"If you can't sing, don't be a singer." LEGENDARY lmao. The amount of current idols who are mostly only visuals are shaking in their boots. IVY is so iconic for keeping on going despite everyone trying to come for her. I'm glad she stayed strong.
Everytime a talented woman gets some popularity, she immediately need to be crushed by people and society and to be shamed for her choices in her romantic life (which is no one business). This is sickening to see everything she went through. Poor woman. Thank you for bringing her story to us.
I mean, it's good that the agency took action straight away towards her ex-boyfriend it's really disappointing and disgusting how invasive the media can be to the point where something she once dreamed of got sabotaged. It shows how agencies and the media don't help much or protect artists because of greed. But I'm glad she still kept going even after everything that happened.
Huh? You…quite literally contradicted your own comment within..your comment. You first say that it is good her agency took action right away and tried to protect and support her and save her career…aaaand then you claim the exact opposite- that agencies don’t help artists much. Huhhhh lol?? Her companies did the best they could and continued giving her comebacks. The only company that messed up was the one that chose to market her the wrong way after the sex tape situation by making an mv look like..a sex tape. Horrible marketing..however, her companies still supported her throughout it all. I’m not sure that claim holds up…also, of course companies will focus on making profit because they cannot exist without it…the artists cannot exist without it. I just don’t want folks confusing a business running a business and a company just being greedy AF like YG for example. I think her companies took chances with her, especially by giving her ballads. They tried and they supported her, with the exception of that one fck up mistake of a music video ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻i hope this gives you a different perspective to consider ☺️🤗✌🏻
@@lemonaidebey6190 I know like why should he be allowed to remain anonymous when he's basically dragging her name and reputation through the mud literally.
the responses that the general public have are insane sometimes ! why did ivy get punished because of her ex leaking revenge porn?!!! like why did everyone turn against her for that? just awful
sadly i have never heard of ivi until now. She seems like such a talented and unique artist, and it's almost infuriating to see how much people ask for sexy concepts or praise idols when they accidentally show a little more skin than usual, but when an idol decides to do a mature/sexy concept they're bashed and looked down upon (specially and dare i say almost exclusively women)
..Especially***. Also, there is a huge difference between sensuality and showing a bit of a sexy side and vulgarity and being overtly sexual. SKorea is a conservative nation and there is NOTHING wrong with that…no nation needs to Westernize, period. They can exist exactly how they are. If these artists choose to make money from and within a Korean company and be supported by Korean fans (literally…financially supported by fan support) then they ought to respect the culture as well. Most idols adore their culture and have no issues with it…like most people around the world 🙄🤦🏻🤦🏻♀️ffs. They forgave her and received her well when she came back with a heartfelt ballad…but it was simply a stupid marketing decision to then mess up all of that hard work and progress by releasing a music video that was overtly sexual and resembled the very sex tape that almost ruined her career. That wasn’t..clever lol it was horrible marketing that took back all the progress she made with her ballad. Very dumb mistake. The public forgave and took her back and supported her each and every time…she still has a thriving career. I think you ought to understand the difference between what overt sexual imagery looks like in other parts of the world and what simple a “sexy” concept looks like (and fyi, it will be different from one nation to the next…I can guarantee you that what is sexy in one culture would be way too much in another and what is sexy in another would be misunderstood by other cultures. The point is to RESPECT all nations and their cultures, especially if you choose to partake in it by consuming their music.) i hope this helps to better understand it all 🤗🤗🤗
I found out about Ivy after she and Tiffany ended up sharing the role of Roxie in the 2021 run of Chicago, I knew she was a soloist but I never knew how popular she truly was/is and her ties with JYP...her performing with Nickhun tho lol I wonder if she and Tiff talked about him after they became friends.
dude I wanna take a moment and thank you for the amount of work you put in your videos. youre raising awareness on serious issues while making actually interesting videos that one would actually enjoy watching! thank you!! keep up the good work
God, I watched that Final Fantasy music video when I was a kid and loved it- I actually squinted at your title and said "huh, is that the same IVY who did Temptation of Sonata?" Zero idea it had any controversy to it. I would hope no one blames her, specifically, for the video: Her company's legal team/production team or whatever would have been the ones responsible for getting permission from SquareEnix to use Final Fantasy in their video, not her.
Really hate how disgustingly possessive, sexist, and grossly discriminatory netizens are. This is why, as someone who's been a K-pop fan since Gen1 I just avoid this nonsense. I feel so bad that Ivy had to endure the amount of bs she got and the males who did the scandalous things to her weren't held accountable including Psy not getting the backlash for the "sexual" track. Yes the blackmailer went to jail but he was still released. They should've slapped a gag order on him to never be able to talk about her ever again
this is honestly so infuriating the vast majority of those "scandals" weren't even her fault, just people around her messing up or straight up committing crimes against her. And instead of feeling sympathy for her, society blamed her and tried to shut her up when she expressed her feelings about it through art I'm glad she's happy in her new career as a musical actress but I wish the circumstances that led her there were different...
this is my first time learning about Ivy. I found her story very, very interesting. I admire her for not backing down despite it all!!! I love when you make this kind of video
Ivy's discography is probably in my top 3 discography of korean artists overall I'm not kidding, like its litterally so good, sent from the angels above, flawless and perfect,if only scandals didn't affect her career the way they did (even though without those scandals I probably whould never have heard her music since I litteraly checked it out because of the final fantasy plagiarism)
I always get so excited when I see your uploads! I always learn new things from Your videos & they’re so interesting/keep my attention. Keep up the great work! 💜💜💜
Soo all of her scandals are just some speculation and rumors made my her haters and thats it the ned of her career this is so unfair , the problem is people still doing this
watch the videos about baby vox, they got terrorised by boy group fans and a lot of physical and death threats over a dating rumour that wasn't even real
I was first introduced to Ivy by temptation of sinata. That song was such a hit. My favorite song from her is Cupid. The spunky aegyo is infectious still! Lol
Thank you for making this videoo. Ivy is probably one of the first Kpop artists i ever saw. I hope you also have a video about another singer that debut a few years after Ivy. Her name is Son Dam Bi.
I really love IVY, she's one of my top fav korean singers since her I BE release. I think that's her best album. I like that she had enough of all that mess and just decided to go for a sexy concept. I personally suggest the album every time I can because it's so underrated. She's always heavily criticized by knetz for her sentimental life but also because she loves luxurious items from top fashion brands. Like they always try to put her down no matter what she does, even the most random things. I've always found that so upsetting because it has nothing to do with her talent. Her agency was so bad. But also I find it funny that somehow JYP is always included in everyone's career somehow. What about a Jewelry video next?🤍
Even if Ivy did cheat on her bf, like who cares? That's irrelevant gossip imo that shouldnt have affected her career. I notice a pattern where if a female celeb is suspected of cheating, she is the worst thing ever. It's ironic with how the 9 tail fox character is mentioned and beloved all throughout Korean media from movies, shows to songs. When a real woman possibly* lives out that character in private then it's clutching of the pearls sigh..
