It’s actually not other versions of themselves, it’s clones that were created by the evil organization that kidnapped them and experimented on them. I forgot all the details but the clones are trying to turn the planet into a dark world or something like that and all of exo is supposed to come together to protect it. But they don’t have everybody bc xiumin never escaped from the lab, it was actually his clone that they thought betrayed them in the Love Shot MV. So in this MV exo was defeated and the clones succeeded in taking over the world.

What you saw in the "Obsession" MV was the EXO's doppelgängers actually their alter ego clones and they were using their superpowers, such as Chanyeol with his fire power, Sehun uses his wind power to deflect the arrows and Suho controls water in the room with all the pictures of water, etc. to fight their other selves. Unfortunately,, to make it even more difficult to understand, each part of the story is not necessarily in chronological order, so we as EXO-L (EXO fans) have to become detectives and analyze every aspect of all of their teasers, MVs, song lyrics, albums, concert VCRs, choreography and even live performances and piece it all together to understand the story behind it all. I don’t follow EXO much, but I do remember them performing at the 2018 Winter Olympics and they caught my attention back in 2016 with their song called Monster. Their Monster video and the song complimented each other well. Don’t get me wrong, I like their music every now and then. And I will gladly listen to their music whenever it comes on. I think there is so much they try to do with videos to go with the music it kinda overwhelms me personally. (I actually really like D.O.’s solo work a lot. :))

Yes finally! Glad you liked it! In EXO's storyline, each member has a superpower (for example, the one you said was drowning, Suho, has the superpower water) and they come from EXOplanet. In this MV, they are fighting against their evil clones X-EXO, so the good EXO are actually the guys in black and the evil clones are the ones in the crazy colorful clothes, if that makes sense. Edit: I wanted to add that EXO is a 9 member group but in this comeback, there are only 6 members because two of them were in the military and Lay couldn't participate due to political tensions between South Korea and China.
The concept of this comeback is EXO vs X-EXO, their evil clones created by the Red Force. But in a broader interpretation, it could be read as a "mensage" to the saesangs to stay away or just a story about a toxic realtionship.

Great reaction. You pointed out a number of things I never noticed! The song is about fighting your inner demons, which is why there are two versions of each member. You can see it in the video but also the lyrics. The black outfits are the good version and the colorful ones are bad. The way I interpret it, at the very end when they’re dressed in black the bad inside of them reaches up and snaps their own necks. The very last thing we see is their bad versions. Bad won.

A little help with the history of the guys to see more clear the video🤓 First of all, the basic concept is that they are from another planet (EXOplanet) and all them have super power, most of the videos in each era show us what is happening with them living here fighting against the red force, the ones who want to kill them. In one era of the old videos (Lucky one and Monster), the red force catches them and experiments with them. In this, the obsession era, we learn that they were cloned and the red force are using their clones to hunt them down and kill them, thats why you see two version of each member fighting "with them self". And u can see in the lyrics that say almost at the end, "One night, what I saw in the darkness; Was the strange shadow that chased me after; The turned-on exit light; Is me looking at myself in the mirror", the moment when they realize that it is a clone that is chasing them, and at the end of the dance, kill them. In the hole video all the guys show his powers and the red is everywere cuz the clones are part of the red force so they are there, and if u look the progression of all his videos, u can see the red more and more in them. The concept of Obsession is actually about EXO and their "counterpart" X-EXO. In Suho's part, (the water paintings and reflection) it reflects his powers, he is in charge of water (In EXO, they have powers as their concept since day one). I don’t follow EXO much, but I do remember them performing at the 2018 Winter Olympics and they caught my attention back in 2016 with their song called Monster. Their Monster video and the song complimented each other well. Don’t get me wrong, I like their music every now and then. And I will gladly listen to their music whenever it comes on. I think there is so much they try to do with videos to go with the music it kinda overwhelms me personally. (I actually really like D.O.’s solo work a lot. :))

Edit: I wanted to add that EXO is a 9 member group but in this comeback, there are only 6 members because two of them were in the military and Lay couldn't participate due to political tensions between South Korea and China.

The song is about fighting your inner demons, which is why there are two versions of each member. You can see it in the video but also the lyrics. The black outfits are the good version and the colorful ones are bad. The way I interpret it, at the very end when they’re dressed in black the bad inside of them reaches up and snaps their own necks. The very last thing we see is their bad versions. Bad won.
Exo has a very interesting storyline even before their debut like all members have superpower and are from different planet exoplanet and u will always see them using their powers in mv even in their dance choreography thay use power so every time u watch their video u will notice a new thing in it bcz so many things happen in exo video ... A little help with the history of the guys to see more clear the video🤓 First of all, the basic concept is that they are from another planet (EXOplanet) and all them have super power, most of the videos in each era show us what is happening with them living here fighting against the red force, the ones who want to kill them. In one era of the old videos (Lucky one and Monster), the red force catches them and experiments with them. In this, the obsession era, we learn that they were cloned and the red force are using their clones to hunt them down and kill them, thats why you see two version of each member fighting "with them self". And u can see in the lyrics that say almost at the end, "One night, what I saw in the darkness; Was the strange shadow that chased me after; The turned-on exit light; Is me looking at myself in the mirror", the moment when they realize that it is a clone that is chasing them, and at the end of the dance, kill them. In the hole video all the guys show his powers and the red is everywere cuz the clones are part of the red force so they are there, and if u look the progression of all his videos, u can see the red more and more in them.
