If you only knew lol. If youve done fast food multiple times in your life youve eaten someones ( i will be nice lol) bodily fluids youve eaten insects rodent waste and so on wether it be purposely or accidental. I started at mcd's at 15 became a manager at 18 ive worked bk ,wendys, kfc, taco bell, a&w, long johns and even a krispy kreme. Im retired now for 6 months in my 30 year managerial career i fired 20% of employees for sending out contaminated food and even had 2 arrest for putting reproductive fluids in food and 6 arrested for putting feces in food. The sad part most where over 20 and female. The worst of it all all of the arrests were within the last 5 years. Theres so many young adults that have no morals and are so vendictive.
@@mauriceb3135 I guess it really just depends on staff and the employees you have working. I worked for my uncle in his Italian restuarant when I was 15 for a week or so. I'd say he'd absolutely not allow anyone to do anything to his food to ruin it, or make it unsanitary. The most unsanitary thing we did (which wasn't ok in my opinion) was picking up the salad out of the salad bowl and throwing all the ingrediants to the salad on with our bare hands. Like say you just got done doing dishes, My uncle: "Go make a salad to go.". I wash my hands REAL QUICK then go grab your salad with my dirty hands. I honestly felt bad every time I was doing it, and I had already knew before I tried working there that a restuarant/fast food isn't where I want to be. It's not like I just wiped my own ass with my hand, but I just don't think it's ok to be touching other peoples food no matter how clean your hands are.
@@mauriceb3135 Honestly though, if i ever did work in a restaurant again, I I'd 100% go back to my uncle. He was a COMPLETELY different person when it came to work though. He had time for absolutely NO bullshitting around and if you weren't doing what your suppose to, he's on your ass. Outside of work though, he's about 1 of the most understanding/kind-hearted man you'll ever meet.
When I worked at my old job... The salads. There were rotten pieces of lettuce, expired ingredients, butts of the lettuce which were never cleaned properly. I did prep on weekends and made sure everything was up to standard. No one else would.
People who don't eat salads and don't get paid enough to care won't make a decent salad and sometimes can't even be bothered to make something fit for human consumption
I will never order a salad from any restaurant, fast food or otherwise. Aside from it being a bad value, I simply do not trust that the lettuce and other vegetables have been sufficiently cleaned
Let's be honest here, if you eat out, you have to 100% accept you're inevitably going to end up eating some nasty crap and you won't even be aware of it. Someone could've dropped your burger and you wouldn't know as you sit there enjoying every bite
Exactly. I worked at McDonald's as a teenager, and I can't tell you how many times I accidentally knocked over the little tongs you use to pack hash browns. It's common practise to pretend you're going to wash it up, wipe the tongs on a dry towel, and go right back to packing the mass made potatoes with the greasy, dirty floor tongs...
I've worked a couple of food service locations (namely a movie theater and a convenience store). Avoid fountain drinks if you can. Those nozzles and hoses get absolutely disgusting, and not every place cleans them. The theater I worked was really meticulous about it, but I had to teach the manager at the convenience store how to disassemble the nozzles on their machine so it could be clean. The amount of black gunky buildup we found still haunts me.
Ahh, convenience stores, the magic place, where customers complain about the taste of the "new recipe" after the first in-depth clean-up of the nozzles in years.
Never come into the lobby five minutes before closing and sit there with your friends on your phones. If you did that to me back when I worked in fast food, you would get your food in to go bags. It’s disrespectful because there are people who can’t leave until the lobby is 100% clean.
It was really awkward when we had people come in the store at 1am. Shift lead didn't lock one door and four people thought it'd be a good idea to walk in despite all the lights in the lobby being off.
I worked at Wendy’s about thirty years ago. They were maniacal about freshness and product quality back then. We most certainly didn’t go by “they’re not old until they’re sold” back then.
I worked concessions at Cinemark before the pandemic. It wasn't my favorite place to work but I will have to say it was very, very clean. We painstakingly pulled apart all the pop machines and Starbucks stuff that were used that day and everything was washed and sanitized. The nozzles even pulled off, washed and sanitized, every night. The popcorn used that day was always thrown out. There was a cleaning crew that come in after the theater closed and clean the poppers. The hot dogs and pizza were thrown out after sitting for 2-3 hours, that's why sometimes the hot dogs aren't ready, they need to be cooked. Nacho sauce was "rotated" so it wasn't sitting long. The hot dogs warmers were cleaned and sanitized every night. The popcorn shovels were washed and sanitized every night, as well anything used for ice cream. If we dropped something it has to be immediately replaced with a clean object or washed and sanitized. I never work at a Cinemark with a bar but I'm sure that is kept to the same standards.
