Props to Ye for not letting his ego get in the way of openly giving credit where it’s due.
“You could not live with your own failure. Where did that bring you? Back to me” -Timbalanos 😂😂😂
Kanye: hey Timbaland, can you fix this?
Timbaland: here you go. Also, let me tell you why I'm the best
Timbaland just had hit record after hit record in the 2000's
Kanye: “aye maybe you could add a little more snare in-“
Timbo: “YOU CANNOT GIVE ME any ADVICE”
My dad is diagnosed bipolar. When I talk to him He’s either manic (can’t keep a conversation, hyper, grandiose thoughts etc) or he’s depressed (talking how he hates his life etc). Every once in a while he’ll call me and he’s just normal. Not manic or depressed. And I just talk to him for as long as possible because it’s rare. I feel the same way about Kanye. This moment reminds me of those normal moments with my dad. Rare but precious.
Bipolar disorder is no joke, my sister deals with it. I know exactly what you mean when you speak about that depression phase vs manic phase. Stay strong and prayers to your pops and the family as well.
Hope everything is ok I got the same thing going on. I'm fine right now but the manic and the depression can last for months.
I've always felt the same about Kanye. You think of his best moments and best music and it makes up for so many sins.
Timberland is a music scientist compared to those other producers. He is a true expert.
Timbaland operated in a time where those futuristic beats were popping and he was a genius at it
Shit he can still make a fire ass beat if he wanted for a artist
@@marcuscritzer2649Joyner Lucas - 10 Bands just a few years back
No, Timbaland made those beats popular, he innovated a style for hip hop and R&B. Some of the swedish producers were doing a poppy version for boy bands and white girls but it wasn't the same
Timbaland literally invented double time electronic edm type of hip hop influenced r&b beats with pony and one in a million. Today's trap artists rap primarily over a style he influenced
@@TheMatrixofMeaning He didn't invent it he perfected it. Devante swing was doing before him who he got it from and Tim did it way better
I like how he brings everyone in to help him especially the person he's mentally competing with.
Yes that means humility and just striving for the best. Not thinking you're the best
If you think about it, even before he blew up he was making beats for people he would be competing with later on. So he always had a hand in other peoples success even if they are supposedly beefing, that’s a testament to his character for real
Timbo is one of the most UNDERRATED engineers alive.
Tbh Timbaland always came up with the dopeeeest beats
Timbaland is the fucking man! All those songs sound good and groovy AF.
Maybe an unpopular opinion. But my favorite Timbaland beat is for Aaliyah - Try Again ... Was revolutionary for the time, but if it was a new song released today it would still slap 🔥
That Nelly Furtado beat "Say it right" was legendary 💯🔥.
Yes indeed. I've jacked those open kicks and snares on quite a few occasions.
... Went back and watched the video for that a few months ago, it's just timeless that song , from top to bottom 👌
You can really see the passion in his face and hear it in his voice when he talks about music and can relax and be himself dude is a fukn genius and legend💪🏾🙏🏾👏🏿✊🏿
Yeah that sexyback beat is nuts
I love that Kanye admits to wanting to compete, he wants to be the best and there’s nothing wrong with competition it makes you better
But art is not about competition, it's for the joy of creation. It's not a sport
That's what's wrong with modern music.
@@FirstnameLastname-yc2mt in rap it’s about competition, Kanye wants to be the best artist that has ever lived. It’s friendly competition
@@jamesthompson5287 battle rap is competition.
You can't make a claim about being the greatest artist. That's just American capitalism, the music industry, business.
Have you heard every song ever released? No. So you can't reasonably say if you like one song better than another. Also, what if someone doesn't like rap and thus doesn't consider kanye great?
To compare, it would be as if your favorite ice cream is cookies and cream and someone else says the best ice cream is butter pecan because that's *their* favorite.
Art is subjective. There is no such thing as "the greatest" in a subjective sense.
we need an audio book or series of ye just telling untold bts stories about his production processes, circumstances, collabs etc etc about certain songs and albums..its all types of legendary names connected to the shit, he probably has millions stories...and i'd to every last one
Stronger, Sexy Back... Damnn I miss those days 😭
Timbaland is one of the greats. He carried his unique style through multiple decades. Aaliyah, Missy, Genuwine, Jay, Brandy, Justin,... he's got hits for days. Including two of my favorite Bjork songs.
