I have been using this concept of looking in front of the ball for the last 9 months and it has helped me to improve my ball striking. This is a great tip.

Brilliant…this works. I was consistently striking the ball with my irons on the first round using this info. I have much more practice ahead of me, but now I understand the what, why, and how.

Yes this is a simple and brilliant drill. Working really well for me on the range where I am able to look aim and look ahead and get great strikes with all my irons. The challenge is to keep it up on the fairway and not fall back to old habits in the face of pressure to hit the green in front of your mates!

I've done this for years in play and it has made a massive difference to my game.

Thanks for the tip, one of the hardest things I have been trying to cure, hitting behind the ball. Played on a course when I was young, fairways were like cured concrete. Bad habits go waaayyyyyy back! I'll order some short tees and give this a try. Maybe next year I'll be getting low spot in front of the ball?

This is a great reminder as well. Last year i struck the ball great, great compression and all. Started with a drill just like this. This year, been searching for my strike and compression. Now i remember 😂 thx Ali 8:35

I have been doing this for some time now with succes. However I was also reluctant hitting the ground. If that is the reason for a wrong low point you need to work on that first. There are some good drills for that too.

I started doing the tee drill a long time ago, and I guarantee it works IF you work at it.

Can you please talk about grip pressure please. Hit balls with a very loose grip. Then A very tight grip and then the correct grip pressure and show us what happens. Thanks

One question I have - does this work from hybrids too?

Such a simple concept, but totally changed my iron play.

Hi,.....This is a very helpful drill, thankyou! I notice your chin seems to be over the ball at address, should we presume your eyes are focussed on the tee? Also, your left side doesn't seem loaded, would that help me perfect a constant ball strike?

I started doing this a few months ago and it was working so well then all of a sudden I started hitting fat again, like worse than before... and I couldn't understand it. After a few very frustrating weeks, I remembered I own a divot board. Went back to hitting off of that and realized that now I can look at the back of the ball where I want to make contact and the low point control happens automatically, as if something clicked in my brain. Really weird.

Oh to have the flat lie of a driving range all the time? The course I play has so many slopes, a flat lie is seldom. Finding the low point is very difficult most of the time.
