    I wish you'd have reviewed your amp settings. Your tone is insane. We can learn the licks all day long but without this tone will sound like...nevermind. If you had an album out with this and similar songs leave the link if buy it right now. This is what made me love vinnie moore so much...his tone alone told stories and took you to another place in yourself like doing yoga and meditation or acid.... Seriously such a phenomenal sound here...

    rick, you are an incredible guitarist, far far better than myself, i envy your ability, the only thing that frustrates me about this video is the fact that you just teach a Tablature method, what i mean is I would love to know why you choose the notes you do and if you consciously think about what they are in reference to the chords that you are playing over or if you just use your ears, also what your scale choices are? I want to reassure you that I am not complaining, just curious about your approach as I would love to play this way! thank you Matt

  • @rambache
    @rambache 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    What do you call that technique when you do a strong "Power Pick" to one note for it to sound louder, he does it at 3:40 and i think he says the name at 3:43 "Pickking Hammer" maybe?????

    • @Tool_jira_shugg
      @Tool_jira_shugg 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      rambache He says "Pick and hammer" as in hammer on the next note directly after you pick a note.

    • @rambache
      @rambache 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** Thanks i think i heard right, but i've always wondered, what is it called and how do you do that kind of LOUD first pick he did right before he hammered the second note? Sounds like if he's dragging the pick on the string a little bit before the note sounds.

    • @Tool_jira_shugg
      @Tool_jira_shugg 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      rambache I know what you mean now, but I don't know exactly what's it's called if it even has a name, lol. I guess it's just a way to make a note sound more defined.

    • @elasdickband027
      @elasdickband027 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All it is is. Heavily picked note that he slides into, followed by an extremely light hammer on. There's no specific technique it's just a heavily accented down pick and a very gentle hammer on.

    • @Fenderz10
      @Fenderz10 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +rambache little late now but just in case.
      It's what some call a rake, you can think of it as a little sweep. He rakes/sweeps across the d string but mutes it with his left hand. He follows through with the movement to play the g string. The muted string in the middle accentuates the final note. ;)

      Tried those JP picks for a bit, I really like the shape and size of them but they feel too slippery when starting to break a sweat. However, Andy Timmons uses Jazz III picks of the same size but made out of tortex instead of ultex which is supposed to be less slippery. I also favor the PG picks Ibanez makes.
