Amazing first go at the split side skirt - you nailed the pockets! And the way you sewed the two panels together on the side is exactly how I do it too. Love it!
THANK YOU!! You have inspired me a LOT! I want to try and make split-side pants next. Thank you for letting me know about sewing up the sides, I’m glad to know I did it right.
Well, thank you so much! I'm glad you like your creation! Thank you for pointing the things u would change or do next time. I can now go from there and begin. This was a very informative and interesting video 👍
Thanks for sharing. I am intending to make one of these and plan to use bra extenders for the front closure (of back skirt) as well. Good to see that worked out. I am considering using shorter ties and D rings on the side for adjustable ties (of the front skirt) at the sides. I thought I saw a video of someone who did that with a wool plaid skirt, but cannot find it. Great idea about the curved waistband and marking the font/back.
I love this video! The explanation of your thinking about the pockets made a lot of sense to me. Charlie from The Stitchery has given me confidence to actually start and think your work will also help me to get going.
I have subscribed. I feel you have potential. To secure those loops you could sew the loops to the seam allowance before you close the waistband. Then no stitching is seen on the out side. Please note. You really should not have sewn using the selvedge as it will not behave equally with the drape. Also, please iron more. A great video on ironing is the Bernadette Banner video on pressing. Well worth watching.
you should have thrifted the fabric. you should not use selvage edges. they will not behave like the other part. it is very nice looking. her name is Charley or Charlie not. sure. you should say she does not use patterns 99% of the time. Her creations come from somewhere deep in her ID.
Love that you are sharing your journey learning to sew!

Thanks for adding your thought processes while working out the design. I really appreciate it.
This was so clear and helpful thank you!
Great job! I love it!
I'm really glad TH-cam suggested this video to me! I'm learning to sew and have been considering making this style, too. This was really helpful :)
