Headwound Harry

This male is one that I call Headwound Harry (after an old Saturday Night Live skit). It's taking him a very long time to recover from his injuries from a wicked fight. I think he has a concussion because he's been sick to his stomach but he seems to be getting better. In the last few days his appetite seems better and his mood has improved. Apparently, most raccoons only live about two years in the wild. They obviously feel safe and happy on my deck and I don't mind them being there. They're not hurting anything. They just sleep and eat. They don't bother my cats. They just hang out and they have a latrine in one spot. They're actually clean if they're allowed to be. Like pigs, they only wallow in dirt and mud out of necessity. Some humans do that. Ever look at photos of homes for sale? There isn't a huge leap from animal to human.

I don't know. I'm guessing it was a fight but I don't know for sure. He just showed up like that.
