cutting everything out beforehand seems so nice! the workflow must be so much better. i always dread starting a project because i know the pain that will come from sitting on the floor to cut everything out 🤣
Its so not cheating cutting everything out beforehand. You did say "sew" not "make from scratch" in one day lol. You were clever to get everything ready ahead of time. I love everything. You did very well. Thank you for sharing.
I'm glad I'm not the only weirdo who cuts a project out and lets it sit for over a year lol! I love that you added new pieces to your wardrobe for free since you used your stash! (Girl math....) If you use PDF patterns and a projector, I'd really love to see the process. I'm still using paper patterns and feel I need to get on the projector bandwagon.
Just started the beginner tote bag! first project ever and its going pretty good. SO glad I found your channel, its exactly what I needed to start my sewing journey!
I love gathering too! I’m a young sewist and I’ve made a few skirts so far, gathering is so calming for me. Plus I love the outcome! I also just got my first serger so it’ll make gathering a little more fun (talking about the fraying fabric! It was the only part I hated about gathering)
Lovely sewing projects. Everything looked great when you tried them on. Thank you for sharing your sewing session with us. I had a fun time. Look forward to watching you make that vest. Love the colors.
I had so much fun sewing with you today! I loooove the fall skirt and brown Lane pants. Also I'm new to the bias tape maker and am obsessed! It is like magic!
Loved your marathon. What a treat. I love to see more like this. Your makes are great. The other plans are good to look forward to, I hope you get them made up.🎉
I grew up with a Mother who was a really good sewer. She made winter coats for her children and many evening gowns for herself. I have made a few things in my life. But it was never a good sewer. I wish I had the skills to make alterations and the occasional basic item. I enjoyed watching you create these items.
Oh I’ve been wanting to make some slimmer leg lanes for a while now! I’m not super experienced, so I have been apprehensive about it. This is going to help me a lot. Thanks!!
I love your sewing shed!!!! I pray one day I can have a similar space to not only sew but paint and maybe make pottery ☺️🙏🏼❤️ what a way to spend the day!! I currently have two little ones so this would not really be an option for me yet but maybe one day 🥺 (though with how I eat and get hungry I would be eating so much while working haha!!)
My favorite book I read so far this year is "The Great Alone" by Kristin Hannah. Honestly, I recommend any Kristin Hannah books, all the ones I read have been 5 stars. Also the Beartown series by Frederick Backman is soooooo good. Tears everywhere. Love everything you made!!
I was cracking up at the beginning when you were talking about being hesitant to use the gauze because, in what can only be described as a moment of complete delusion, I made my quilted Syd Tie Dress with a double gauze instead of linen. Absolute nightmare of a decision that drove me to the brink of insanity while I worked through the construction 😂 (BUT it did end up being beautiful and SO comfortable and breezy for summer!)
LOVE an audiobook to sew to! This might sound weird but The Stand by Stephen King is such an amazing 48 hour audiobook. && if you want twists, I just listened to The Silent Patient, though it isn't very long. And if you haven't read Ninth House + Hell Bent by Leigh Bardugo, they're super fun semi-dark "low fantasy" (magic in the real world type vibes)
Okay, I cannot for the life of me stop recommending Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo! If you like dark fantasy (speculative fiction really, but you know), you have to try Ninth House! Perfect book for fall, very dark and spooky and amazing!
I’m taking a sewing class soon and your videos make me soooo excited. I can’t wait to learn from you too 🫶 Would you ever do a video or tiktok on how you record/edit and what things you use?
Syd! So much in this video! First, -I love your content❤ you got my creative/sewing bug out of me -Girl! Share the hair tutorial?! I'm obsessed 😅 -I've only precut 3 or 4 my projects and have not even sat down and got my machine all week (I've got 2 under 2). I am so jealous you got 12h+ in! -You are so talented and please never stop sharing your knowledge ❤ Lastly, can I move into your home? (Not in a weird way) but I you literally have the perfect set up!
curious about what this style would be called is it like a new take on boho? Looks so comfy and grownup at the same time, I don't know how to search for it

I like to listen to audiobooks while sewing too. But I've been in a pirates mood and started to read " The ever king" series by Lj Andrews, I am reading the second book and I already recommend it..
Can I just ask, is there a reason that you use clips instead of pins on your seams? I’ve noticed a lot of sewers are using them but I find them a bit clunky, if thats even a word .😀 so I thought I’d ask someone who does a lot of sewing…😬
It's entirely preference! I find them super helpful and often faster for certain construction elements, while sometimes standard pins do the trick better. I switch back and forth.
@@HiSydGrahamthere’s a simple trick - you cut the thread, add the new one, tie the know and then put tension to 0 and just let it slide to get rid of the old thread - I’m sure I’ll find a video on that !
i love the video and all your content! It would have been great to have a timer running through the whole video, to get a better sense of time through the video.
For me, it's just tracing patterns and then having to cut out the pattern-urhhhh. That's the biggest hurdle. Once that's out of the way, everything is a breeze.
the sewing shed 😱I'm jealous!

I was going to comment this and ask- how on earth do you do the cutting so that it doesnt break the back?!!!!!
More of these sewing marathons please. I got a lot of sewing done while listening in. 🎉🎉😊

Oh my the shirt is awesome. On the side seam, lengthen the stitch and use the double needle. Your skirt is beautiful.
That sewing room is a dream!
Thank you for your video! It just distracted me from the horror we are living in Valencia. Thank you!!!

Not cheating at all! especially with multiple kids hahah I tend to do cutting prep days and then sewing days. It's direct and efficient.
The blue stripey linen shirt will look super adorable if you take the hem up just above waist! Loved your workshop, inspiring! 🩷

I love Kristin Hannah, also. I love to listen to her books on Audio books while I sew or knit. I would love to sew for 12 hours, I may try to do it!
Yay for everyone else being out of the house so you can sew!
Sewing is relaxing. No need to rush. Just enjoy.
Sometimes it’s fun to have a sewing marathon too, it can still be speedy and enjoyable😊
Pre cutting always ensures you’ll get a lot more done!
Just found your channel from this video and I’m so excited to be here! Obsessed with the pants. Might need to make my own

Love the pants the most. Great video.
Loved this video! So fun, interesting and inspiring!❤
You’re amazing! That was so fun! I love it all!
I love the clothes. Linen pants are gorgeous. I love making bias tape. I would kind of like making really pretty bias tape to sell in cute fabrics.
Love love these outfits. Great job
I love your little container for your pins!
Wow! Love all them❤
This was so fun.
Lovely items! I immediately want to make some autumn clothes now :)

Just finished listening to the book The Decagon House Murders. Really good. Kept me questioning myself the whole time. 😂
Enjoyed this! Also - Deadly education series was such a fun listen! And if you have a book on kindle, Alexa will read it to you.
Alexa does? I can't find how to do this. I would be so grateful if you can help me out with that. ❤
My favourite authors of all time is David and Leah Eddings! But, I do enjoy Sarah J. Maas too!
How nice to have a whole day to yourself to sew!
If you like fantasy, you might enjoy the All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness.
This is so inspiring! I want to start sewing clothes but I’m so intimidated to shop for the fabric.
I literally have a video all about this! It will be so helpful for you th-cam.com/video/6wzGNbVXQWI/w-d-xo.html
