  • In todays video I address a very common question that i get!
    Does your silverado/sierra have stamped steel upper control arms and if so do you need to replace them when you do a leveling kit!

    I have a 8” bds suspension lift on my 2015 Chevy 1500 4x4 and my angles are exactly like stock. Bds makes one of the best lifts! Running 37” aturro trail blade mts’s and 22x12 rims -51. Now for an exhaust and front and rear bumpers!

    I got a 7" Rough Country drop diff lift kit with their new forged UCAs and they don't touch my front coil springs at full droop even when the trucks on a lift for oil changes. Highly recommend them, RC is making good stuff now 4Wheel Parts professionaly installed mine. ;)

    Running the 3.5 RC Knuckle kit on my Chevy, same wheel & tire set up as well. Only about 5000miles on it but absolutely leaves all the angles great and have had amazing luck with it. Still running SS upper control arms also.

      Holden Fairfield this is perfect! I have a 2018 sierra and was wondering if the RC 3.5 knuckle kit was good!!

      Connor Bain definitely a solid option. If you’re looking to do the same wheel & tire trimming may be needed so they don’t rub

    Just bought the Readylift UCA's on Amazon last week for $336. Putting them on this weekend with the Motofab 3" front spacers and 2" rear blocks.

    I have a 3 inch Motofab level on my 2012 Ford F-150 and it broke both of the boots on the control arms. Just got the freedom Offroad 2-4 inch lift uppers and they’re getting out on right now

    Do you happen to know the part number to replace the ball joints in the upper control arm?

  • @octane0702
    @octane0702 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I would like to advice everyone if u have any level or lift with stamped upper arms, upgrade to beefier and better aftermarket control arms. The ball joint on mine popped out the arm while i was driving. Stabilitrak and all kinds of lights w/ steering came on. Luckily nothing bad happened because i was only going 15 mph and was able to make it home. And all the lights corrected itself after i replaced the part. Please take the advice lol

      What do u recommend for the brand and do they take lower control arms too ?

    • @octane0702
      @octane0702 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      David Estrada you should be fine with keeping the lower control arms stock. Its the upper ones that are a problem due to the angle. Any aftermarket ones will do pretty much. I got the readylift ones like in the video. Cheap on amazon.

    • @davidestrada1335
      @davidestrada1335 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cool so he mentions the motofab ones he will try out are specifically made for a 21/2”-3” level kit , is this also recommended for a 6” lift kit or any lift in general ?

    • @octane0702
      @octane0702 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      David Estrada i would recommend for any type of lift. I personally have a 6.5” on mine

  • @kylebslife7910
    @kylebslife7910 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    No the biggest you can got is 3 in on top of the strut and 2 in spacer on the bottom of the strut so that would be 5in total of lift out of combined level kit. So $420 on ctrl arms and $200 on the level kit., At that point you mine as well get a 4-6 in suspension lift which is only a couple hundred dollars more

    • @lmfscrew
      @lmfscrew  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      if you're going to do double spacers might as well do a strut lift too and just explode the front upon install lol the cheapest 6" is going to cost you 1k and require cutting and a install the most aren't comfortable doing. So then you have to add labor for a shop to install it. Like myself some don't want to lift our trucks that high.

    • @jacobcollins7407
      @jacobcollins7407 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kyle B can you run the added spacer on the bottom with a aftermarket upper control arm with no problems?

      Holy shit that sounds like a bad idea. I'm known to make bad decisions and even I wouldn't combine a 2 inch spacer with a 3 inch spacer lol. I have a 2 inch level on my 2015. I'd like to install a lift on it but I'm not sure how I feel about cutting up such an expensive truck.

    Just waiting for my warranty to expire.
    Not going to kill a 100k

      If I put the lift on ,it voids ANY work for the front end of the truck..
      I can wait
      I will have everything ready to go
