I have the same exact problem whenever I wear a cap. I'll put in on straight, then 10 mins. later it'll be crooked. It's one of life's big mysteries...
Here in Virginia we call them Red Drum if they're over 25 inches, they're puppy drum if they're less than 18". If they're on a menu, that's when you call them Redfish. Redfish are delicious! Red Drum received "slot fish" designation several years back and as a result, they're getting huge now and the population is really coming back. Only 2 years ago the record catch was only 49". I know this because I caught one from land that was 48" long where the Piankatank empties into the Chesapeake. Once Red Drum become breeders and end up outside the slot size, they don't really taste very good, so I'm glad they're off the menu. They get gamey.
Nah, those are okay to call redfish. 18-25" is on the menu. You're crazy if you throw those back because they're delicious and it's what you came fishing for. I confess, I still call them red drum in just about any size. There are different kinds of drum. Red Drum, Black Drum, Croaker... yes, croaker are Drum fish. The "Drum" designation comes from a biological and genetic communication mechanism that they all share. They make sounds underwater to communicate. The Red Drum and Black Drum you catch won't tell you a thing when you catch them. They're highly-trained, ocean-hardened and act like they can't talk. Fill a cooler with Croaker, though... and those little bastards won't shut up. They sit there going "croak croak croak... I'm a croaker! My name's CROAKER!" Croaker taste exactly like redfish (the legal sized red drum), but each fillet is only a fish stick. So delicious it's worth the work, though.
Oh hi Mike! Heck yeah, I got it bad. It's really my favorite thing. If it paid better, I might re-consider all the work I do in IT and buy rain gear. I don't get to do fish anywhere near enough, all I ever do is sit around making TH-cam videos. You guys would hate me if I turned Jafromobile into a fishing channel. Big respect to BlacktipH!
this is my favorite video to date. as a huge redfisherman in the tampa area, i never knew either that they grew to the size of small military vehicles. That was incredible. it has me fired up for a week of fishing in louisiana for redfish at the end of the month now. my next destination will have to be there. thank you for this !
Man those were some monster redfish, in all the years we charter fished for those, I think the largest we caught was around 42lbs and that was an unreal monster for Mississippi. I can't believe those are 35-40 average.
🎵Tuesday, Tuesday, Tuesday!!!🎵 Best day of the week! Awesome video, Josh! I would love to spend a day on a boat with you and one of these awesome captains you work with! It would be a highlight of my life, for sure. Problem I'd have (other than getting there, as I'm in a wheelchair most of the time) would be deciding what I'd want to watch you catch... shark? grouper? red fish? cobia? hmmmm - I'd probably have to put them all in a hat and draw one, cuz I sure couldn't decide! Take care and thanks for the videos! Heather🇨🇦
I live here in NC just south of Virginia here's a tip Josh if you want to pull out the 60 even 70 pounders use small pieces of cut mullet in 2 feet of water trust me
Wow Josh! That was insane man. Meanwhile, I am here in NC trying to catch any kind of Red I can no matter the size. I finally caught my first Speckled Trout last evening and I was so excited! Nice vid man!!
BigBearFishing yeah me and my friend have a boat that we take out to some of our secret spots and catch tons. Some of the spots are so secret anymore as fishing guides have found them.😂
Are you fishing the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel in Virginia? I'm trying to figure out what bridge you're next to, as I'm from Virginia but live in Colorado currently. Great channel content Josh!
Josh is there any chance next year when I come to Florida we could go fishing I love fishing but here in Michigan the biggest this are pike and I really need some bigger fish to my list
You should revive those fish for a little while. I don’t know about there but here in NC if you don’t let them get some energy back up the bull sharks will kill them because they’re worn out from fighting.
Check the wind in October if you get a hard wind out of the northeast nags head fishing pier and the likes on the NC coast will hit triple digits in about one night of fishing my pb is 47” it gets crazy just bring a heaver with 6-10 ounces and spot heads they love spot heads for some reason👍👍👍
They go farther north than that I caught a 45in surf fishing. Josh we have one of the best surf runs anywhere for red drum. Imagine fighting one of those giiiiiiiiaaaaaannnnnttttttttasssss from the beach. Way more intense than in a boat
Josh, I am right there with you with the crooked hats 😂! Glad to know there’s someone else out there with it haha
Will Keen same I look in the mirror and see that my hat is crooked but it feels right!!🧢
That one you lost was massive. World record redfish I bet
Will kee
I have the same exact problem whenever I wear a cap. I'll put in on straight, then 10 mins. later it'll be crooked. It's one of life's big mysteries...
Hat only feels right when its crooked!
Anyone else literally watch everything on this channel ? Josh should have his own TV show
Yep. Did that a month or two ago when I found the channel.

Simply Active “keeping it reel” that’s my dads boat name lol😂😂
DiZz Fire Great name. My girlfriends dad is going to buy a boat soon. His name's Tom so I told him to name his boat Tom's Cruise.
Samuel FlaBra lol. It must be short to be tom cruise😂
austin is the man, good vid
You're giving the 757 good press. Thanks!

You can get paid for that sometimes. Did you report it?
What about 19-24” fish? Are they unnamed?
Didn't expect to see ya here hahaha
But I guess after watching your "greenhorn" video I shoulda known you were a fisherman!

My opinion on redfish names from Florida:
1-12", rat
18-27", slot
28"+, bull
Awesome Redfish! Incredible to see the difference between the Florida and the Virginia ones. Crazy
Got to know where to fish in Florida!
I grew up catching these fish and it never gets old great video I love watching them especially when it’s out of my home port
This is going on my bucket list! I've never even been on the ocean before. Lake Erie is the closest I've gotten to fishing on open water.
Good thing putting Virginia on the map for fishing. 757. Growing up fishing off Harrison’s pier in ocean view. Brings back memories.
The first fish I can remember catching was a redfish. I was 7/8 years old and have been hooked on fishing ever since!
Mate your so close to 1mil so excited for you. Lots of love from Australia!!

I've seen them caught up to the Chesapeake bay bridge in Maryland. They were on the small side, but I was surprised. They call them puppy drum.
You should fish for them in Ponce Inlet, FL this September! People catch tons of big bulls there.
