    Best review video on TH-cam by far. Thank you for a great video. Just purchased the SE 2019 model and looking forward to using very soon.

      Hi Neil Thank you very much for your comment, I think this is a cracking tourer and would like to see another layout added such as a centre washroom bunks at rear. Hope you enjoy the 304 let me know how you get on always interested to hear thank you for watching the channel and praise of the video.

    Thanks Andrew much appreciated we were looking at the 586 but i have a Mondeo 1.8 2007 and i think its just a bit too light.... disappointed as that would be my first choice. thanks again though and will look forward to the review of the 586

      MTPLM OF 586 IS 1370 KGS would have thought you may just be in cars limits - but you would be close which is a shame - look out for the 586 review coming V soon!

    Hi Andrew another great review this seems to be a popular caravan for 1st time buyers do you think this would be comfortable for a family of 3 on a 2 week holiday with the addition of an awning?

    • @caravanindustryexpertandyjenk
      @caravanindustryexpertandyjenk  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Thank you - yes an awning would be really ideal, plus it would be quick to put up to with the van being small. The 304 is a great little tourer and should be eay to sell on again after. I am looking at a Xplore 586 just needs vid editing ! Thanks again for contacting me

    This looks good. Looking for a small tourer for 2 + dog and occasional 3rd person and can't decide what to go for doesn't help that can't view any at present. Usually we go out and about walking / cycling and often have wet gear to dry out. The van that seemed great was the Eriba 542, which had a fixed bed, but to match the equipment on this van it would be extra and i dont think an oven is possible, making it very expensive though used a possibility. So current likely candidates are 304 or a Basecamp 4 unless you have any other ideas. One suggestion for your future videos it would be good to have a quick view inside the lockers under the seats and front outside locker and outdoor access hatches. Viewers could then have an idea if awning and water carriers and other carvaning could be stowed away easily. Also i have never seen a dining table extracted and put into position. No one seems to do videos showing these things or if they do its minimal.

      Hi Geoff - thank you for your comments - taken on board! I try and keep vids to around 16 mins long but I think your right i will show more locker storage. Basecamp 4 is a good option ort Xplore 304 - both will re sell on well. Eribas have a cult following a bit like VW if you like - costly but do retain good values too. The 304 is light and comes with decent spec too the Basecamp also is available with rear large awning ideal for drying off wet clothes and a dog! I say when allowed take a close look at these two tourers and compare notes, The Basecamp is more expensive but has after a few years gained a good following even having their own owners club! Keep me informed on your choice-thanks again!

      @@caravanindustryexpertandyjenk hi Andrew, only mention about lockers as i went to see a potential new van last summer. I was sure it was the one for us. Then i found that an electric cable was about the only thing that would fit into the side locker from outside as rest of hatch was taken up by spare wheel. To make matters worse the table was stored on the base of the locker, so if anything was put in the locker it would to be removed to access the table. The other locker had no external access but most of the space was used by hot water tank, battery and associated electrics and it was all rather messy. This particular van had no front locker.

    Your review of the 304 and the Sprte Alpine 2 have been really helpful. Leaning towards the 304 as have a 1200 kg towing capacity and a narrow gate. Is it worth buying new rather than pre owned? Tempting to save a little but 3 year manufacturers warranty and 10 year water ingress warranty appealing. Would be our first new van having owned present 1992 Elddis Wisp 404/4 since 2009. Good to have your thoughts.

      great van is the 304 as was the 302 two berth version. I had a new Wisp in 1991 a 450CT great van. I would go for new but waiting for one may be a problem. Used they get snapped up quickly - if you buy used check for any cracks in front and rear molded panels plus spongy floor by kitchen area especially on older models. Whitford Caravans at Burnley is a good dealership and they do a special price to. Thanks for you kind comment to on reviews. Let me know how you get on.

      @@caravanindustryexpertandyjenk Thanks Andrew for your quick reply. Almost feeling that should avoid buying this year because the market has been turned on its head for both new and used. We started with a marauder 450ct in 1991 before inheriting the Wisp in 2009. Both were incredibly robust and no leaks. As such we've been spoilt so used does appeal but the issues you raised are concerning. Have those issues been resolved and Is there a year to look from. Also how valuable is the warranty given that cracks in the end and front panels appear to be excluded after the first year? Finally could I expect a good dealer to put those issues right if excluded by Elddis warranty ? Sorry for so many questions but it's great to get the opinion of an expert insider of so many years

      @@andrewlawrenson6512 my first new van was a 1987 marauder 400ct great van and robust as you say!
      Those issues aren’t on every tourer of Elddis things are improving one dealer told me the 2021 models had less niggles but early models have of course wear and tear in them but a good dealer could sort out
      Look out for dealer specials in the xplores to offering extra kit for not much extra cash
      It’s like anything I can have exact same car as you and I have problems yours is brilliant
      Caravans are still put together by humans so errors creep in. All vans have their problems over the years no matter just do checks and you should be ok most of the time hope this helps
