With the tagliatelle, you could also make a simple sauce that only requires an egg, some milk and plenty of grated Parmesan cheese and just whisk it, keep adding some parmesan if you think it's not thick enough. You could add some store bought minced garlic or baked fresh garlic if you want for some additional flavor, but the sauce itself requires no cooking and is just added to the tagliatelle after it's done, the heat from the pasta is enough for it... As an additional meat option, some bacon or steak cut into strips tastes great. Oh, also if you let the sauce just sit for too long, it'll start to thicken more and more, so you may want to add some milk if it sits for too long. I think you can likely switch out milk for cream if you like that more aswell.
Chickpea curry is cheap and easy with canned meat if you want to try that. Another simple recipe is shukshuka, it's just tomatoes either diced or saucey with eggs.
Can you do a video where you make one or more meals based off things you normally have in your pantry/fridge? Just to show how far simple ingredients can go.
Patrick Toner That’s what i was thinking! Barry classes some Ingredients as non-ingredients as most people have them (like butter, water, etc in this video) and I wonder how much he could do with just these ingredients
100% gonna add some white rum to that pineapple and mint drink. I just love having such a strong base with only a few ingredients and then we can get all creative and add whatever extras we want/can afford! Thanks Barry!
If you blend together Jaffa cakes, ice cream, and milk, you’ll get one of the nicest milkshakes you’ve ever had. Used to have them all the time at a pancake place as a kid, it’s closed now but it’s always so nostalgic and delicious.
If you're writing a third cook book this playlist should be a chapter. It's budget friendly, easy for beginners or busy families and so adaptable. I'm absolutely loving this playlist they're one of my favourite playlist from you. Keep it up 😊
That's one thing I appreciate living in Saskatchewan (a province in Canada), we don't change time ever. This is one of my favourite series - along with Kitchen Gadgets :) There's others too but those are my 2 favs.
One of the meals I tend to do when it’s the end of the month and money is tight is ‘Meatball Cassoulet’, and I use that loosely, Take a Tin of Tomato Meatballs, a handful of mixed veg, and some Baked Beans, heat through and serve. Simple and Cheap, I tend to add some seasoning, a little paprika etc... but they are optional.
I feel your pain Barry. I wake up at 6am every Sunday for church to be there and set up for the daycare, and I forgot to set my clock back and I was at my church at 5am, sitting in my car freezing!
Barry, you've just given me my Christmas dinner menu, you clever boy! All I need to do is pop a Quorn roasting joint in the oven, and job's a good 'un. Ps, have you ever thought about combining mince pies with trifle?
Barry, you're absolutely right about mint being pervasive! There was some spearmint growing crazy in my childhood back yard from someone's garden long before my parents bought the house. When my dad mowed the lawn, however, it smelled amazing outside! The scent of freshly cut grass and mint is such a refreshing combination.
Never heard of "Jaffa cakes" before (must not have them here in the states), but man! do they sound tasty! Gonna have to see if I can order a box or something. . .
On the kale can't tell if you removed the spine. Removing the spine is highly suggested. Spinning it between your palms a couple times helps soften it. (Kale grower here). Just love you! Love the energy!
I LOVED Jaffa cakes! But seven years ago I became allergic to gluten and had to stop eating them. This reminds me of how much I miss them. They look just as good as I remember. Hugs from Norway.
Neo and Trinity Kitten Hey ! in Austria we have gluten free Jaffa Cakes. You can purchase them on amazon. They‘re named „Schär Gluten free Orangino“. I had them once and they are actually really good.
The orange marmalade center has always been smaller than Jaffa cookie itself, or at least that's how I remember always seeing them. I used to hate them but now I like them very much. 😊
Who needs sleep when you can watch Barry's videos? Yeah that's right, that's my life right now... Literally makes me laugh how Boston's tongue has a mind of its own. Also don't worry Barry, how you are in this video is literally me everyday... Yelp. Love your videos, keeps me inspired and always making me laugh! Never change!
Hey, how about a 4-3-2-1 then have one where you put what you want on or in it? Sometimes simple is better? Loved the soup. Almost any salt makes my mouth pucker.
Are time changed also Sunday here in the USA and we fell back but that means you get an extra hour of sleep so you shouldn’t be tired. Food looks so good love watching your videos.
Original alfredo sauce actually only has butter and parmesan, they are mixed with the warm pasta and a tiny little bit of pasta water until everything merges in a delicious sauce 😊
As good as this series is, I really really find it dumb that he isn’t allowed to use common household items such as (salt, pepper, oil etc) because you guys have a problem with it. Also as fun as it is to watch for him to be restricted to 2/3 items strictly he could show us so much more just buy using the common items around the house WHICH I’m pretty sure everyone has. Get a grip and stop crying because he uses salt.
Alfredo sauce with mushrooms is super delicious as well! That Spice Girls reference... My teenage years say hi! Curly kale is also one of the prettiest Masura nail polishes out there. The NPAs are hopefully smiling about this one, but I guess all the nuggles out there will be confused ;P
I nearly choked laughing when you cut up the cheese with scissors! But as allways, very nice recipes! Your new vid's are allways my reward for getting through the day, I wait till I'm all done with the day, down and out in bed, relaxed, and then watch. (more than once I end up binchwatching a playlist and falling asleep haha) Thanks for relaxing me.
I do the pasta dish regularly. I always cook up onion, mushroom and bacon before putting the cream and cheese in. Add some salt pepper and Italian seasoning and it's beautiful! Recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The original alfredo pasta is a true 3-ingredient recipe since it is only some nice pasta (with some pasta water) mixed vigorously with butter and finely grated parmesian until it becomes creamy. No cream needed. Bon Appetit did a good video on it.
yes in Canada we spring forward and fall back Here's a rundown of fettuccine Alfredo's history and sauce variations. The original dish was an extra-buttery version of an Italian standard, fettuccine al burro - fettuccine with butter and Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese. It was created in Rome in 1914 by chef Alfredo di Lelio and served at his restaurant, Alfredo's.
I'm in Poland and they have their own version of Jaffa cakes with a lot more flavours, my favourite being the cherry ones. They could really give that dessert an extra boost.
Luvin it one of your better video's natural. Rustic. Thanks you cheer me right up. Crazy always rocking 🤣 Inspirational. Please don't stop these videos Barry. X
I’m in the US and I’ve tried several UK snacks and the thing in most envious of that I’ve tried are Jaffa Cakes. We have a raspberry flavored thing that is basically the same but the orange on a Jaffa Cake is just so pleasant to me.
Oh in Europe the standard in the shops is either orange or raspberry flavoured ones, but in the summer months they sometimes also sell lemon and more commonly cherry - which I love if it weren't for the fact they change the chocolate to white chocolate with just a bit of a drizzle of dark chocolate and that screws up the taste so much... But cherry jaffa cakes are just the best.
Fact: its law in the UK that you must say 'Snooop dawwwwggg' when you take Ice Cubes out the freezer to remind them that Snoop dogg was a better rapper than Ice Cube.
One of the many reasons I love living in Arizona is that we don’t ever have to change our clocks! 😂 I think we’re the only state in the US that doesn’t abide by the daylight savings time fall backwards/spring forwards rules.
Im trying the mint n pineapple tomorrow for wifes breakfast- after a Very expensive valentine's failure. Suggestions to follow the mint pineapple thing Barry???
Lol you make me laugh Barry. I texted my daughter to see what she thought of having the jaffacake trifle for Christmas as it’s normally way too hot hot for Christmas pudding.
I make three ingredient biscuits (3,2,1 biscuits) (which are not the same as biscuits in England, but are a quick bread) - 3 tablespoons of shortening (or butter), 2 cups of self-rising flour, 1 cup of milk - cut the shortening in the flour until it resembles sawdust, mix in the milk (you might not need the whole cup) to make a soft dough, knead lightly, pat out on a floured surface to 3/4 to 1/2 inch thick and cut into rounds (or cut into squares if you don't have a biscuit cutter), bake at 375 degrees F until lightly browned and baked through. Serve with homemade clotted cream and jam, or with sausage gravy, or butter, or eggs or whatever....they go great with soup.
fettuccine al burro is an Italian pasta dish of fettuccine tossed with butter and Parmesan cheese, and use starchy pasta water to thicken. It might be less creamy but still alfredo-like with less ingredients
To save some time, though it probably won't be quite as good, you could also used a bottled alfredo sauce. I don't personally like tomatoes in much of any form, but otherwise this whole meal looks really good and quite Italian.

