can someone please expand on the "your love vanquished all my enemies" line? yes, king david says something like that in the psalms but he's literally talking about warfare. god loves you, but that doesn't mean he'll take out all your "enemies". so many talented musicians at ihop/bethel, but i wish their theology was more rigorous.

Now it could depend on how you define "enemy", I doubt its talking about our everyday person that comes against us, but rather against our spiritual enemies. When Jesus went into the grave he defeated death and made a way for us to know Him - all for love! Our enemy, being Satan and his army of demons, is defeated in Jesus name! That also means that the things that come against us today - fear, depression, guilt, shame, anxiety, etc etc - are defeated in Jesus name! They have no more true hold over us when we have Him on our side!
They are talented mainly because of God's anointing in their lives.. You can describe love as what Christ did on the cross. Because of that we r conquerors through Him..
