Dude, very impressed with your casting skills!! That rebel crawfish has always been a favorite of mine for creek or lake fishing. Add a modified carolina rig to your arsenal and you will be unstoppable! Use a 1/8 ounce slip sinker, a bright red bead, small swivel, no more than 18 inches of 4 lb or six lb line line below the swivel and a number 8, or number 10 red hook, preferably a long shank hook to keep them from swallowing the hook. Fish up the creek , casting toward the riffles and slowly pull the bait down stream into the deeper still water. good fishing! Paul O.

I live not far from Toledo Ohio and fish the large rivers , but also fish lots of small creeks ....Small and Large mouth bass , Rock bass , White Bass , Cat fish and lots of pan fish ... from 4" sunfish to 20 lb channel Catfish
I live 40 minutes from Winston Salem and would've never thought of fishing creeks there! But if you're still in NC you should try the Yadkin river on the way back home its a lil bit bigger too
Great channel John. Keep cranking these out and inspiring us to fish more. We have some cold water here in Michigan but the panfish are getting active and the bass are starting to hit the shallows. Love the intro with the 'gil coming up to the camera....that is awesome!
Yes! 👍 spotted bass are my favorite bass to catch too!..they are loaded in my creeks here..reminds me of Long Branch creek here..it floods every time it rains.turns into a small river
John! Dude! About a mile south of there, close to the intersection of Peters Creek and Silas Creek Parkways, there is a Mexican Restaurant called "Monterrey". I used to eat in there every week when I lived in Winston-Salem. A few doors down from there is a great Chinese Buffet called "Hong Kong King Buffet". I was constantly in and out of those places when I lived in Winston. Monterrey had the best Enchiladas you could get in that part of NC. By the way, it's sad to see that much trash in that creek. It was always a problem, appears to have gotten a lot worse. Guys used to tell me all the time that was a great creek for fishing. You hit'em hard....good for you!!! G

Those were some good creek bass, I love that rebel craw, another good creek fishing bait is a mini wacy rig and a drop shot, I've had so much luck with those rigs. Tight lines and happy fishing. 🤙🎣🤘
Love the channel. Reminds me of when my brother and I were kids in early to mid 90's in upstate SC. We'd hop on our bikes with a rod and a rebel grasshopper. Think I may have to grab the ol spinner and find a creek tomorrow.

#358👍That explains why you were in NC. My small town (man made) lake (Central coast CA) was finally stocked with Triploid Sterile Trout yesterday after years of drought and zero stocked fish . I had to go throw my lines in. 1/2oz gold Kastmaster lure landed one of the larger trout and 15 minutes later, a large small mouth bass that I thought for sure was another trout. Big surprise. My personal jones, satisfied in short order. 🎣
You drove through my home town Andrews I knew those mountains ridges when I saw them. The Nantahala river has some good fishing in it. I don't get home much anymore live in Florida now. Some good fishing in that area if you know were to go.
I live in Greenville, NC tons of little creeks that spawn off of the smaller rivers here. (None as long as the Tennessee river), I do not know how close to the coast you are coming to but make sure your license includes inland and salt if you are going close to the coast. Many creeks are brackish. Good luck

Boy I know north Carolina has really confused people with all there new licences and all there new non game fishing regulations are crazy now... I didn't know what linence to buy .Because I am a trout fishing guide my self and I think you have to have that special lienece.. I don't understand it.. I mean do you have to have a special kind of license to catch bait with a cast net in fresh water now... and I had to buy that mountain heritage stamp just to fish a couple of trout streams in ash county which I fish a lot. That stamp is only good for 3 days.. so I'm going to have to buy that every time I go fish those creeks.. that sucks.. you have to have it to fish in those creeks starting this year...love grenville north Carolina me and my wife went to East Carolina university... but we are orginally from Asheville north Carolina. Believe or not Mike Houston was my football coach in high school in Asheville At T.C. Roberson high.. we are in winston Salem now.. we have a house in Holden beach though..

(Sad Story) Just tell them who you are and they are nice. Any place on Swift Creek. Snow Hill, NC, behind the Court House on Contentnea Creek. Battle Park Upper Falls Tar River, Rocky Mount, NC. Most of these are public access areas. I have filled a bucket at each of these places.
Omg major nostalgia with your travels before your first stop. I lived in North Carolina for 20 yrs. Traveled that road in the mountains many times. One work of advice do not fish the haw river in burlington, haw river,or pittsboro. Polluted with fecal matter. Lake cammack has good bass. Also head to Jordan lake and fish the trail race below Jordan dam. Huge catfish. The stinckier the bate the better.
I live about 30 minutes east of Winston Salem,we had some bad flooding early last month,its trash like that everywhere around here at the creeks and rivers,keep up the great work!!

I've been doin this kind of fishing and all other types since I was a young kid in the 80s. I was lucky to live in North Alabama where all we had was woods and waters. I remember always wanting to find the smallest creek or water holes possible to catch a fish. No matter the species. I've caught many types of fish, but light weight gear is my go to for excitement. Fish on!!!

I went creek fishing yesterday in lexington nc and slayed the white bass. Theyre running from the creek to high rock lake for spawning. In two weeks its the crappie.

Yadkin is awesome... big strippers, small mouth, large mouth, trout, rock bass, big flat heads, some people say there is walleye and muskie too

I went creek fishing yesterday in lexington nc and slayed the white bass. Theyre running from the creek to high rock lake for spawning. In two weeks its the crappie.
