“Lyra..back from the dead...it’s a miracle.”
Such a great line.
The way he delivers the line so serious and yet sarcastically
How did krennic view clone troopers and order 66
Somehow Lyra returned
Krennic is legitimately the best Star Wars villain Disney has made. He would wipe the floor with every single First Order character.
Spent Lizard Rogue One is the only good Star Wars movie Disney has made.
Nah, Galius Rax, The Grand Inquisitor, Lord Momin, Doctor Aphra. They‘re all better than him
Harry Conway Good joke! That movie spit on the grave of the old eu and was a bad remake of a new hope
True
The Witch Of Tarth look at the Thrawns novels
Love how Galen uses the excuse his wife is dead to play up his "lonely life" and Krennic doesn't buy it for a second. He's like "You serious, bro? I saw your daughter running to your house on my way landing."
The only two _believable_ portrayals of this galaxy spanning empire, Rogue One and Andor. Made by many of the same people. Instead of bumbling idiots we see competent individuals like this... Hmm

What about the best line?
“from my point of view the jedi are evil”
while standing on top of lava after numerous clashes and stalemate
“You’re confusing peace with terror… [but] you have to start somewhere.” Essentially how all wars are started. Brilliant writing.
It's not that deep, man.
It's precisely that deep
It will never end.
Long live the empire
It is why one must rather sacrifice their own life rather than sacrifice freedom for safety. That safety and peace you so want is bought with brutality and terror
Remember: WE were this close to peace and security for the galaxy, people!
You know, technically, if all the people were removed from the galaxy, it would indeed become a peaceful and secure place.
And it would have been a great peace and security, that I can tell you. Such great peace and security. The best.
@@yarpen26 Empire brought down corruption and Hutt's mafia was forced back to Tatooine on which they were hiding from the imperial patrols. The mere presence of the Death Star would guarantee no rebel influence on the planets. What was the first thing the New Republic bring in first 10 years for the galaxy? The corruption. You might want to look behind nice music and grand speeches of freedom the rebel scum is usually accompanied with, without their decorations they're nothing more than terrorists who couldn't take the power through legal methods, through the democracy.
"YOUR new peace and security for the galaxy?"
Your new EMPIRE?

yoooo leokimvideo i'm a big fan
Talos: "well, you have to start somewhere"
I love how anakin/vader's aspirations (like peace/security to his new empire) echoed through the men of the empire In this film
Louis Salads Right you are, and Anakin/Vader is later seen on Mustafar talking with Krennic. Krennic tries to talk to him the same way Palps did in the prequel trilogy, however Anakin/Vader Force Chokes him saying “Don’t choke on your aspirations, Director”, showing that Vader only answers to Palpatine, Tarkin, and other Imperial officers and troops he has a good relationship with.
@@Nimzo25 Krennic was right though, responsibility for the whole fiasco and the leakage of information lies solely on Tarkin's shoulders. Krennic did his job and built the station in secrecy.
Максим Чижов Yeah, but Tarkin took over after the test proved successful. Still, before the test, Tarkin warned Krennic “If the Imperial Senate gets word of our project, countless systems will flock to the Rebellion”, and ironically, Tarkin himself does just that after the Death Star destroys Alderaan, a peace mongering planet, right after the Imperial Senate was dissolved.
The opening of the franchise starts with one of the main characters literally saying rebel held territory is "the most wretched hive of scum and villainy". And scene after scene from the first star wars to rogue one they show non-empire controlled areas as disgusting slums with poverty and filth. And people still think the empire is the bad guys. Its exactly like BLM. Los Angeles and San Francisco, or my city Portland, nasty shitholes with needles and feces and smashed store windows everywhere. And people still support BLM who are creating that, over the police.
@@tachy1801 Yes, and Bail Organa got what he deserved for secretly speaking out against Palpatine’s swagoo, trying to halt Minion production (Clones)/making peace with the Seps, and founding the Rebellion, alongside Mon Mothma. Oh, and let’s not forget the part he had in recruiting Anakin/Vader’s former Padawan in being a spy network...

@@animatedink2529 That's also Gareth Edwards' flaw as a director. His characters are very lacking in his films.

Maybe a guest-some-times appearance, if not - one of the protagonists. He was the best thing about Rogue One. Right up there with the classics imo.
You're right there - rather Krennic than Cassion
We can only hope they do
I doubt they will but god it'd be awesome. Mendelson is always so underrated and Krennic is a perfect choice for a villain protagonist.

This is why I like Rogue One and that Erso sabotaged it unknown to them. That is why one of the commanders said they MIGHT find a weakness and exploit it. I mean, they are the ones that had this thing built for nearly 20 years and you'd think that if there was such a critical weakness like the ventilation, they would already know what the weakness was to begin with. But with Rogue One, they knew that Erso did something to it, but didn't know how he did it. And this also explains that despite the fact that this is a moon sized space station, the rebels were able to quickly find out what the weakness was, because the data tapes already had not just a read out, but also what Erso did to it. So I am glad that it was due to sabotage and not some oversight.

HISHE: Galen, planning ahead, lines the entire area around his home with command-detonated mines and takes out Krennick's entire landing party, and then evacuates to a new safehouse where it takes the Empire another 10 years to find him again.
"Welp, now that I have this farm I should really start raising a family. And nothing says safety like lining my home with explosive mines when I have a small child running around. The empire will never see it coming."
"Peace and security for the galaxy" I see Krennic swallowed the Emperor's lies whole.
I don't think even he buys into that. He's just tossing out bait in the hopes Galen will bite. If you read Catalyst, the prequel to Rogue One, you come to see he's really only out for himself. He doesn't care about any agenda that doesn't benefit or further his own.

@@pilkers2 Hey I love the movie, but act 1 has a lot of talking about things off screen instead of seeing them. There is a whole conversation between Jyn and Saw about things that don't matter. as bad as it is, it's actually very true in many decisions any government makes ever.
It is also true. Especially in this case. There were many who opposed the Empire not on its own merits but simply for the fact that it was an Empire. They may not be able to make them like it but they can force them to obey through overwhelming force, terror if you will, and without dissent the Empire will prosper. The last stubborn holdouts will die while others’ minds will be changed by the order and prosperity of the Empire and then from the humble beginnings of terror there will be peace.
