I grew up fishing around SE Arkansas with my grandfather. These videos bring back so many memories of those days. I’ve been confined to a wheelchair for nearly 24 years now (since age 27) so I reeeally appreciate your great YT channel. Thanks!!👊😎
100% that racoon was in the early stages of rabies. They get extremely thirsty and hungry. If it had been a day or two later when you found him, he would have tried to come after you. They make a horrible growl/screech when they're rabid. Also, where I live we have the rare Roanoke bass. They are very similar to rock bass, but have slightly different genetics, which makes them a different species. However, their native range is dwindling due to the introduction of rock bass, which can outcompete, and also have hybridized with the Roanokes, as well as land conversion for urban sprawl. The NC fish and wildlife service has introduced the fish, along with smallmouth in past years to the Uwharrie river in southern central NC.
When I was a boy growing up in North Alabama, we'd catch a stringer of those rock bass and red eye bass and fry em up on the bank with my buddy's as we swam and just hung out after ball practice. Some great memories creekin'.
Seeing you catch those Red Eyes reminds me of my Dad, plus i was through there on I-75 yesterday. Dad dies in February and asked me while he was in the hospital if i ate any of the red eyes i caught out of my creek. Thanks so much for a great video!
Love your videos, mystery fish looks like a motled sculpin. Usually found in good water conditions. I actually keep some in my basement native fishroom.
Catching a ton of fish and having someone to share the experience with! That’s the kind of day that would put a smile on anyone’s face! As usual, thanks for the verse :).
He did see the fish flopping enough to pounce and kill, but I was thinking old age and maybe cataracts. Dunno, but that boy ain't actin' natural at all!
Julie Wilkinson Yes, they can be dangerous when sick/rabies.etc. My wife and I were walking on a gravel road on a hot day in the afternoon, and an adolescent raccoon charged us on the road and I had to discourage it with a stick. It wanted to bite us. I wish I had the 22 with me, because I know it was suffering and dangerous. Rabies, I’m sure.
All those good-sized Rock Bass would make for some good eating. I know you don't cook much, but if you fillet them, and then season them with salt, pepper, and garlic powder and then bake them at 375 for around 15 minutes, they're pretty good.
We call them Rock Bass "Goggle eyes" here in Indiana.😊. Looked like Tyler was fishing' for squirrels for a minute there... Lol. I like your vids! Keep'em coming👍🏻
Live hellgrammites is great bait the Nikko ones are awesome as u know but it's hard to beat the real ones .Smallmouth candy.Another great video man Keep em coming
Jon that deep part of creek that you posted on April 20 would be a great place to fish a Countdown Rapala.lt sinks at one foot per second and is great for deep pools.
Things I don't pick up: Water snakes. I don't know a poisonous one from a harmless one and I've given up more than one fishing spot to a snake. Your buddy is braver than I am.
Have you ever used the "Joe's flies" spinners? I have great luck using them on a variety of species, trout, panfish, the occasional bass or redeye, and yellow perch. If you haven't tried them I'd recommend a "black gnat" or a "white miller".
I will definitely be looking at that Serpent rod. We seem to like the same type of rods so if you have A Dick’s Sporting Goods near you, let me recommend the Lew’s Carbon Fire 6’,9” medium light rod. The new one for 2020 is outstanding. I have been catching Sunfish, Perch, Pickerel and Trout out of a local pond and it has been great.
Racoon during the day probably has distemper. Could be rabies but distemper is more common in most areas and presents similarly. Probably dead in a few days, poor guy. Had one in the yard this past summer and called animal control. They were the ones that explained about distemper vs. rabies. Still, always be safe around racoons during the day, especially if they are acting aggressive.
I saw a video from a long time ago when you fished with the Trout Slayer craws, and I decided to order the kit. I used them in my local creek and caught some bass and big panfish. You should try using them for smallies or coosa bass!
What polarized sunglasses do you recommend? Is there a difference in the effectiveness of expensive versus economical polarized sunglasses used in fishing?
You looking for your camera, can't remember where it is... Reminded me of Dad's favorite excuse: "Oh, it's all right-- my memory is what I forget with! " 😁 One other observation: that 'coon wasn't acting naturally. My first instinct says, "Leave it strictly alone!" I think you guys are fortunate that neither of you ended up needing Urgent Care, but I also understand enjoying all of God's creation. Good times!
Oh when you do come to west Tennessee you gotta try going to pick wick dam and cat fishing because there is some monsters down there 1000+ pound catfish.
It’s always a good feeling being close to nature. That raccoon 🦝 could’ve been someone’s pet how calm it was. I think that underwater fish was an algae eater.
Beautiful raccoon! I'm certain that's not normal behavior (rabies?) for them to be not scared of ya. Unless, it's used to folks fishing down there or feeding it. One of my favorite critters! My spirit animal (said, sort of jokingly) is the opossum. I bet the raccoons can turn those rocks over just like you did and get some tender vittles (ie: helgramites). I've seen Dobson flies occasionally in Southern Maryland which are not very big. I just learned (doing them googles) that the helgramite are the larvae of Dobsonfly. What's the biggest helgramite you've seen alive? Surely not as large as your artificial bait(?). Anyway, cool video dude ! I'm a subscriber. I don't subscribe to a lot of TH-cam channels. I like deermeatfordinner, BA Fishing, bluegabe and StanzFam :)
Hey man. Quick question. I fish a creek by my house that you never know what you’re gonna get. 6 pound cats to 2 pound spots to small blue gill. What line do you recommend? Using an ultralight set up mostly. Awesome vid. Those rock bass always look so mean
Creek Fishing Adventures I wanted to swap over to braid but I get snagged and break off so often that I feel like I’m better off with the mono. I will give the 4 pound mono a try.

