed a course that in principal is supposed to contain the same teachings but takes a more modern educational approach. I recall from my school days that classmates who were members of the APK made mention of memorising the Heidelberg Catechism and writing exams on it. Is this true?

    Even tho this isn't a political channel (and boy do i appreciate tf outta that), i very much enjoyed and agreed with telling many conservative and/or anti-woke people that environmentalism (the pure kind, not the "trojan horse" kind) is not a Woke thing, not a liberal thing, not a leftist thing.
    Its a human thing.
    In fact, as recently as 40 - 50 years ago, Republicans were the main ones pushing environmental bills and programs (to, you know, *conserve* the environment).
    I'm not saying the modern GOP is still like that, in fact I'm not even saying that politics is going to solve our current environmental woes (spoiler: it won't).
    But i do think its super based to let peeps know that just because you may view yourself as a conservative, that doesn't mean you have to be inherently anti-environmental.
    Also, just because you want to be an environmentalist, doesn't mean you have to blindly support this woke brainwashing that's attacking the minds of our nation.

      Here the Bible is indeed talking about the flood. But in verse 21 it says:
