As a latino gay man who has had to deal with generational trauma, suicide thoughts and a bad relationship with my mother, this movie destroyed me, specially the part where Joy says, "Stop, i dont want to hurt anymore and for some reason when I am with you, it just hurts the both of us, so please just let me go" but it also made me try to make the attempts to understand her and even tho we still have a very hard relationship it is way more better than it was before i saw this movie. And have seen it like 8 times and every time I still cry.
OMG, same here. Also gay Latino who's family moved to Canada from Colombia when I was a toddler. During that scene you mentioned with Joy in the parking lot, I thought of my mother and myself. I know what you mean. XO
@@torontomame Let's cheer for these difficult mothers and their though love, and for those who still can make amends I would highly recommend you do. For those that can't I can say this for sure, blood doesn't necessarily means family you can choose ur own family believe me! XO

This movie impacted me in ways I never felt before in my life. Out of all of my 17 years living, this movie opened my eyes and mind. An absolute emotional trainwreck but in a good way. The ending made me ugly cry so bad. I watched it on my phone. The most powerful scenes ever and I'm glad you felt the same.

Wish more people would see this movie in the theatre when it was released last year.
The impact from the big screen and loud sound made this movie even more impactful. The flashing images, the sound effects and the transitions were out of this world. What's so brilliant about this movie is while it is fun, gross, silly and wild, there is a core message about being kind to others and repairing damaged relationship in life. You only have one life and one path you have chosen. Enjoy your moment. Let go of "what if's". Be present.
I am so happy I saw it the first week in a theater. It should be an annual tradition to show at least once a year for a week on the big screen.

I've watched a LOT of reactions to this movie and the one or two who didn't cry were the small, small minority. This movie seems to be really great at touching people no matter who they are and yes, making them cry. Loved the movie, great reaction!

It's always a genuine reaction when the tears happen because it hits close to home and heart....also I tripped out so hard because you have the exact same teapot and french press that I have, LOL

Old white guy here. Saw it in the theatre the first week. Absolutely blown away! Easily top 3 for me also. Might end up being #1 in a couple years.
I think this is my favorite movie of all time! Great review! I've seen this 7 times. I work at a senior community in Chicago, and actually showed it a couple weeks ago to 25 seniors. Some walked out. Some loved it. As a gay 52yo Filipino guy who's mother is fading away with Alzheimers, this really hit me in the right way.
Damn this movie, this movie made me cried, at least I am not alone.

I say the samething in all the reaction video of this movie: this movie perfectly demonstrate the differences between a cinema and a theme park; a good cinema not only makes us feel all the emotions but it might also make us start to re-think the meaning of our life, again.
It remind me why I love movie because I and experience the emotion and thought of the characters in it convert it to my perspective of the world and life.
However most of the movies nowadays are just theme park you got thrill for a while then the samething all over again, and yet now they are adding more political correctness in it 😔
