I prayed through this song when my aunt got diagnosed with cancer, hopeful for a healing. I prayed through it and worshipped 4 years later at her bedside as she was passing. I still worship through it 2 years after she went home. In ALL circumstances my God is good and faithful.

If people don't know about Dustin, he is the front man for a VERY good and popular band called Thrice. Their album Vheissu has a lot of biblical references. And Major/Minor, specifically Words in the Water. He's a big deal.
I can't believe Dustin got all of America there to be his lead guitarist .... Like I was ready for that dude to just explode and morph into a bald eagle somewhere in the middle of that
Why would you assume he's not a good guitarist? Because he plays in a worship band? Some of the best guitarists I've ever met play in worship bands. They volunteer their skill.
This kind of music is hard for me to listen to because I used too be a believer and was raised too believe in power of pray. but some time the power of pray is not enough too slave the person that needs to be heal or slaved and at the end I walk a away from what I believe and was taught my hole life.
The power of prayer is not in you. God is the powerful one and He does everything according to His will. Sometimes we pray hard for something and His response is still "no" because He does as He pleases. But we have to remember that God is good and wise. He does nothing bad, nor dumb. Everything works for His glory and the good of His church.
But let me tell you another thing God never casts out someone who comes to Him through Jesus Christ in repetance and faith. Call upon Jesus's name for salvation and peace with God. You are a sinner in need of Jesus Christ, the only one who can save you. "Jesus said to them: I am the bread of life, whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thrist. But I said to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe. All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out" John 6:35-37 Cry out to Jesus, keep calling upon His name. Put your trust in Him and only Him. Repent of your sins and believe Jesus took your place on the cross and paid the prize. He bore the wrath of God in the place of sinners so we'd be reconciled with the Father.
What a shame about Mars hill. Such a different voice among all the shallow mega churches. Sound teaching, Christ centered music, and a force making more people aware of reformed theology. One dudes pride and toxicity had to ruin it all