Genuine pasta Alfredo is just pasta, some of the pasta water, which is quite salty, grated parmigiano, and butter. So it’s closer to three ingredients than yours! If you allow the free water, it’s exactly three.
Am I immediately going back 9 years to rewatch your oldest videos to start my barrathon? Yes. Yes I am. If only baby Barry (aka Basil) from the past had the microwave egg poacher. At least now he's got the dogs to eat whatever he drops on the floor. 🤷🏻♀️😂

Barry Lewis could you do 4,3,2,1 part 10 on your food channel playlist
With the tagliatelle, you could also make a simple sauce that only requires an egg, some milk and plenty of grated Parmesan cheese and just whisk it, keep adding some parmesan if you think it's not thick enough. What's that blue shimmer around the edges? Something on your lens?
Did you mean Jaffa Cakes are not biscuits 🤦♂️
Barry Lewis I play GTA5 on the X box one almost every day with my grandpa.
Could you maybe start a series for recipes using just tins? Having a struggle recently and having to use foodbanks
That'd be cool. ^^ If you can get rice or beans, there's a lot you can do with canned food.
That would be a great idea. I bought Jack Monroe's book 'Tin Can Cook' but found it a massive disappointment compared to her other books.
Alex French guy cooking did a series on that..you should look it up Jess.
Chickpea curry is cheap and easy with canned meat if you want to try that. Another simple recipe is shukshuka, it's just tomatoes either diced or saucey with eggs.
Look up struggle meals, it's under tasty's TH-cam, but really great cheap meals
This is my favorite series because it’s recipes that I can do and it’s s affordable 😊. I like your shirt Barry.
Thanks glad it can get you in the kitchen
Agreed, tbh these are the only recipes I’ve actually attempted.

