@Alex Rivas i totally understand what you're saying bud. No one i know including myself has a problem with immigration. We were all immigrants at one point in time. The problem is illegal immigration. Illegal immigrants cost us roughly 250 billion a year as opposed to 25 billion to build a wall. A wall won't stop every one from getting in illegally but it would stop the vast majority of them. In my state of NJ programs and state assistance is being taken away from citizens here and given to illegals for college and free legal services for when they get caught. And thats only naming a couple of things. It really does effect everyone in one way or another.

@@tmac0734 You do know that walls was being built and replaced right.... the problem is like anything the gov does its slow and highly inefficient, this is why we need those like fisher industries to get the job done already. They can't just simply dip their hand in the cookie jar whenever... it has to planned, discussed, and be budgeted for at periods... with most everyone on board (which not all Republicans entirely are btw). You also have to take in consideration some federal judges that put a block on them from pulling funds in a massive attempt to delay what was already in the process of being built. There is a lot to it but it isn't just simply a easy cut and dry thing when there is constraints to work trough and opposition to it all nestled in from the top down.
What should really make one wonder is why most Democrats had no issue with "walls"- national security before "Trump".... that's the real question one should think about here. They have literally ignored and even got in the way of border patrol now simply because "Trump" is in office... its ridiculous that they can't set their hate for him aside long enough to even just to listen to the actual boots on the ground....but hey..... as you said there is a election coming up and they haven't stopped campaigning since the last one.

3.3 billion is still a lot of money. Knowing how state and federal jobs are done with pricing and bids, I guarantee all bidders added 75% up charge because it’s the government. The feds have zero bidding skills, they take dumb bids, they make bad estimations. But if Fisher can get it done on time at the numbers they say, go for it.

yep. the government only really needs a police force, prisons (although can and probably should be contracted to a private company), an army (although contracting that out to private companies will make that massively cheaper and more efficient) and they need to own local roads (although maintenance should be contracted out to private companies and ownership would EXCLUDE highways, toll roads, railways, roads on private land etc.)

You clearly have no clue of my previous point, because FDR was one of the first presidents to acknowledge that we need a proper mixture of private and government programs. Privatization of everything is bad, and we are getting closer and closer to that point, hence the reason why he wage gap is getting bigger and bigger. Well Erne e, if you have a driver's license, a driver's license is a photo ID, a photo ID is needed to vote, and most illegals have driver's licenses, put two and two together. In most instances you don't need your Birth Certificate to obtain a driver's license. So illegals can vote using their driver's licenses although they are not American Citizens.

You can take it from a Hurricane Katrina Survivor and a citizen from New Orleans. Army Core of Engineers move like molasses for a variety of reasons. Like any bureaucratic agency- they can’t get anything done unless you constantly watch them and make sure they do it correctly. They are good people- they just have certain job security which causes then to be lazy with a lack of focus. In New Orleans, after Hurricane Katrina, our city wasn’t flooded but because Army Core Of Engineers didn’t do their job correctly we had three levees bore open that were preventing three drainage canals leading to Lake Ponchartrain. That is how the entire city was drowned in drainage water. It is always best to hire a private company that is most competent. I think that is common sense.

New Orleans is below sea level and has been for a long time. It was the actions of the Army Corp of Engineers that caused the breach and flooding.
Besides, 26 percent of the Netherlands is below sea level, including one ENTIRE province. It can be done if done right. It wasn't done right in New Orleans.

The most interesting thing about this proposal is that it includes paved roads. What people don't realize is that most of the border that does not have a barrier is mountainous with NO ROADS. Fisher is offering to build the road as well as the wall. It sounds like a great deal, but will our government approve it? A mile a day keeps the migrants away.

Just imagine how good that would be for caterpillar, and other heavy equipment manufacturers add to that capacity and transfer that capability to each branch of military. It could become part of a modular construction unit with compatible additions to the arms for things like housing.

Or you know, do due diligence, see if the company is reputable and will actually produce a good product at the price they are offering. From brief research, they haven't always delivered. Back in 2016, they were building a $40 million levee that turns out, wasn't using quality materials, and provides no flood protection. They've also had a bit of a history of tax fraud and environmental charges. And tommy's father got convicted on child pornography charges while CEO of the company. And they've never done any construction project anywhere near this size, so cost overruns are to be expected. That's about two minutes of research. They are a company looking to make money, not doing this out of the kindness of their hearts - it's best to not take everything they say at face value.
