Sure hope you do many more on-the-water videos. I’ve fly fished for 40 yrs, but I always learn something new from you and your team. And what incredible water at your doorstep! Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Yes please. I'll have a Chiquita rump shaker with my snake bite. On the rocks 🤘🏼🍌🤘🏼 great job Johnny, talking Kelly into some action cam videos! Keep them coming.
I use my right hand (dominant hand) to hold the rod and my left hand to strip the line and turn the reel!! This has been my go to method for over 40 years … two flys about 2 feet apart, Muddler style for or similar on the point and wet on the dropper! Usually catch lots! However I am not too old to learn new tricks! Will incorporate some rod action as you suggested! Thanks!
Had Jonny guide us several yet back. He worked his butt off for us and we learned much of what u see Kelly doing in this video. More on the water stuff Team slide
Never thought about switching up flavors of Gatorade to be more productive streamer fishing , I guess I’ll have to start . The Dungeons has to be one of the best streamers ever , yellow , olive , white and black my favorites . Really can’t wait for some hi dirty water , CU on the river this spring. Thanks for sharing.
Great help from a couple really good guys -had the good fortune of fishing the Madison this year but i n opposite low clear conditions also hit the shop to stock up on streamers from these legends ! Please keep these great videos coming many of us only get a few chances to ever have an experience like this
Streamers of Consciousness: Two guys in a boat talk trash and streamer tactics, miss strikes, and occasionally catch big fish. (or) Not Their First Streamer Fishing Rodeo (or) From the Back of the Boat: Real world, real water streamer fishing Well, the water was a bit off-color, hence the odd-ball titles. Video was a great complement to Kelly's presentations. I appreciate how "real water" it was, no great hushed-voice drama or hucksterism. Just two highly experience guys who've known each other a long time going down the river. A refreshing alternative to a nearly everything else in fly fishing.
Thank you for the additional information. I appreciate the insight and tips; never taken a float trip; also don't streamer fish... Might change after watching this series.
He stuck every dang cast exactly where he wanted, super-tight on the bank and smack dab in the kill zone. Every. Friggin. Time. All while rippin down fast water. Kids, this is phenomenal display of skill. Thanks for the excellent video!
Enjoyed seating in the rear of boat and learning how you guys figured out the days bite and dailing in the right decisions to catch trout. Thanks for links to more information about Skwala waders. The pair you have on has lower lumbar back brace built into them. Any thoughts on this feature?
At 23:50 you can see a trout chasing his fly at the end of the retrieve while he says he can't believe that nothing did chase his fly from that pocket :D
Really appreciate this insight and instruction. I need to learn to strip and retrieve like that. I can sorta tie the flies with one hand, but fishing them is another story, lol.
Sigh...keep trying to convert me to "the dark side" and streamer fishing! 😂 Your euro trash hippie friend from Phoenix. P.S. you were right...I did love trout spey. So perhaps streamer will be my next geek out! 🤓
Lol anyone who tries fishing a streamer aggressively the way he says you need to for big browns … they’d instantly know you need a sinking or a sinktip so ur shit isn’t on surface lol it’s not about dredging bottom 😂 this isn’t winter steelheading
Streamer fishing, in my humble opinion, in the early fall when the younglings are just the right size and the big ones come looking for them, is always found to be some little imitation non articulated. Those big fish move on them like a bitch.
Hi, me again, your advanced streamer fishing video changed my life, thank you for that. The water being so dirty I think a slower retrieve would work best because the fish can’t eat what it can’t see. And what happened to the strip set sir? I know you love that side rip and it’s sexy to watch too and also have you ever let a fish run before? Like lol.
Do you have any advice for streamer fishing? I've fished streamers over 40 days this year and I haven't hooked a single brown. I get 15-20 follows per float but none of them commit. I'm changing fly color, size, and profile every 10 minutes, I'm varying my retrieves, and I'm doing everything Kelly Galloup recommends. In addition, the rivers I'm fishing have no pressure and 1400 browns per mile. I'm driving myself nuts trying to figure out what they want. They'll just follow the fly 35 feet and then disappear. I've also tried speeding the fly up when they start following but they instantly turn away. Is it normal to go a year without catching a fish on a streamer?

I don't feel so bad now Kelly misses fish too. Keep the good stuff coming guys.
Thanks for teaching Kelly . Every fly fisherman that knows anything intermediate has learned a trick or two from you. The mentor!
This was good stuff men. Like to see more like this, maybe even some wade fishing with streamers
The video production is insane. Keep up the good work!

“Yesterday is not today, and 3 hours from now is not gonna be right now”
Kelly is a legend
Great stuff guys. Can learn a lot by seeing you actually fishing. Please keep them coming.

I hope you do more of these. Outstanding! Thanks for sharing.

This was an awesome style video. Informative and entertaining at the same time.
So awesome ! Thanks guys! Keep ‘em coming!
"You don't snag fish in streamer fishing. They can eat it or they can wear it." 😂❤ Johnny with the fastball to close us out.
The commentary was perfect. Feel the fly. Mix up the retrieve. Change flies if you're not moving fish. Fish those softer buckets or lose flies
Total pleasure to watch pros work great water, love these vids!
Great video guys. Feel like I’m in the boat with you. Love when they are hammering the bright stuff.
I'm definitely guilty of sticking to what worked yesterday.. Thanks for all the tips and quality fishing content.

Another cracking video Kelly 👌 love your no nonsense advice but chest waders in a boat ????

A guide and a boat... that's luxury
I kept missing my hook sets the other day and was feeling terrible. It’s good to know even Kelly misses hook ups.
Looking forward to episode 2
Been using a bowline knot for years. Any size loop, no fails except my own. Damn it
This should be a network show like a Babe Winkleman type program back in the day.
Man thats some great content right there.
A possible name: "Fishy Galore with Kelly Galloup and Johnny". It seems in step with your naming conventions.
Great video
Curious how many pound drop anchor in that kind of current to stop/ hold the boat? Thanks
That’s a 35 lb Green Anchor we were using

Very nice
Great video. I like "Wet Oars" for a name. :)
I think Johnny bought every brown twill cotton Slide Inn hat ever produced.
Thanks for the video Kelly. What rod were you using?
Echo Streamer X 7 wt
I thought all fishermen handled fish with a wetted, and preferably cooled, hand... Rgr
Really enjoyed this you should name the series "eat it or where it"
11:44 As far as I can tell from your description, this is a Homer Rhode loop knot.
yessss finally!!!!!
Hello - can I ask what month this was? Guessing late May/early June tailend of runoff? Thanks
Early June
Great. Thank you. Loving the videos! Very educational and fun.
I love it from Sweden 🤝 😀
Pulling the String with Johnnie and Kelly ... S1E1 - Kelly's got Yellow Fever
Cool thanks 👍👍
BTW, All thanks !
Yeah, I love eagle, taists like Spotted Owl.
I came for the streamers, I stayed for the shit talking.
I believe the knot that Kelly used for the Dungeon is the non-slip mono knot invented by, who else?, Lefty Kreh.
Also known as the Rapala knot. Rgr

Need to sharpen hooks, 5 dropped fish so far
Jerk Strippers! with Kelly and Johnny. May up the view counts with the clickbait series name from an unintentional audience.
More of this
Current drift series.
Montana/Madison Meat Slinging
Going to in English.