For ANY Pizza restaurant If you are choosing an item from the menu, dont buy it as is. Add something like "I would like that with extra cheese" or "Can you add some extra mushrooms" In these cases, attention to preparing the pizza is more than twice than that of a 'normal' pizza Bonus, it tastes better too
I have a question. I don't like cheese so I order pizzas without cheese. I sometimes get weird reactions but I like the the bread, sauce and toppings enough to really like pizza. Does this make workers angry, or a they okay with it? I worry sometimes that it makes workers mad. Because sometimes just mentioning I don't like cheese makes people irrationally angry at me.
@@starrystarrynight52 it's very strange that people would get angry at you, i have no idea why. It does not affect us negatively whatsoever but i do make jokes about how the pizzas look gross. At papa Johns in the location i worked it's actually surprisingly common, we do at least one of those a day.
If you order food from Marco's Pizza, don't get anything with salami. That stuff was used so rarely that it would often spoil, and we'd forget to switch it out. Many of my coworkers didn't even check if it went bad before putting it on the food (workplace morale was dangerously low). So unless they've changed their menu and use salami as an ingredient more often than in 2017, stay away from the salami.
The overall take away I get from this is. If you can, plan meals ahead at home. You'll probably add several years to your life, and save a ton of money. 😬
As a type 1 diabetic, and active person who likes to be healthy, it seems to come down to poorly managed diabetes is bad for your heart health, and increases the risks of strokes and circulatory problems, being inactive does the same, and having a diet which is high in unhealthy fats sugar and salt does too, which means that if one doesn't have type 1 (or type 2) diabetes, one can probably eat more junk if one is the kind of person who doesn't feel right if they aren't being active frequently enough to be able to enjoy the sense of feeling fit (which is always easier if one eatsnhealthily).
As a retired fast food manager yes much safer you would be surprised at the accidental contamination . You would want to learn to build bombs if you knew how much purposfull contamination is sent out. In my career i had several employees arrested. I actually fired an entire crew of 65 employees my entire staff because we droped below a 103 score from the health department. Every point you lose you lose 20 customers. The food quality is a joke grade a my azz lol. Oh and never ask for the crackling gravy at kfc its a secert menu item its 75% fryer oil with a lttle gravy and chopped up skins.
Former fast food worker here, McDonald's is typically safe especially if the manager is engaged with things, but if you go to (a smaller) Pizza Hut, be wary of the large pan pizzas. Let's just say that not enough space airing out pans and some workers being impatient or not caring has made me suspicious of pan pizzas even if I were the one scrubbing them. It was typically easier to air out the personal pans and breadstick pans because those two can be stacked to give enough airflow, but most of the pan pizzas we made weren't personal pan size. Also the people who say that not wearing gloves but washing more often is cleaner are on the money. Only wear gloves if you have to handle ready-to-serve food without tools, if you have something bleeding or suspicious (like a rash) on your hand, or you would otherwise be in trouble with customers or (less likely but still happens, especially if the former happens) management. Gloves are a breeding ground for food (crucially, potential allergens) to build up and sweat to build up inside. It's quicker and cleaner to wash hands for 30 seconds and get back to it than it is to spend an extra 45-70 seconds throwing away gloves and getting a new pair with a wash between those steps.
I knew they were gonna mention the McDonald's fresh fries hack! Yeah my boyfriend who used to work at McDonald's for almost 5 years says they all hated it when customers asked for no salt on their fries and then asked for salt on the side. He just says to ask for fresh fries if you want them, but be nice about it I, however, just hate salt with a passion, so I get both my burgers and fries there without salt. And I am very happy to wait the extra time.
I think the Japanese fast food one with the Volcano roll was Sarku. There was one at Ft Campbell back when I was in the Army, and the person described it pretty well: casual Japanese fast food, kinda like the Panda Express of Japanese food, but still fairly more accurate to Japanese cuisine than Panda Express is to Chinese). I liked their shrimp and chicken teriyaki (both meats, grilled in front of you while you watch behind plexiglass). The polynesian manager there knew me because my ex wife and I would go there fairly frequently. So he'd always ask something like, "Extra teriyaki as usual, bro?" to which I'd say hell yeah, and he'd squirt extra teriyaki on the meat while it was cooking and mix it with the rice. They're not the same quality you'd get from an actual sit down Chinese restaurant, but they're damn good if you're in a rush and just want a quick bite.
For the egg whites at IHOP, when the waitress came back and said they were "looking" for egg whites, she should have immediately said, "No, please use fresh eggs, seperate the egg whites from the yolks and use those."
As someone who worked for a busy airport joint known for our breakfast(something like 300-500 customers between 5 and 1030 am. Egg whites were one of the quickest ways to piss off my cooks. It wastes so much product and slows down their flow to seperate so many extra eggs when they had 15 tickets on the line. Honestly. I know it’s technically healthier. But if you are in a busy breakfast joint that isn’t really high end. I wouldn’t bother. Just eat the whole egg or order something else.
