    Is it necessary to adjust the focus every time we switch from engraving to cutting?

    Hi Ryan -- I bought the same 12w diode, but I am not able to but completely through 1/8 inch thick plywood using 300 speed and 80% power and two passes. How are you able to cut through such thick pieces? In Lightburn, are you using 255 or 1000 for your power setting? I'm using your cutting distance of 30mm.

      Max value is 1000. If it's still now working either slow it down or up the power.

      No worries. I didn’t have any plans to make a video for the belt tensioners but I can tell you that you need to unscrew everything from the belt tensioner before installing it. Just look at pictures from the website and it should be fairly self explanatory.

    Looking at Xtool, but I guess for $100.00 less, you get 2watts more power with the NEJE. Sort of wish NEJE made a 20W to compare to the 20W Xtool.

    Hi I saw your video and I also have the expension of this model, only I can't use it right. when i give the same imput as you do at lightburn it moves not right. The X axis is not the problem, so it moves from the left to the right. But my problem is with the Y axis. It can't u the full 1030. when I put the normal values is (810x460) there is no problem. But with the extension (810x1030) is't giving problem in the form of the motors rolling against the starting point. What am I doing wrong?

    • @BusterBeagle3D
      @BusterBeagle3D  ปีที่แล้ว

      Just make sure in your device settings that you have the home position in the correct corner. If you choose the wrong home position your Y position may be off. It probably wouldn't affect the X axis because most machines home to the left. The question is if you choose the front or back as the zero position.

    Great video, thanks for putting it together, and for the assembly instruction video too, do you mind me asking which model of air pump you use and is it sufficient for cutting MDF which I understand needs the higher 0.15Mpa pressure?

    • @BusterBeagle3D
      @BusterBeagle3D  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t know the specifics of mdf but I was using a regular fish air pump that was rated at around 1100 gallons per hour. I’m not sure what the conversion for that is but it seemed to work for my purposes. They are honestly so many to choose from. I really like the XTool version of an air pump but even that seems to have a much cheaper Amazon version as well.

    Dear Ryan, thanks! Such great video and review. And I have maybe a bit not standard question. Could be this machine used also for just drawing? Simply replacing laser wit some pen or pencil? I would need to draw some big drawings automatically and this machine and its size seems to be great. Thanks for help!

    • @BusterBeagle3D

      I suppose you could. Just attach a pen and using the same software draw the outlines or process the image as a dithered image to make a more photo feel out of dots. I haven’t done it myself but don’t see why you couldn’t.

      Make sure you can frame the object are trying to cut. If you can home the laser and the belts and wires to the different stepper motors are all correct then make sure you are not using some sort of rotary attachment setting. Other then that I would need more information about your issue.

    Is there a difference between setting the focus on the adjustable lens and setting the height from the workpiece or are we talking about the same thing?

    • @BusterBeagle3D
      @BusterBeagle3D  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes is a combination of both. Again like I said in the review I prefer the fixed focus where you are only worrying about the height to an adjustable version where you can adjust both.

      You can use a roller with this engraver. Can’t remember if NEJE had a specific one for this machine but if you are looking to do round objects you may want to check out the RA2 Pro from XTool.

    Definitely a tool I'd look at adding to the workshop but the ability to cut acrylic at 3mm min and various opacities is something it'd need to be able to do

      My new Neje 3 max is due any day soon, currently I have an Ortur OLM2 Pro 5.5w, its cuts and engraves black and darker coloured 3mm acrylic no problem, however it will not cut clear acrylic, to my knowledge no diode laser will even the new 20w quad diodes. If my ortur can do it the Neje certainly can, clear acrylic is a big no, the lighter and more translucent the acrylic the less likely it will cut. You can hower etch clear acrylic using various work arounds, there are numerous U-tube vids on this. Hope this helps.

      @@Kun373 I would dearly love to see that post, do you have a link. I've watched every video on this subject that I can find and without exception they all agree that a blue diode laser can not successfully cut clear acrylic. The wavelegnth 450nm just passes clear through it, you can etch by applying a paint or similar coating (I use Rustoleum Black Peel Coat with excellent results) So have we all missed something?

    Hi, my 3 max is due to arrive any day soon so watched both your videos with abvious interest, also watched LA hobby guys video which brings me to my question, you state to bring the X axis gantry to the front rail to syncronize the stepper motors, as does the Neje site. LA hobby guy says push it to the top rail to syncronize, in fact he's just posted in his comments section emphasizing this point. I'm confused. I've also posted the same question on his forum.

    • @BusterBeagle3D
      @BusterBeagle3D  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I assume the result would be the same. The important part is that it’s level. I just push it forward since the limit switches are on the back and it homes towards the rear. Maybe when it’s pushed the the back there is less chance of becoming unlevel while homing? I’m not really sure.

    How to get a response! Thanks

    • @BusterBeagle3D
      @BusterBeagle3D  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s a 1000GPH fish air pump. You don’t have to have it to cut wood but it does a better job with something like it. It blows out the kerf or char that is created when cutting wood that gives you a better cleaner cut. Kulife Large Flow High Pressure... www.amazon.com/dp/B0965T65B1?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

    Hello
    First of all , i want to say thank you for your video. It helps to assambly the frame , as you said in the video the air valve are not matched to the holes , so i drilled the new one , but it didn't help - the holder are not sufficiuте for such application )))
    Secondary , may you say i have few questions :
    1. Do you have the grid file and how did you do it on the board ? I suppose you adjust the lens focus that the beam point can rich the base ( base where you screw the frame), is in it ?
    2. As faк as i uderstood you use the lightburner? will you make some adjestment in the programm ?
    The problem is if i make the cycle in official neje programm , then i will get it , but lightburner makes the cycle with the lines (the shape is looks like a cycle , but visualy it is not like a cycle)&
    Thank you in advance.

      As for your second question I think you are saying that you are trying to burn a circle and it’s not coming out as a circle? I would first make sure that your belts are not too loose and then I would run some tests to see if you need to adjust your E STEPS. Here is a video that should explain what I’m talking about. th-cam.com/video/ZRXVhWA2kqk/w-d-xo.html

    Please tell me, are you sure that its optical power is 12W?
    Обращаюсь ко всем, чем больше вы навешиваете железа на движущиеся части, тем больше происходят колебания лазерного блока и всего станка (инертность) относительно фанеры.
    И получается кривизна в конце и в начале линии. Так получается нечёткость и размазанность по углам картинки. Старайтесь делать станину (основание станка) тяжелее, а движущиеся части облегчайте. Все тяжести лучше крепить на станину. И будет лучше. Удачи коллега, и спасибо за хорошее видео, мне ты помог.
    Я имею такой лазер, но всё ещё не знаю, какая у него мощность. 40w или 80w.

      Hello. The one I had said it was 12W of output power. When you see 40W or 80W Machine power there are just talking about the machine itself and not the laser output power. It's a dishonest marketing ploy to get people to think that machines are more powerful then they actually are. All you ever need to look at is Output power.
