yes he is...after a few minutes I wrote a comment saying that he had glossed over how to find the root key and then he explained it twice..I had to delete my comment..lol .He's great.
I really appreciate all your videos, just wanted to say thank you for what you do, for all the people that don't stop and comment, from us to you, thank you!
Great video thanks! I have just understood more about keys and scales in 12 minutes than after 2 months of piano lessons! As proud new owner/beginner on Maschine and Komplete Kontrol and also happen to have Cubase your videos are proving extremely beneficial to me learning the basics quickly and having lots of fun in the process rather than just getting frustrated and giving up like I have when I tried previously with just Cubase and plugins! Look forward to more content!
As a Maschine user and wanting to know more about music theory, this is combining it all for me. Also Jef really has the teacher gene. Thanks for the videos!
Jeff thanks very much for this very valuable easy to comprehend break down. I subscribed very early on in your tube efforts because I realised the quality and your potential and clearly my decision was a right one its gone beyond my expectations great job.
Amazing superb video, so professional! This is exactly what I needed to hear. I remember being a teenager having music lessons at school and no one ever came even close to teaching me that much in hours of mandatory class wasted on learning to write some Sol key music note and learn to read scale on that 6 line thing that just bored the hell out of me... Seriously, you are an amazing music teacher and the Maschine is a super fun way learn music theory! Best 12 minutes intro music theory ever. Thank you very much and please keep making lots of them brilliant music theory video tutorials :-)
this has been super helpful, Im gonna try tomorrow playing around with the things I learned thus far from your videos. hope you make more videos with the maschine ! one of the best tutorials Ive found yet.
Jef the way you explain music theory reminds me of my days in music school god that was like 20 years ago, when my teacher did music theory about scales and instead of being Canadian he was Dutch close enough thou 😀 as always great vid for producers and engineers that want to get into it before committing to years at school or just doing it at home. They way you explain the transition between classic notes with major and minor to a modern equipment like mk3. Every body needs to know the fundamentals of music theory the simple or advanced.
Awesome video as always! Your production value is just muaah! I love how your videos look! I could just be impatient, but may I request an intermediate to advanced level tutorial? I would really like to see some more complex Maschine vids just because I know the endless potential of this thang and your explanations are dope!
As always Jef, you give the best instruction on Maschine that I have seen. I love your setup and the coloring is fantastic. Also is that a Classic Casio Calculator watch?
@@jefgibbons only had the MK3 for a few weeks and your videos have really helped. Your synthesizer beginner tutorial was amazing. First actual video that made me realise the steps to sound design at the base level. Thank you very much.
That's a tough one Robin... If you have a beat going in a key already, and you drop in a sample... the best way would be to click the sample, press that Plug-in button, click right to page 2, and turn up the tune button 1 semitone at a time until it just feels right! The times it will be wrong is if your song is minor, but the sample has a few notes that would only fit in a major key. But otherwise that should work!
Really wish to have custom chords options with maschine - where i can choose some notes and then save it to pad and again and again. After all i have bank of chords to spice up my songs and projects. I know that maschine have some collection of chords under "custom chords" option but to be honest thats not fun where somebody choose something for you haha. I want create my own banks. :D
Couldn't agree more! It would be amazing to make custom banks, then I could make recommendations and people could really start enhancing their tunes with sweet jazzy chords... Hopefully it comes soon!
Just curious as to whether the CHORDS button that you went over is only on newer models? I don't see anything similar on my Studio 2. Any advice is greatly appreciated!
The King of All Maschine Tutorials is BACK! Thanks again, Jef.
Ahh man, that means a lot! Thanks!
@@jefgibbons Sir , I'll pay a fair price for the Juno
Jeff himself is a Maschine 💪🏼
Thank you for explaining this so clearly. Great content as always.

wow, thank you ☺️
Great video bro! Keep it up! Greetings from México city
Thanks! I gotta get down there some time!
this is great,
Great video! Just wondering if you have any tips to get the key out of a sample without having your trained ears? :)

Hi Jef, thanks again for this nice introduction into Music Theory. I have one question, what is the stand/platform you have your machine in?
Thanks! I put a link in the description for the case, go check it out!
Thanks again :D
Hey Jeff love the videos, but what is that funky sixties looking thing on top of your speaker?looks like an 8 track?
old school Casio calc watch,,,, nice
thanks, jef.

Hi are you able to do online class for machine mk3 ?
Link for part 1? I can't find it!!
Cool Jef 😎I’m learning something new Ni get jef a orange Mk3 he a great teacher 👨🏫
Just curious as to whether the CHORDS button that you went over is only on newer models? I don't see anything similar on my Studio 2. Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Noob question. What are your thoughts on drum kits and being in key?
I rarely worry about pitching my drums to the key of the song! My music tends to float outside of keys here and there so it would work against me…
hey jeff, where can i get that desk?
He has a clip that explains his set-up; its a piece of wood where he added 4 legs and made custom casings for his pre-amps.
First :) Nice Videos Jef. Thanks
Thanks for watching!
