    Welcome to Hoakalei, Hawaii's premier suburb, where the allure of resort-style living meets the reality of everyday life. In today's episode, we explore both the magnetic charm and the underlying challenges of residing in Hoakalei.
    ➡️ This neighborhood stands out on the island for its unique blend of upscale amenities, from the prestigious country club to the vibrant water sports lagoon, which has become a hub for community gatherings and food truck events. Here, the homes boast solid double-wall construction with vinyl closing windows and doors, presenting a more Mainland-style living experience in contrast to the traditional Hawaiian plantation homes.
    Despite its many attractions, Hoakalei comes with its own set of complications, from stringent HOA regulations that dictate everything from exterior paint colors to backyard decorations, to the occasional odor issues from nearby treatment plants. We delve into these aspects with Kenny from our team, a local resident, who shares both the perks and the pitfalls of life in Hoakalei.
    As we navigate through the manicured streets and well-kept public spaces, the episode captures the essence of a community that embodies contemporary suburban luxury yet grapples with the practicalities of suburban governance and community standards. Whether it's dealing with the detailed HOA rules or finding joy in the well-appointed recreational facilities, residents of Hoakalei experience a unique slice of Hawaiian life.

    I just wanted to say that even though I have no intention of moving to Hawaii, I love your videos and watch all of them! It's really cool to get an idea of what it's really like living in Hawaii-- it's so much more than just a typical real estate channel. Great stuff!

      Not explicitly in this video, although we do mention airplane noise and commute logistics in other Ewa Beach and Kapolei videos.

    Is it in a tsunami zone 🌊 ?, Do you need a separate policy for tsunami insurance & it’s price $ Do you need to have the air conditioning on 24hr./ 7 days a week? Is the HOA a pain in the @$$. ? How much is the HOA Fee / monthly cost?, what’s the traffic like in the morning going into town & returning home in the evenings? or do you have to leave @ 5:00am to avoid traffic & return home before 3:00pm.? 🧐🤔..

      Thx for the questions. No not in a tsunami zone. No additional insurance required. It’s about a month and 1/2 mile north of tsunami point evacuation zone. HOA is picky, but not any worse/better than others. Just keep it clean & get modifications approved. Dues/fees are 259 p/mo. For SFH & go higher for townhomes. For SFH it included cable/internet. The traffic sucks from 6:30a to 8a going town & 3:30/4 ish til about 6p comin home.

    Love your content, informative for sure.. i am a 1st home owner in hoakalei and my Ohana love this neighborhood. We stay right by the wall near Halili. Plenty transplant neighbors and choke Military us being both. But we love it here and will never sell, unfortunately the new development overlooking Hau bush is coming up soon. Love my detached garage but miss having a drive way.

      HOA is very strict with paint and home front landscaping. HOA roams looking for deficiencies within your property and the exterior. They take care of the front patch before the sidewalks, but within your property, you still have to abide by approved plants in accordance with the HOA handbook

    Are there any pet rules in the community?

    • @JWH808
      @JWH808 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are five sub associations, and they have their own pet rules.

    • @kennybaisley7440
      @kennybaisley7440 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For Ka Makana sub division specifically it’s just general pet rules in the bylaws. No breed or size restrictions I’m aware of. See rots, pits, Dobermans & have plenty neighbors with multiple pets at home. Great question.

      Certain HOA’s restrict types of animals & breeds of dogs; example pit bulls, bull terriers, cane corso or must obtain additional liability insurance..
