I don’t understand why it’s a big deal for some whether they write it or not like your faves don’t have ghost writers?? Let’s be for real 😂 Plus these girls are really creative so I’m genuinely curious what they had outputs on OR if they were to actually produce or make their own music
None of my favorite rappers have ghostwriters. You don’t understand it, then I’ll educate you. Being a lyricist is about writing your own raps. If you rap something someone else wrote, you’re not meaning those words because they aren’t yours. If you use ghostwriters, you aren’t a lyricist. I can’t take someone’s words serious if they didn’t write it.
@@AnthonyRay Point taken and I get what you’re coming from. But I’m actually referring to kpop stans and trolls trying to find fault with XG and compare them to their other gg / kpop artists as if their faves are writing their own verses. Like I said, it would be great if they can be actively involved in the writing and production process as they seem really creative (based off their documentaries and interviews). Now that would def set the bar higher :)
Sis, I understand what you mean, and I understand AR's idea. You have two different perspectives. As a group, their writing skills training time is definitely inferior to that of professional rappers. The KPOP cultural industry will indeed use this to attack them on the Internet when facing the impact.
"itsyadayday".dayday is the main lyricist of tgif and girl gang......and is also the general director of lyrics for rap line works. He will claim the works on IG when they are released.

Maya has the most experience when it comes to writing English lyrics. But the girls train under Simon their producer and DayDay their rap mentor learning writing and technique in rapping. They all have a hand in writing lyrics but DayDay is their main source when it comes to writing.
In the previous fan meeting, Cocona briefly revealed the behind-the-scenes of their lyrics writing in Show U Can. She said that she was responsible for the Japanese part, and Maya was responsible for the English part, but the specific proportion is unknown.
Simon seems to have stated that the girls are contributing to the verses, while Dayday, who works with Simon seems to be the main author of the verses.
Simon has already responded to this question in his IG live broadcast a few days ago. He called Dayday a member of the XG family. He is the chief lyricist of the rap line works.
Yup these verses all seem to have their(xg) mark on it, it seems to be the product of taking a lot of input from the group and then writing verses that each showcase their personalities. I hope eventually they can learn enough from their lyricist to where they can write their verses all on their own or with their band members
The girls contribute ideas/phrases for the tapes but the actual lyrics (especially the English lyrics) are written by their team. I don’t think they have the skills in English (yet) to pull off all of these rhymes but some of the Japanese lyrics from previous tapes were provided by them but I don’t think they are officially credited.
@@Levascue she might speak English fluently but thinking and rhyming in English is difficult for native speakers, let alone all the references & details from a different culture.
@@cindih78 I get you, for me it's difficult even speak in english without preparation - I always sound like some version of Rasputin, when I have to talk with english-speaking natives. :D And composing verses and rhytmes is another level....
@@cindih78 living in a different language for several years, it is definitely possible to write. I did and I do. The references really depend on how much you are involved in the culture. I am a native English speaker, living in Japan 15 years and I am more likely to miss recent English references than Japanese ones. I am capable of making hella puns in Japanese, but not in French, which I have spoken for 30 years, because I don't really listen to French music or watch that much TV. So, it is completely possible, even if unlikely.
There's a difference being an emcee who's strictly hip hop and a rapper from company. These ladies can sing and rap and dance. They give life to the music they're given. Now it would be cool if they are developing the choreo ( I hear Jurin does that) and writing/producing. Hopefully Simon will give them those opportunities. But we can't compare what they do to someone who ONLY raps. We can say that compared to a lot of "rappers" who only rap, they are way better as they can sing, rap and dance LIVE. They played them some songs and they broke down the beat and knew the count from the minor key and other jargon so they are very knowledgable in music but having to write in English as a 3rd language is not easy. Maya also would struggle as she is not from US so they need the American team to work with to get the lyrics and current pop culture knowledge. Shayshay & Drake ref which is current right now. Proof is they have credit for Show You Can. Since this is not an official song that has masters and is owned by another company.