9:40 drive thrus are almost always quicker than going in since they're timed they just ignore the people inside. I've waited well over 10 minutes for basic orders inside when I've seen countless cars go bye.
Bojangle’s food, every one that I worked in had out of date appliances, roaches even in the safe, electricity issues, sewage issues, one manager didn’t like ordering cleaning supplies because it made the restaurant less profitable. So having your employees play slip and slide on a floor with chicken grease, and water was preferable. But hey that particular manager was also abusive to her employees, hitting them, cursing them out etc.
I used to be a waitress at a open 24 hours waffle house style diner. Not actually waffle house, just similar. Avoid places like that in general. The dishes get dipped in warm soapy water (no actual scrubbing went on that I ever saw), get a rinse and then tossed in a "sanitizer" that only made the dishes really warm so it felt like they had just come out of a dish washer. Also the dish water at the diner I was at was really only replaced 3 times a day. Once after breakfast hours, once after lunch hours, and then once after dinner hours. Although a lot of the time the water would really only be topped off with a fresh squeeze of dish soap and a little hot water instead. I will never eat at a place like that ever again and if that's how it's done at all those places, I'm legit shocked I avoided all manner of deadly infections.
When I was at Taco Bell I'd usually default to dish washing because I enjoyed it also no one else did it properly. They would drop the pans in the water, which would be brownish towards the mid/end of the day, wait a minute then throw them in the sanitizer and put them up with food still caked on the side. I was one of the few who'd actually wash them properly. Rinse excess food out, put it in the sink for five minutes (doesn't require 5 but just being safe), rinse the remainder in the middle sink, sanitize for five minutes, then hang up. You can tell when I did the dish. Coworkers complained because I'm 'slow'. Nah, I just did it right.
I worked at Freddy Fazbear’s Mega Pizzaplex. I know it’s not “fast food”, but it serves a lot of “eat by hand” food. Avoid the Monty’s Mystery Mix, and not just because Chica goes coo-coo for it and attacks guests to get it. The secret is the pizza flavoring, but it tastes horrible, it’s like eating a pizza with the leftover slices mushed together.
As a customer I figured out if you and someone else want two regular (6in) subs from Jersey Mikes (or other sub restaurants) that are the same type of sub, you order 1 giant (foot long) and ask for them to have half the sandwich be the way you like and the other half to be the other person likes and if it is to go you can ask for them to pack it separately (I have never had someone say no but there is a chance). The cost in the end will be cheaper then buying two sandwiches which will be the same size anyway. This could also be done with with 2 minis (kids) as a regular or any combination.
When i worked at wendys like 20 years ago, the beef for the chilli was the pattys that would be on the grill too long to serve in a burger, put in a drawer till the end of the day.. then at the end of the day they had us rinse them with water, out them in a bag in the fridge overnight and the next morning, rinsed again before being chopped up and put into the chili pot
As a dairy queen worker, the food is generally ok but don't buy the burgers, listen the patty is just. Eh, it's not great. Don't buy anything with the peanut butter, at least in our location, it's really gross. Maybe it tastes good but at least by look, it looks awful and flows weirdly. Also don't trust the gluten free. If it's busy that blender is not being cleaned properly. So do not eat there if you have celiac or Hashimotos. And if your ice cream is a little melty, it's because we are at least 4 cars behind and the chill workers are faster then the grill workers. So while us in chill are 4 cars behind the people in grill are 7 and often things need to be remade. It's a mess. Advice for oderering, sat what differnet or specific changes you want as you order that food. If the cashier is good, that food item will already be onscreen. So try to think of the changes and say them as you order because if you're really slow, that ice cream is halfway or completely done already if you’re ordering a lot of food. Also you can request basket items al carte. (Cheese curds come in regular and large. Large is much too expensive, just get regular and some soft prezels for that price) At least at my location which only has teenagers. The only adults are our manager and the supervisors. It's a mess but we try. So if you're upset about it being kinda melty, please put it in the fridge for a bit, don't yell at the workers
True, the shrimp is good tho, and the toast, but I'm bias because my mom has celiac so my standards of taste for bread are pretty low. -dairy queen worker who just put in her two weeks
DQ is honestly a pretty good restaurant when it comes to food you get pretty good portions for the price but the 3 things I would say to stay away from is 1. The side salad it’s literally lettuce and tomatoes in a small plastic container(same one used in the banana split) 2. Grilled chicken sandwiches, while they are good the texture when they were raw was really weird 3. Rotisserie chicken bite basket, In a regular rotisserie basket you get 6 tiny pieces of chicken and pay the same amount as a regular 4 piece with 4 decent size strips. DQ actually does have pretty good quality and portions at least at the one I work at.
I worked at a Subway, that Subway post is ancient. The Veggie delight is still not worth it, but it is now cheaper since every other sandwich price has been hiked up. The kids sandwiches now get 3 slices of meat.