Seeing you catch those Red Eyes reminds me of my Dad, plus i was through there on I-75 yesterday. Dad dies in February and asked me while he was in the hospital if i ate any of the red eyes i caught out of my creek. Thanks so much for a great video!
If that raccoon would have jumped on Tylers head we would have seen an episode of Creek Dancing Adventures, y'all be safe out there.

These videos are amazing. Love the humble feel. Stay true man, and fish on!
I think the racoon was trying to turn over rocks looking for hellgramites! Everything loves them. Another great video, thanks!

That was a really wonderful video. That racoon is a really nice guy. Great fishing day. 😊
You should come fish in some of the creeks around Somerset Kentucky I catch plenty of smallmouth over 3 pounds
Samuel, hooked any walleye out of Rockcastle River this spring?
No I’m still hoping to get one but Ive caught plenty of smallmouth out of there! Have you?
Looks like a sweet location for sure!

Awesome video! Action round every corner
Was that racoon blind? What do You think guys? Interesting.
He did see the fish flopping enough to pounce and kill, but I was thinking old age and maybe cataracts. Dunno, but that boy ain't actin' natural at all!
I think it was blind... it could have felt the vibration and noise from the fish
Be careful getting that close to raccoons. That one didn't appear well. It may have been very old. Thank you for an awesome video.

I wish we had rock bass in Idaho. They seem like they are so much fun to catch.
Try a 1/32 oz bettle spins I guarantee you will catch alot
Jon that deep part of creek that you posted on April 20 would be a great place to fish a Countdown Rapala.lt sinks at one foot per second and is great for deep pools.
You really slayed the rock bass in this video

Great video!! 🎣💯
Things I don't pick up: Water snakes. I don't know a poisonous one from a harmless one and I've given up more than one fishing spot to a snake. Your buddy is braver than I am.
The masked bandit was cool...wonder way he was so friendly...
Nice vid!! In my country is not allowed to go fishing, u are a lucky man.
we are allowed to fish all over in my part of the country
Yep, u are lucky. In Romania, eastern Europe, only commercial fishing is allowed, sadly. Keep up with your videos, they are great,!

i like 1/10 oz zman shroom jigheads
Creek Fishing Adventures thanks man!
Great Video! Hey What kind of Camera are u using? The Exact Make, Model, etc and $$$?
I use that rebel cricket for trout fishing
Get you a beetlespin and a crappie jig/ threadfin shad......you won't miss.

i have not used those in a while, i will get those back out
Those are some huge rock bass
What polarized sunglasses do you recommend? Is there a difference in the effectiveness of expensive versus economical polarized sunglasses used in fishing?
i use spiderwire from walmart, they are $15 never used expensive ones
The “rare to see” fish looked like a mottled sculpin or possibly another fish in the Cottus genus
im pretty sure banded sculpin
I have caught one on hook and line
I think you are right I was close though. Awesome find! I have seen very few sculpins in my life and I think I’ve only seen mottled.
@@CreekFishingAdventures sculpin lures work almost as good as the hellgrammites. At least in my experience. God bless
no way! that is so awesome! who can say they hand fed a wild raccoon a fish and it be successful lol

Y’all should do a video of fishing in Georgia at random creek and river
I luv rock bass
So, was that little guy a Banded Sculpin (Cottus carolinae) or a Round Goby: (Neogobius melanostomus) ??? Thanks in advance.
yep banded sculpin
Hey dude when are you going to come to west Tennessee
i dont know, i wish the wweather would stabilize
Oh when you do come to west Tennessee you gotta try going to pick wick dam and cat fishing because there is some monsters down there 1000+ pound catfish.
I live in middle Tennessee too, near Nashville. I love fishing what part of middle Tennessee is this at?
hendersonville

i have only seen a few alive, maybe 1 1/2 inch. i plan to search for more this summer
No quarantine over there

4 lb mono on ultralight can handle a lot, i am liking the 10 lb braid with a 8 lb leader
Creek Fishing Adventures I wanted to swap over to braid but I get snagged and break off so often that I feel like I’m better off with the mono. I will give the 4 pound mono a try.
The raccoon has distemper. It's really bad here in east Tennessee.
You don't see raccoons in the daytime unless they have rabies, he wasn't navigating very well, Y'all was lucky . . .
Daniel Deneau that’s inaccurate
@@matthewcornelison4786 or squished on the side of the road . . .
Thanks Matthew I googled it, I stand corrected 😌
lmao at the "ALTHOUGH I COULD"

@@CreekFishingAdventures thanks! How do you like the reel?
Thoso r some nice fish man