@@exnihilo207 those are my 2 favs of her!!! I didn't know Timbaland produced those two. No wonder I loved those 2 so much, makes sense. I don't know if you have ever seen bjork live before, but I highly recommend it!!!! When i went to Coachella it was my first time and Bjork was playing on the "Main Stage" basically the biggest stage of all the other stages, so the best naturally!!!
She had a FULL Live Orchestra on the big stage......... She was a AMAZING as I remember. Loved ir
Shorten the drum length, Clubs have bad acoustics and the sound bounces around and comes back. so you shorten the drum hits so they can't linger as long. This is well known in the EDM side of music production. Deadmou5 and others have talked about this.
Bro, drums are about groove, sonics, loudness, transient shaping....
A lot beside length
@@LedgerLiner your comment is off topic, your groove and the Transient is not going to make the mix muddy in club environments.
in small environments low end carries where high end will dissipate. Keeping a longer 30Hz signal and the harmonics that it introduces, along with the reverb and the delay effect that the club venue all add will make the mix muddy.
Shorting is about the sonics and the loudness, you can create something feeling laud by other parts becoming softer. like over 30 sec you drop the volume of the mix by 5 DB when you come to the build up and drop you add the DB back in and it will sound more powerful.
When you shorten the kick to less then 500 MS it makes space and will make your kicks sound like they hit harder and louder but they are not.
headphone mastering trick, most headphones don't have low end so if you take a sine wave of the first 2 harmonics of the the low end and add them in your brain will add in the root note, so you can make the headphones seam like they have low end even when they don't.
But again the reason the mix sounded muddy was the there was not enough decay on low end and it lingered to long in the club making the mix sound muddy, the fix is to shorten the kicks to 500ms or less
@@NZENZN Look at the wave for before and after timberland did the change. the Wave form don't lie
Tim makes beats the best of anyone, he can literally make any kind of style and then he has his own style. he's truly one of a kind
Because Timbaland is one of the Masters/Goat of beats and music producing!! 🙌🏼👏🏼
LMAOOOOOOO Timbaland is a wild boy for that 😂 “Beatin around the bush. You should’ve come straight to the source” 😭🤣
@@NicolasSoul right! 🤣 at that point you just gotta accept defeat 🤣 You’re right man, you got it 🤣
Owning your to your own mistake and not shying away from it is the act of self respect. Big ups kanye
When Timbaland and Danja get together on anything, you know the beat is going to be 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
That's respect and props to Timbaland for being humble to help ye out
There’s a actual video of this of Ye & Tim working on the song.. Tim thought the beat was fine but Ye insisted it wasn’t and Tim said “F it” and did his magic
I go back and watch this ALL the time lol it’s classic how fast he did it 😂
Recognition of one's talents is absolute respect
Ye got that lesson instead of getting cocky …big ups to him for that
Dr.Dre and Timbaland 🔥 on the tracks
Sonically Dr.Dre is the best producer ever but creativly it's Timbaland
hands down and twice on Sunday
@@ARSENICKMUSIC Or for those who listen to hip hop, Madlib, J Dilla and The Alchemist are leagues above Dre and Timbaland.
I mean, I love both producers, but they make music for the mainstream, for fairweather fans to listen to on the radio.
@@andyc6542 they are not leagues above lol they re just diffe with their own style. And Alchemist is more of a sample master than producer so relax
@@416RG So what - sampling isn't credible?! It's not like Timbaland doesn't use samples either..
@@ARSENICKMUSIC Dr dre is nowhere near the best producer ever. Plain pat, timbaland, travis, pharrell, dot da genius, pierre, kanye and lots of other people are better producers
Just went back in time for 15mins to hear all this again
Timbaland had the knowledge that can only be obtained through years of experience
Timbaland did Aaliyah. That in and of itself makes him the greatest ever
You gotta love timb'z.. 5 minutes, 5... no one should have that kind of power.
In all honesty, it's not all that difficult to achieve that sorta kick in 5 minutes.