As a dominos worker, I HIGHLY suggest not ordering single small pizzas. Firstly, small pizzas are much more infrequent, meaning that the dough we have becomes very mushy and stale, giving you a worse product that is much harder to shape properly. On top of this, a single small pizza will cost WAAY more than it should, maybe even like 13 dollars just for the single one, you're better off ordering a large or two mediums
"Cross-contamination is not our problem." As someone who has worked in fast food before being diagnosed with food allergies, that line really depresses me. Us with food allergies really are not asking for a whole lot. It takes 10 to 20 seconds to wipe up your work area and switch out your gloves before making my meal. I get that nobody is perfect, mistakes can be made (I avoid lettuce due to my onion allergies because I understand that onions can fall into the lettuce bin), and that workers are up against a clock, but I find the overall attitude from that person who claims it's not their problem to be pretty dogshit.
I stopped eating pork years ago it's a semi religious thing for me as a Christian it's not against my faith however I gave it up for my faith ... Anyway cross contamination is why don't eat out and I've known people who were Jewish or Muslim who couldn't wrap their minds around the idea that the people in the restaurant don't care about other peoples eating habits ... My last straw was a pizza ... when you give up pork for prolonged time periods you're body stops being able to digest it and it'll make you very sick I've always loved when people asked me would I eat it if I was starving ... The answer is no because there is no point I'll throw it up ... I ate one slice of a cheese pizza and threw up for hours that's when I realized they took the pepperonis off a pepperoni pizza and called it cheese pizza after that I decided to just cook my own food
If you’ve got allergies I recommend letting the people serving you know before ordering. Cross contamination in some places is unavoidable and if you let your server know then they can take precautions to make sure the food hasn’t been touched by any other ingredients
@@LT-qx9wt yeah, in a perfect world, that works. Unfortunately, there is no shortage of people out there that are either ignorant to food allergies or downright refuse to care and treat you like you're the biggest inconvenience. It's pretty frustrating because I am always extremely polite and try to explain my needs but I can't tell you how many times it has gone in one ear and out the other with servers. I just avoid eating out anymore but it really puts a damper on my social interactions with my friends because eating at a restaurant together is a human bonding activity that I cannot participate in.
Worked at Burger king for a few months. Please don't come up with the Idea of ordering extra jalapenos for your long chilli cheese. Taxidrivers always did that and my manager in training told me that he got fed up with them ordering it that way (they always wanted more and more of the jalapenos every time) and put so much in it that it could kill an elephant. After that they avoided to ask for the extra
Working at Starbucks I get kind of annoyed when people order Frappuccinos or refreshers, due to how much it breaks my pace, but I can handle that. I'll live. Most of the annoyance is when it's ordered during a rush. But if you're going to pull up your TikTok app and show me a drink being played without explaining or discussing it yourself, just know I hate you lol So... If you've ordered a cotton candy frappe, a luffy drink, or a iced matcha with oat milk/iced chai with almond milk with brown sugar; I'm silently judging you. The last two aren't really "TikTok" drinks, but a lot of the people who order it come in all smug, thinking that they're doing something unique and different. That smugness bothers me. Most of the people who order things I would be surprised didn't choose to go to a boba shop, if it was closer to them lol I like the job, though, so I'll live regardless what you order. I like the complicated drinks, too, so... yeee
One time I asked for a Carmel Crunch Frapp & wanted a white mocha sub, I was terrified to ask- but it turns out the Starbucks ran out of the syrup for the Frapp & asked if I wanted white mocha instead! So it worked out for me haha, but I don't think I'll ever be able to ask for a substitute in a drink-
I used to work the popcorn machines at my old job. Im actually glad i took the time to painstakingly clean the machine, scrub it clean, steam clean (no chemicals), use gloves to handle the popcorn bare, and would always replace the gloves every 1p mins and wash or everytime i had to get something else. They always chewed me out for going "overtime" but i always insisted that "whats worse? Paying 15 mins of ""overtime"" cleaning OR paying half a mill in lawsuits (each)".
I recently ordered a black bean burger from buffalo wild wings and it was terrible. Now I know why. I'm sure I could have made it much better from my freezer.
Adding onto this as a Jimmy Johns employee, here's a short list of things I recommend: -Every location is owned by a different franchise and has a different set of rules for what's allowed and not. So please make sure you ask, and no, we do not toast our subs and hopefully never will. -If you're ordering two or more of the same sandwich on our french bread (ex., two of the number 6 veggie), ask for a Giant as it gives you two whole sandwiches from one 16in a loaf for only a couple dollars less. Also, on the subject of that, while our little johns (which are 6in loaves) only come in the originals (1-6 and BLT), we'd be more than happy to give you a Favorite (7-17 and Gargantuan) if you know the ingredients and are willing to pay any additional costs that come with it as our meat, cheese, and avocado spread are extra. -If you're trying to be healthier but still want some chips, you can still get any of the flavored chips. If you're not wanting to snatch a Thinny Chip bag for whatever reason, the extra flavor doesn't add anything to it. So feel free to get some BBQ for your lettuce wrap sub. -Water cups are always free, and most of the time, you can get a 30oz/Large; however, if you want to have a combo, you need to order bottled water because our system is dumb. If you ask for it, we'll even hook you up with said 30oz filled with ice.
