Beginner fisherman here, What are some tips for fishing for good tasting fish, like rods and reel, stuff like that? I do not plan to eat more than one, I love fishing so I don't want to dwindle the populations. I just want to experience it and then catch and release:)
VA/NC along with most of the east coast has tons of great fish for harvesting. Flounder, sheepshead, speckle trout, puppy drum, tog, and more are all great eating fish in our area that are easily accessible by kayak and some from the bank/shore for these inshore species. For tackle some only use cut/live bait rigs and others use a mix of that and artificial. Soft plastic paddle tails, curly tails, and jerk shads are big here along with hard twitch baits! Some species require more specific targeting and tackle to catch em and others you can target multiple in the same location on the same equipment. If you’re in the Virginia North Carolina area stop on into one of our three locations and our staff would be happy to rig you up with a set up that’ll get you on some fish! We have locations in Virginia Beach, Cape Charles, and our NC location in Nags head.
@@markwilliams5574 mahi will require going offshore. Charter boats out of VA/OBX offer the great results for those with less experience or lack of a boat when wanting to target the offshore species. Red drum is definitely more accessible to small boats, kayaks, etc. with smaller puppy drum and larger bull drum as seen in the video being present In the areas bays, coastal waterways, and off the oceanfront. Hope this helps. *Speaking fairly generically as not sure your vessel capabilities.
According to the IGFA (International Fish and Game Association), “it is perfectly legal to fish with a drone in the United States only if the line detaches from the drone once a fish is hooked. That said we purely use the drone to acquire footage of these fish from above not to physically catch them! The spectacle of these big fish schooling on the surface is something truly special. Many people use drones to drop baits, and assist in spotting fish such as drum, cobia and many other species when conditions are difficult. Just make sure to follow FAA guidelines and check your airspace! Hope this helps! Happy Fishing/Flying!

Nice. Thanks for the information. 🤙
How far off the beach are you guys? I'm trying to get some of this action from my kayak
about a mile or so off but sometimes more. It varies based on where the drum are being chased by the boats haha!
@@OceansEast nice thanks, that's in my current comfort zone gonna have to give it a go