"If you can't beat them, join them"
i like it when he just talks about the process of making his music
This is why him and Timbaland should've done an album together
Nah, when you see the upfront charges, sample clearance numbers, service fees and everything else that comes with Timbaland doing your whole project, you change your mind on that real quick. Album budgets aren't what they used to be.
The footage of that session is classic 🔥
This is how someone who rests completely calm inside of himself, speaks. .
Also graduation by kanye is a top tier album very meaningful songs
Tim got dat bounce
"Nobody could of done it except me!!!" Only Tim 🤣🤣🤣
Tim drums always hit different. They are so clean.
Timbaland had the Midas touch, not surprised this happened.
Celebrity crushes definitely hit different when your a celebrity
For real cause it’s not just fantasy but reality. They are so far removed from fans that we don’t think of it but they move in the same circles or could.
Timbaland is a beast, I love Kanye’s honesty about this! 🔥
Timbaland is awesome and Ye is too for giving him the proper cred so candidly
I love that about Kanye West he's honest and give people their flowers that's dope
I miss the old Kanye.
@@JapaneseIrishman Yeah he's literally always been the same, real G Kanye. People just mad now cause he points out the tiny hats in the room.
“Sexyback” has a claim to the best pop song of the 2000s. That song slaps to this day
This is the only thing i love to hear him talk about. Music.
Been getting back onto these twos albums. It was a great time for music
Only real Hip-Hop fans will understand how influential Timbaland really was for the game during that 2006-2010 period 💯
Love that when Ye is in his creative bag it’s all about art and zero ego
This is one of the most normal and humble versions of Kayne I’ve ever seen
What Timbaland did to the Apologize beat from OneRepublic was top notch!
It was a pop song. Personally feel he lost a lot of credibility when he ditched his trademark production style to make music for the pop charts but what can you do..
Very humble of Ye. Timbaland knows he’s a legend and rightfully so.
Timbaland ain’t not joke. Much props
Competition can bring out the best in both
Timbaland is indeed the GOAT.
I LOVE Stronger
Timboooooo 🔥🔥🔥 Props to Kanye for recognising..
GOAT recognises GOAT
This is why Ye is the 🐐
“Timbo the King” 🗣️🗣️🗣️
My man is honest. He still in the industry but away from the evil
Everyone a goat now.
😂😂😂 Ye was fuming inside but laughing at the same time
Ye is always willing to give acknowledgement to anyone who influenced a song. I think there was a delivery guy who dropped something off, wearing his black leather pants, bam, dude gets writing credits
A wise doctor used to say "Fuck Jermaine, he don't belong speaking mine or Timbaland's name".
Timbaland is a Genius
That song still motivates
👑 TIMBALAND
Amazing how when you listen to Kanye West when he’s not being taunted, pushed, etc (so, the way most of us get to feel most of the time, normal) he sounds like one of the most intelligent, thought-out, and well-spoken people in the entire industry. Makes you think about the Kanye we’re being fed in mainstream media.
Darkchild is so underrated
Seriously. His list of bangers is long even if no one has him in that conversation.
Timbaland with justin and nelly furtado back then were something else
I'm so grateful I got to witness this as it happened on a youtube clip back then. Whoever uploaded those studio session videos, you probably influenced a generation though obliviously.
From that video, I literally remember hearing timberland saying, "The snare and 808 can't both be phat. They can both have attack but the snare has to cut through the mix." Weird way to discover your career but whoever you are, thanks man.
I like he’s honesty. 😂😂😂😂😂
People sleep on Timbaland. He’s that other part of the late 90’s/early 00’s club sound not from Bad Boy or Neptunes.
“Other part”?
Excuse me? Tim is without question the greatest producer of all time.
Literally no one is sleeping on Timbaland. If it’s anyone then it’s The Neptunes that are somewhat unknown to the masses.
Why compete with each other and make nothing when we can work together and make something. FACTS
The drumming on "Stronger" is ridiculous
Thats dope. I love hearing about the creative processes.
I loooooooove timbaland im a 30yr old mom now but .. im sorry gotta blast his music up in the am to get me through the day w a positive upbeat attitude hahaha