Some of this conveys to me that the no-character Cs responsible need to be replaced by machines immediately. The establishment of recent decades, narcissism, etc. has given them a tremendously inflated sense of self worth beyond what is actually merited by their abilities, not to mention their value as people given their lack of inclination toward doing what is right and just.
17:10 I had the fettuccine Alfredo a couple days ago... wish I saw this video sooner. RIP the Home Depot restroom. It’s ironic I ate the leftovers which I heated up and a pan and I was fine. Must not get cooked(or more accurately, warmed up) long or hot enough
Chic-fil-a salad is most definitely cap. The salads are prepped same day and kept in a salad fridge. Only change to the time is how long the nuggets have been sitting. Late at night they sit longer
6:11 LOL I went to Wendy's and there we were ordering for 6 people and so through the drive thru we came to our order of 12 junior bacon cheeseburgers when we pulled up to the window we hear "WE'RE SO SORRY ABOUT THE WAIT THERE'S ONLY 3 COOKS AND ME HERE WHAT CAN I GET YOU?" and I shit you not I'm sitting in the backseat just dying "uh.. could I get, tw- twelve junior bacon cheeseburgers?" there was not a single piece of bacon on any of those burgers
Former Subway worker here. The owner of the one I worked at told the manger to replace the stickers instead of the meats and veggies. The owner refused to properly fix the freezer and the AC unit. He owns every subway except 2 in my area. He also tells his employees they are NOT allowed to discuss their wages with their coworkers, which I believe is illegal on a federal level (feel free to correct me because I could be wrong on that). The bar where the sandwiches were made was failing and it took him almost a month to get someone in there to look at, not fix it just look to see if they could find the problem but I left before the person came and it wasn't a year after I left that they closed due to the freezer and lack of customers. I just hope I wasn't the reason for their slow business when I told the town gossip about the stickers 😏
Story 20 reminded me of stuff i c at walmart all the time, people who bring multiple full carts of stuff to self check out, it literally takes forever and the only reason you do that is to “accidentally “ forget to scan things
Got a few from a touring a hospital kitchen during an interview to be a cook. If you want potatos order a baked one, every other kind is just dust out of a box. Also if you want anything with meat tell them to cook it well done, because the management pushes the cooks to get things finished fast instead of doing it right, seen more than a handful of dishes leave that looked concerningly raw so they could start making the next order. And finally be wary if you have any food allergies, they're more concerned about the dishes and utensils being disinfected instead of cleaned, after all if you get sick that's just more money they can make off of you.
yea chick-fil-a can be easy to get cross contaminated. however, if you explain it’s an allergy, they switch gloves, and there is a designated employee who only handles grilled items, none of the fried and breaded. They have a designated fryer for french fries, which are also GF. -a celiac patient
If you use ‘to go’ at Texas Roadhouse everything is frozen except the potatoes. It’s also a gamble on what side eat in is not premade. Rice is made to be frozen. Steamed veggies are not steamed, they are microwaved. Only fresh thing is the steak. Steak is delivered almost daily
You should never order a Double Triple Bossy Deluxe on a raft, 4x4 animal style, extra shingles with a shimmy and a squeeze, light axle grease; make it cry, burn it, and let it swim.
Surprised this wasn't mentioned. I still love the stuff and the chili preparation process reboils the meat so it's honestly fine. But, at Rally's/Checker's? The grill cook has a tin in their meat freezer for "chili meat." This will be anything that gets burned or sits in the sandwich well for an hour or, most likely, got dropped on the floor. It gets frozen overnight, and then the next morning at opening it gets diced up and added to the chili mix. Yep. That chili dog is part burger that fell under the grill yesterday, got frozen, and then was boiled back to temp.
This is easily answered. If it's a franchise be careful and ask the employees. There's some franchise owners who are cheap and disgusting. Otherwise just be kind and patient with the employees. If you're nice to them they'll be nice to you. If you're a Karen you have no idea what they'll do to your food. Remember these people make your damn food and they do not get paid enough to put up with your bs
Starbucks barista here, dont order the new 'Frozen' refreshers. The icy part separates immediately and unless you drink it right away, you pay extra for a standard refresher.
