I took my two children to Disney world a couple decades ago. My daughter and son in law with three children planned to go two years ago and the price was over ten thousand for five days. I talked them out of it. I said it this way, your spending this much money to stand in line? Because I remember that when that daughter and her sister were there. The weather was very cold for the three days we stayed.
Bottom line, they decided to go to Denver skiing for five days, spent $5000 including airfare. They had a fabulous time. The other $5000 saved? It went for a swimming pool.

The prices at the parks are just part of the problem. I took a weekday off from work to go to Disneyland (CA) with a friend of mine. The lines weren't too bad. But a handful of rides were closed for refurbishing, or whatever. Four other rides broke down during the day that I was there; one broke twice. And they were closing early for a private couples event. So what's the sense of paying high prices when rides are breaking down and you have to leave early? The last ride that we tried to get on but it was broken was Space Mountain. They said it would take about an hour to fix...I couldn't wait an hour because I would have been kicked out of the park by then. What's "happiest" about that?

imagine paying 200 for a day just to be in line majority of the day for KIDS RIDES. on top of that the over priced food, and merch. they increase the price because of the increase for minimum wage and because they know the "disney adults" will pay anything to act like a toddler at the park.

Disneyland has become completely unattainable for the average working family! The prices are outrageous, and for what? A subpar, agenda-driven experience filled with broken-down attractions and overpriced, low-quality merchandise mass-produced in China? It’s just not worth it!
Long lines are bad enough, but when you finally get to a ride, there’s a good chance it’ll break down-what a waste of time and money. And don’t even get me started on the merchandise. It’s ridiculously expensive and nowhere near the quality Disney used to be known for.
The saddest part? Disneyland isn’t the same magical place most of us grew up with. Walt Disney would be heartbroken to see his dream turned into a corporate nightmare. He built Disneyland for families, making it affordable so that people from all walks of life could experience the magic of imagination and storytelling. Now, it’s all about squeezing every last dollar out of guests and pushing IPs instead of creating original, awe-inspiring attractions. The heart, the creativity, the fantasy-it’s all been replaced by corporate greed.
But after visiting Tokyo Disneyland, I realized how far Disney’s U.S. parks have fallen. Tokyo Disneyland, which isn’t even owned by the Walt Disney Company, delivers a far superior experience-better entertainment, top-notch attractions, and a nostalgic charm that Disney stateside has lost. Best of all, they refuse to tamper with their classics for the sake of "updates."
It’s crazy to think that in Japan, you can get a premium Disney experience at a fraction of the cost, while in the U.S., you’re paying thousands for a watered-down, broken, overpriced, agenda-filled version of what Disneyland used to be. Walt’s dream was for families to experience magic, not to be priced out of it. Sad!
