You have to be the only person that said something about the cry about a man line. She just doesn't want to cry about a dude. She didn't say she don't need a man. Or men ain't sh!t. You took that way farther than it needed to be. These girls grew up on 90s and 2k hip hop and R&B so this is authentic to who they are. XG isn't just hip hop though. They have rappers and vocalists in the group but they're sound is more 2k girl group. I don't know if you do stuff other than hip hop. If so you need to check their singles out. They are an amazing group to be so young. Old school sounds with a fresh feel. Singles "Tippy Toes" "Mascara" "Shooting Star" "Left Right" I think you'll be surprised. ✌🏾
Even though you tried to cover up yourself by saying you’re not about women only on the kitchen, you kinda sounded like that. Asian women have all the rights to be pissed and angry on man after centuries of abuse. How would you feel if from the young age you re programmed to please a man (father, brothers and then husband). You’re saying it went too far in US. But it always like that, new shifts in the society never go smooth. It’s always “too much” until it’s stabilized.
This is just one facet of many these ladies possess. They're not bound to the "one unique sound" that almost every kpop or jpop has. Seven ladies who can SING and four of them can RAP(I suspect all can RAP). Amazing how many "sounds I hear coming from XG.
It seems to me that when men say they want a traditional woman, what they really mean is submissive. That's cool. There's as many different relationship dynamics as there are people to have relationships. Variety is the spice of life. I'm just tired of hearing people hide behind tradition instead of telling the truth.
Sorry this is gonna be a bit wordy. First off, it’s a fact that men in the west are leaving the west in search for spouses but it’s not to find “submissive” women but to find a partner that doesn’t dog on them every chance they get. That’s why he said men and women shouldn’t tear each other down in their music because music is influential and music in the west made women hate their men. Also my next point is, I’m with a Korean, they listen to a lot of western music but it doesn’t effect their daily lives like it is in the west. I literally see my girl blasting “I don’t cook! I don’t clean!” As she’s cooking dinner. It’s just fun for them and they still appreciate their men but the women in the west just took it to the extreme. He also said “maybe she’s not traditional, and it’s alright” which is as it’s said. It’s ok if she isn’t, he was just pointing out a reality and just hopes the East doesn’t get influenced too much by music to the point it destroys their cultural dynamics.