Former McDonald’s employee, walk in was big enough to fit a short bus so months worth of food, try to go when new stuff comes in, and the all day breakfast is usually left over from that morning, this was a franchise tho so can’t speak for corporate mcds, oh and if it ain’t cooked in a grill it’s done in a oven or microwave
You all know about the tuna from subway but DO NOT order steak from there. Was told to just “pick out the hard white bits” those hard bits could be bone, cartilage or even plastic. Stick with something that doesn’t HAVE to be toasted (certain meats) and it’s okay to be picky about your veggies there have them throw out the old slimy ones if they aren’t already don’t let them put that on your food.
I work at a Monical's(midwestern pizza chain) and most of our stuff is fine. Only thing i would avoid wholeheartedly is the giardinera, we order huge jars of it and no one ever orders it so one jar will sit in the fridge gor god knows how many months, plus its just not very good in general, get pepperocini instead Also dont order 10+toppings on a pan or gluten free pizza, it will take forever andprobably not even cook right Also we are judging you for EVERYTHING you order
I worked at McDonald's for a year. I wouldn't really say anything was bad to order. Worst case scenario, you get some not-so-fresh decaf coffee, but you can always request a fresh pot of coffee. Everything was always fresh, and the place was very sanitary. A crew came in regularly to deep-clean the place. The smell was disgusting when that happened, but all that nastiness was staying out of the restaurant.
OH, it makes sense now! I once lived in a college town, and teh only two places open 24/7 was Mcdonalds and Perkins, but everytime we (my ex and I) tried to shop at McDonalds, they said "cash only." And I just couldn't figure it out why. Who takes cash only? It never occured to me that they had system maintenance. We just went to Perkins every night instead.
Never order anchovies at a pizza place. It’s so rarely ordered odds are that one little tin can has been sitting for ages, or the staff will believe it’s a prank. On top of that, the staff will hate you for ordering it. Anchovy pizza orders are treated like the plague… quite literally.
Ah? We did the math, with a McDonalds employee. The McDouble with BigMac stuff is worth it. Maybe it's only in Canada tho But I think the ratio is much better as for the same amount of food (two McDoubles) it's less bread, more meat.
I’ve never worked at a restaurant but don’t order a salad from any fast food joint, they drown the veggies in flavour and uses sauces making it have the same calories as a burger.
Don’t order food at a place that is mainly focused on drinks. The workers are not given proper training, the food is most likely high in preservatives and on top of that, the staff will fucking hate you. Food in these places is a money grab, but they won’t get additional staff to deal with the extra time it takes, so any food order is stressful
my friend has since passed away so can't verify it, but he used to talk about tim hortons, don't buy the soup I think it was, as everything else is mostly fresh, but the soup was frozen and just heated up.
the sonic in durango co was the dirtiest place i’ve ever worked , fair warning everyone. it was years ago but if management is the same, it definitely hasn’t changed
Less salt fries. It's basically saying "I'm special, cater to me with fresh fries." If I just pulled fries up, the best fries are right in front of you, fresh.
Any large order, Placed during rush hour. 70 burgers, 80 slider , 120 large chips. After you get into triple didgets, no more mayo in those thangs, we just spittin in it. You made us, a fast food place, Work a catering order, during lunch rush. There was an air of shell shock at the 3 pm lunch break.
I mean, we had some dickmunch ask "am I required to make all this food?" when a friend ordered three rather large meals. Sure, bud. If you wanna get paid, you make that.
Whataburger food is always fresh but you will wait half an hour for a medium fry so you just gotta decide whether you want to keep that 30 minutes you'll never get back or if you want fresh food. Not both.
To be fair I think pot pies were designed to use day old chicken. Stemming from one of the ways not to waste not to waste older food or making it last longer
Unfortunately the “don’t order 2 12 pack toco boxes in drive through” doesn’t work as much after Covid lockdown. Sure places are more open now and you can go inside, but many places (toco bell included) STILL have limited seating due to health risks. Or people still are fearful and will only use drive through. If your wondering, this in NY.
Also, even if you really need those fresh fries from McDonalds, just say I want them "out of the vat", rather than I want fries "with no salt". We don't mind just making fresh fries for you, but saying "no salt" will make things more complicated and might even make it take longer. Since we'd have to make sure to take the fries out, without mixing them with other fries (which is not easy so takes more time), or have to clean one of the sides entirely before dumping them out once done. So, don't say "no salt" unless you actually need them without it, because if it's really just for the fresh fries than you might wait even a little longer than typical fresh fries (unless they happen to already be cooking a batch).
Domino's tip: if you're thinking of getting the parm twists, save a dollar and get the 16 pc parm bites with the sauce on the side instead - they're made with the same amount of dough and are faster to make
As a delivery rider, I reject Burger King orders. It takes 20 minutes to get someone's attention and make sure their attention stays on packing the delivery as they all seem to have ADHD and wander off. Considering the food isn't made to order at BK - it shouldn't take that long to pack an food from the heater.
