    You may not want to rely on the vertical pantry sheets to support (even temporarily) the loft weight which causes them to bow, thinking that you will correct that bowing with the shelf supports later. Once you start placing items on your shelves and they bow, they will no longer support the verticals by spanning the gap required to conform them vertically plumb. Eventually, your shelves and the vertical panels will show they are warping/warped and something will end up being out of square.

      Yes super great spot! Our lovely neighbours let me build on there land but the house will be moving down the road a bit so won’t have quite the same view 😊

    nice job and you gave me some ideas for my house
    thank you
    I realized that I could put my conv/micro oven in it and my portable dishwasher and still have plenty of room for pantry.
    thank you deb in vermont

    I LOVE THE DESIGN BUT THOSE STAIRS COULD USE REINFORCEMENTS OVER TIME. 👌🖤💪🏽✅🤓

    Love, love, love this design! You are so talented and your depth on the cabinets is perfect! How wide did you go on each of the wardrobe cabinets?

    • @georgia-raeflack3259
      @georgia-raeflack3259  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much! They are about 35cm wide so a little narrower than that inside the cupboard, which meant I had to get children’s coat hangers, which work fine for me haha but something to think about. The depth of each step is also 35cm which is a bit steep to be honest but I didn’t want to built out too far with too many steps 😊

    Awesome! Did you use structural plywood? Do you know if the stairs could have been made with anything thinner than 18 mm?

    • @georgia-raeflack3259
      @georgia-raeflack3259  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is non structural for the stairs and cabinets :) you probably could do thinner because of the double up I’ve got because of the design :)

    • @algallego
      @algallego 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@georgia-raeflack3259 It would be best to go no thinner than 3/4" plywood; you may find, based on the load they'll be bearing you can get away with 1/2" plywood, but you have a greater chance of sagging that can occur.

    Great video! What did you use to frame your loft? Did you frame it while you were doing the wall framing or add it after the electric/plumbing/etc.?

    • @georgia-raeflack3259
      @georgia-raeflack3259  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I just used framing timber for the loft. I framed it after the house was waterproof (roof and cladding on). And before all the wiring and plumbing 😊

    don't the stairs need more support?

    • @georgia-raeflack3259
      @georgia-raeflack3259  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      So far so good 👌🏽 it’s 18mm ply, pretty sturdy

    • @winonagumshoe388
      @winonagumshoe388 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm questioning the same thing. I think at a minimum they should have support peices in each of the inside corners. She is little so that might be okay for a bit but if anyone has to use them that is a big sturdier they will be toast

    I love what you did here! I'm mid-build and next step is the stairs. I'm going to copy a little of what you did for mine! What is the width of each box you made? I know the depth is 600mm and the height varies. Just wondering what you went with :)

    • @georgia-raeflack3259
      @georgia-raeflack3259  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey thanks! The width is 350mm. I had to get children’s coat hangers to hang my clothes haha so keep that in mind if you do this width. Kids coat hangers are fine to use for my adult clothes though 😂 the step height is quite large so if you’ve got the space, I would recommend having more stairs so that each step isn’t so high, if you know what I mean

    • @georgia-raeflack3259
      @georgia-raeflack3259  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      hey there, I've got some small timber beading to hide any gaps. At this stage I'll just be leaving the plywood, I may or may not put a wee stair runner on them. I'll just see how i like them once i move in

    Can you share the measurements for each box please 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

    • @georgia-raeflack3259
      @georgia-raeflack3259  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there! the smallest box measures 350mm wide x 350 high x 600mm deep. From there each box height increases 350mm. To get these measurements I figured out how many boxes i wanted and divided the height of the loft by the amount of boxes to get a height measurement. 350mm between each step is quite a big step though so if you have the space, i would recommend adding an extra step so its not such a steep step. I hope this is helpful and not too confusing haha.

    even diy'n it you can do a lil research and build better . . . those boxes need proper framing so they support your weight going up and down the stair top . . . most items you buy will have a 'load' or 'sheer' rating on them . . . i really hate when people who clearly have the resources and means don't do due diligence then waste more time and energy putting out dangerous videos of them doing half assed stupid things . . . don't be one of those people, spend a minute looking at what you are going to do heck even reach out to other YTers or professionals in the area you plan on attempting, no excuse in modern times to put out such a half assed video showing off reckless and dangerous practices and methods resulting in sketchy construction.