I feel like half the time these videos are really good for people with depression or fatigue issues and it’s great
omg imagine grating terry's chocolate orange on the top of that jaffa cake trifle!!! im trying this!
Glad I searched the comments so as not to be redundant. Do eet!
Okurka The pasta had six ingredients so it doesn’t really matter
oh thats genius. mmm

I think we should all take home one thing from this video: Barry is sooooooo tired hahaha
You never fail to put a smile on my face Barry. You are so FUNNY 😂💖💖

Kim B, that's me yeah they’re talking about getting rid of DST here in Ontario.
We’re talking about getting rid of it in BC, too!
I read this post and immediately thought of "fugget about it" theme song 😂😂😂
I’m trying to imagine you playing GTA in the middle of the night
Lol me too, I'm like " Barry plays gta online!?" Haha never would've guessed it.
Chief LuLu such an awesome way to spend a sleepless night, playing GTA!
Tip for the drink: freeze the pineapple plus the pineapple juice so that you don't have to use ice cubes 😀
Lord help us.......Barry on caffeine overload. 🤯🤯🤯
You are the best.....❤👍

He's so tired that he's delirious and I Love it!!

I think he's right though, I remember them being like 3/4ths of it? But then again as a child it might have just seemed so.
Barry. That pineapple n mint cooler went great with sweetchili garlic chicken 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Who needs sleep when you can watch Barry's videos? Yeah that's right, that's my life right now...

I wish Jaffa cakes were available in the US. They look delightful!
Hey, how about a 4-3-2-1 then have one where you put what you want on or in it? Sometimes simple is better?
Loved the soup. Almost any salt makes my mouth pucker.
It would be pretty interesting to see a weekly meals vid, see what you all eat as a family.

Yeah exactly. Im confused as to why he is so tired because I feel very rested
I just commented that! I was so confused. He literally made me question everything I know lol
I'm exhausted after the time change. But I have two kids. Game changer. Lol It throws them off.
Gotta love how your videos show imperfections. I like people cooking stuff but watching small 'oops' is a lot more relatable.
Original alfredo sauce actually only has butter and parmesan, they are mixed with the warm pasta and a tiny little bit of pasta water until everything merges in a delicious sauce 😊

Tried making clotted cream turned out great, Thanks Barry.
God do I know what 2:42 feels like 😂😂 Clocks changing and darker nights gets me every year 🤣
I made this Alfredo sauce recently and it tastes much better than the Alfredo sauce you can buy in the store.
I learned about your mint warning the hard way.
Love this series! Keep it up Barry!

Love how the Pineapple Rag" is playing when making the pineapple drink
Thank you for doing these recipes. With my disability it’s really tough to cook and this helps.
could have possibly shaved the chocolate off the jaffa cake to get the shaved chocolate on top
I'm glad you did soup, you owe Becky some after last weeks salt fiasco.

I think this is the funniest vid I've seen of urs. I was killing myself laughing thru it all. Lol. Keep them coming. I love all ur vids!!
Here’s a winter warmer, take a shot each time Barry says he’s tired! You soon won’t care that you’ve lost an hr of sleep! 😆
Lol you make me laugh Barry. I texted my daughter to see what she thought of having the jaffacake trifle for Christmas as it’s normally way too hot hot for Christmas pudding.

Ι love the series. Brilliant ideas :)

fettuccine al burro is an Italian pasta dish of fettuccine tossed with butter and Parmesan cheese, and use starchy pasta water to thicken. It might be less creamy but still alfredo-like with less ingredients
Try this recipe I did for my family and they loved it it’s pasta, white sauce and you can use bacon, ham or chicken
Thanks for sharing this video. I really enjoy your videos. Sleepy Barry is so funny 🤣🤣🤣, I get that way too.
To save some time, though it probably won't be quite as good, you could also used a bottled alfredo sauce. I don't personally like tomatoes in much of any form, but otherwise this whole meal looks really good and quite Italian.
yesss Barry been waiting for another one !! looks great I can't wait for what you do next 😍😍

Fettuccine Alfredo is my husband’s favorite meal. He is going to be so impressed when I make this! I will probably add some grilled chicken 😄
I'm lovin this new, completely exhausted Barry. What a wild card! A loose canon! He's breaking all the rules, chief. Never sleep again, B.
Barry is literally one of the funniest guys ever , when he said “the cardboard isn’t a ingredient” 🤣🤣🤣
Am I immediately going back 9 years to rewatch your oldest videos to start my barrathon? Yes. Yes I am. If only baby Barry (aka Basil) from the past had the microwave egg poacher. At least now he's got the dogs to eat whatever he drops on the floor. 🤷🏻♀️😂

You Brits get your tomatoes in a cardboard tetrapack? Where I live, they only come in aluminium cans. Then again, we also take our milk in bags in some places here (not in my city, but in other cities in the country)
Wait, Barry plays GTA? Huh. For some reason I can't imagine him playing a violent video game lol.
I think this has been the best episode yet lol
You’re going to be crazy today? Not surprised, you’re always crazy. ❤️