I worked at Wendy’s for a little over a year. Never order a chili, the chili meat is the old meat that wasn’t ordered for the day. The meat is never frozen though, the chicken is though.
A friend of mine used to work at Sonic. I'm not sure if it's because she was new and their for a short time or what, but she hated making milkshakes cuz they were harder than, say, a burger.
I always ask for a tortilla in a bowl at chipotle.. I think the extra edge of the tortilla with the depth of the bowl holds more food! Honestly, sometimes they make it and cant close the lid..
Small hot dog joint. Particularly don’t like it when a door dash order makes it overly complicated or extra everything. If you wouldn’t order it in person as in tell another human this order, don’t hide behind a phone screen. Like Door Dash will be annoying already with I swear the tablet knows when we are busy for worst times to go off and the alarm sounds like a Karen to us
McDonalds drive thru people often go in between cash and making salads (if they even still make salads)? Grilled chicken is prices so better to reup the timer.
Used to work at Quiznos twice in college. I literally just came here to say DON'T EVER ORDER THE DAMN TUNA! If they even still have it. I don't remember ever changing it out.
I'm actually shocked that the person who worked at McDonald's said to not order anything with a beef patty.. There's been scientific studies that have found out that they don't grow mold! Even a year of storing them at room temperature and no mold! Yeah, I REALLY want to eat THAT crap! Just like if I wanted to remove rust from my stomach, intestinal tract, etc, I'd drink one specific sugary beverage. Just scary tbh. If it can remove years of thick rust in less than ten minutes, what is that doing to your body..?
Don't order something special and complain the whole time that you're going to be late to work because of the wait. It won't help you cut in line. Especially if you've been there less than 5 minutes. If the food was ready to give you'd already have it. It's not like we're just hanging onto it for a few more minutes after it's done. And If you really are late it's your fault for cutting it that close. Get out of bed 10 minutes earlier next time. Don't lie about how long you've been waiting. Staff are usually very well aware you just walked in the store 3 minutes ago when you tell them you've been waiting there for 20 minutes. Depending on the mood of the staff you might be forced to wait. Probably not the full 20 minutes, but no one is eager to help whiny fibbers. Don't lie for free food. Pretending we forgot to give you something that we know we gave you will probably result in a splash of secret sauce in your tummy. Don't be rude to the people that make your food. You are not really the one in power here. The worst you can do is frustrate them. The worst they could do is much more - and you'd never even realize it happened.
There is no better encouragement to just go home and cook for yourself or do a packed lunch than hearing these stories.
@@mauriceb3135Thats so scary! I'm glad you did the right thing

Well I *definitely* don't want no butts in my salad...
People who don't eat salads and don't get paid enough to care won't make a decent salad and sometimes can't even be bothered to make something fit for human consumption
Bro what's next some dude who worked at McDonald's talking bout how they medium cooked there chicken and gave salmonella to ppl-
..

Convience stores have gotten pretty good about this the last few years. Slurpees always taste like booze now.
That arena serving "reruns" needs to be reported to the county health authority.
I worked at Wendy's about a decade ago. Only the Chili was less than fresh.
Wendy's is probably the best fast food place
Yeah that one was bs. But the chili at Wendy's....I worked there btw
@@DRCB8139 It's The chili is just the 3+ day old hamburger patties that never got sold, ground up and left to slow cook.
For ANY Pizza restaurant
If you are choosing an item from the menu, dont buy it as is. Add something like "I would like that with extra cheese" or "Can you add some extra mushrooms"
In these cases, attention to preparing the pizza is more than twice than that of a 'normal' pizza
Bonus, it tastes better too
But also don't overdo it with extras, chances, you'll have less of each while paying full, rise with every ingredient.
I've worked pizza for several years and I do not see any meaningful difference between the effort to a speciality pizza vs standard pepperoni
@@00RoxPink Thank you for replying, that's good to know :)
He just says to ask for fresh fries if you want them, but be nice about it
I, however, just hate salt with a passion, so I get both my burgers and fries there without salt.

“They’re not old until they’re sold”…..this is applied everywhere you have to spend money lol. Goodness gracious 😔😔
You realize that “sanitizer” has sprayers that spray chemicals and sprayers that clean the plates lmao
When i worked at wendys like 20 years ago, the beef for the chilli was the pattys that would be on the grill too long to serve in a burger, put in a drawer till the end of the day.. then at the end of the day they had us rinse them with water, out them in a bag in the fridge overnight and the next morning, rinsed again before being chopped up and put into the chili pot
delicoous and zero waste
Large is much too expensive, just get regular and some soft prezels for that price)
At least at my location which only has teenagers. The only adults are our manager and the supervisors. It's a mess but we try. So if you're upset about it being kinda melty, please put it in the fridge for a bit, don't yell at the workers
Moral of the story is dont wait for any restaurant to DETHAW your food, wtf!?
