Sno Parks like Little John, et al, have warming shelters with big woodstoves and firewood if you get in a clutch situation; you already have a Sno Park pass because you spent the night, so you can use those facilities if you need to. Overnight in a white out is still safer than being anywhere near the coast right now.

DK van content is the best. Every time I have a bad day at the office I imagine myself leaving it all behind to roam the country in a NASA van. I'm sure I'd last 3 days.

FWIW, I've found that good sleep for me depends on mimicking my bed at home as much as possible. I've gotten 95% of the way there and feel like sleep 95% as well as I do at home in my own bed when I'm camping in a tent now. With an Exped Megamat Max mattress, fitted sheet, unzipped sleeping bag as a big duvet and a light down blanket on top, two pillows, and full jammies and earplugs, I never get cold and feel about the same as I do in my own bed. it's the only part of my camping kit where I'm not looking at your van and getting completely jealous of. to? towards.

I wouldn’t even stop at all night! I run my Eberspacher D2 with the same Easystart Pro controller 24/7. I live in my van with a cat and my partner and we treat it like central heating, especially with that controller! I did the math once and on a 24 us gallon diesel tank it would run for between 30 days at constant max fuel consumption to 300 days at minimum. Effectively it can’t burn through more than a gallon in 24 hours no matter how hard it tries. And in practice as others have said, its consumption will rarely if ever be noticeable on the vehicle’s fuel gauge. Smoke em if you got em! Imagine coming back to a warm van after that Nordic adventure!!
    Dope video as usual dude.

We camp at mt baker in our van nearly every weekend in the winter. We have an espar and we keep it at 64 f all night, usually for two or three nights over a weekend plus morning and evening hang time. I never see any appreciable change on the gas gauge. Just set it to whatever temp you want and the mobius strip (infinite) for time and you’ll be good to go. Battery will run out far sooner than fuel.

Your morning outfit had some serious cookie monster vibes. I agree that the duffel doesn't make a lot of practical sense to use a standard duffel, but I'm guessing it was designed for use while on a bike which creates some non-standard use case requirements. The mesh was an interesting idea, but I think it would make more sense on the top of the bag so that vapor can travel out of the bag.

If you want to be warm during the night, eat some chocolate before you go to sleep, your body works harder pumping blood around your body to process the chocolate digestion, hence you stay warmer. You could always substitute the chocolate for cheese as it has the same effect.

I was confused about the fuel comment. The engine isn’t running to feed the alternator, right? So sure it won’t drain the tank.