You are the genius, you sit and read subreddits while playing random game play and subtitles. That's awesome!
Be cautious of menu items you don't normally associate with the establishment. The non-dessert menu from Dairy Queen is a perfect example.
When the Redditor said don’t order the Burger King salad my mind thought “Burger King foot lettuce”
"Cross-contamination is not our problem."
As someone who has worked in fast food before being diagnosed with food allergies, that line really depresses me.
I get kind of annoyed when people order Frappuccinos or refreshers, due to how much it breaks my pace, but I can handle that. I'll live. Most of the annoyance is when it's ordered during a rush.
But if you're going to pull up your TikTok app and show me a drink being played without explaining or discussing it yourself, just know I hate you lol
So...
Most of the people who order things I would be surprised didn't choose to go to a boba shop, if it was closer to them lol

Adding onto this as a Jimmy Johns employee, here's a short list of things I recommend:
-Every location is owned by a different franchise and has a different set of rules for what's allowed and not.

I love how BATIM is in the background.
I worked Wendy’s when I was a kid and based on that I’ll still eat there, at least the one I worked at did a good job
Same goes for the people who have to do your oil change
Can confirm the Buffalo Wild Wings one as true. The burgers used to be fresh but they changed them to frozen patties.
I work at penn station. Lemonade. We have to make it before we take payment. Depending on how busy we get determines the quality of it.
5:50 what the hell kind of fish are you serving that has lungs? Mud skippers?
You all know about the tuna from subway but DO NOT order steak from there. Was told to just “pick out the hard white bits” those hard bits could be bone, cartilage or even plastic. Stick with something that doesn’t HAVE to be toasted (certain meats) and it’s okay to be picky about your veggies there have them throw out the old slimy ones if they aren’t already don’t let them put that on your food.
I work at a Monical's(midwestern pizza chain) and most of our stuff is fine. Only thing i would avoid wholeheartedly is the giardinera, we order huge jars of it and no one ever orders it so one jar will sit in the fridge gor god knows how many months, plus its just not very good in general, get pepperocini instead
Also dont order 10+toppings on a pan or gluten free pizza, it will take forever andprobably not even cook right
Also we are judging you for EVERYTHING you order
That's why I cooked my own food at home 🏡😅.
Never order anchovies at a pizza place. It’s so rarely ordered odds are that one little tin can has been sitting for ages, or the staff will believe it’s a prank. On top of that, the staff will hate you for ordering it. Anchovy pizza orders are treated like the plague… quite literally.
10:12 “if you order only drinks your order will come faster” uhhh no shit? 😂😂
Ah? We did the math, with a McDonalds employee. The McDouble with BigMac stuff is worth it.
Maybe it's only in Canada tho
But I think the ratio is much better as for the same amount of food (two McDoubles) it's less bread, more meat.
[7:25] omg THANK YOU for saying this nd everything else after det 😭 !.
So literally in America never buy anything from a fast food restaurant.
the sonic in durango co was the dirtiest place i’ve ever worked , fair warning everyone. it was years ago but if management is the same, it definitely hasn’t changed
Okay for the walk in one, this is completely wrong for starbucks. Starbucks prioritizes drive through and online orders before cash register service
Less salt fries. It's basically saying "I'm special, cater to me with fresh fries." If I just pulled fries up, the best fries are right in front of you, fresh.
Any large order,
Placed during rush hour.
70 burgers, 80 slider , 120 large chips.
After you get into triple didgets, no more mayo in those thangs, we just spittin in it.
You made us, a fast food place,
Work a catering order, during lunch rush.
There was an air of shell shock at the 3 pm lunch break.
If have a large order at drive up or order with long delay tell them to park, that is how some do it, don't have them block traffic waiting.
If they don’t like their jobs they need to find another job because you can’t act like that when a customer orders something
I had no idea DQ had salads.
That's still ludicrous to order the sheer amount in drive thru
Wingstops ranch and side dips are usually old if its not football season. Same with every sauce year round
Not me watching this while at a Burger King drive through lol
@frisk a texas whopper with a hi c orange to drink
@@CarlosGarcia-jl9dq im getting a whopper but im not at burger king so that's kind of a problem
Domino's tip: if you're thinking of getting the parm twists, save a dollar and get the 16 pc parm bites with the sauce on the side instead - they're made with the same amount of dough and are faster to make
At Pizza Hut, don't order biscuits and gravy. Pizza Hut doesn't have biscuits and gravy.
Subway is hit or miss. Pay attention to cleanliness.
Honestly, sometimes they make it and cant close the lid..
i like how he's playing bendy while talking about this
I work at a restaurant I'll just say this your better off cooking at home everything's frozen and or old it is all horrible for you
Small hot dog joint.
