reason why they probably was made in reverse, hobbit is 300+ pages only , LOTR from the start was thousands of pages, before they cut everthing down, from the start, LOTR was over 9000 pages that was cutdown to 3 seperate books, and each book containted 2 volumes. there is not enouth material from the hobbit book, to make 3 movies like they did with lotr. so they filled the hobbit movies with stupid fking long fight scenes instead, so because of the success of LOTR, they most likely fought it was a good idea to make another 2-3+ movies about the hobbit, just to get some fking money. for real, the hobbit book should never ever be made as 3 movies thats hours long. i can finnish the hobbit book on 1 day if i want to
If you wonder why Gandalf seems to always turn up and help people but only when it's going to be their last chance. The wizards were sent to advise and inspire the people of middle earth, not lead or fight their battles for them so. Gandalf kind of passively saves the day when it is needed lol.
Also the Wizards or Istari, they also are the Maia (or Maiar) or Lesser Ainur. They are like Angelic beings that were apart of the first creations of Ea at the beginning of Time.
Dragons in literature and many fantasy sources, always coveted gold and treasure. They love gold, they guard it, they sleep in it, and this brings food easily to them as well. Basically heroes and adventurers that want the gold. No other reason really. This is basically it. Its in their nature. Lots of writers have of course expanded on this even more, but that's the gist of it.
Which is also why it is featured heavily in Dungeons and Dragons for example, partially because of dragon folklore, but I'd say it's mainly because Tolkien made it very explicit and Tolkien's works such as The Lord of the Rings, shaped modern fantasy. Obviously unbeknownst to Tolkien himself at the time, since it hadn't happened yet, but he'd probably be surprised to see how much have been made unrelated to his works that still came into existence because of him. Not as much poetry, granted, as he'd probably have wanted, but there are a lot of good fantasy stuff thanks to Tolkien.
I just discovered your channel due to LOTR and I binged watched all the videos.. just realized you guys never finished The Hobbit and now I’m sad, the movies get a lot of hate but they are truly good. LOTR is really at such an untouchable level that is quite hard to compete with.
@9:41 this scene was invented for the movie and serves as the "nudge" Gandalf mentions to Frodo during their first scene in The Fellowship of the Ring. "If you're referring to the business with the dragon, I was barely involved. All I did was give your uncle a little nudge out of the door." In the book, The Hobbit, Gandalf literally did nudge Bilbo out the door to catch up with the dwarves. When they were busy adapting the book into screenplay form, they decided to have Gandalf give Bilbo a metaphorical nudge instead so that Bilbo then makes up his own mind to go after the dwarves the next morning. A stronger character moment for him.
Unfortunately these movies were initially being made by a completely different director - so by the time Peter Jackson was brought on board, there just wasn't enough time for them to make the movies with the same amount of hands on effort. The Hobbit is also written as a children's book - so it is a lot more playful and fun, there are songs everywhere in the books, and is honestly just a good laugh. There are a lot of liberties taken in these movies, but they are fun - as a Tolkien fan I still enjoy watching them. And I think Martin Freeman is just fantastic as Bilbo. The story really is about Bilbo's perspective of going on this adventure - so though the plot is helping the dwarves take back their homeland, it's also about how a Hobbit went on an adventure (there and back again), and with the same dogged stubborn courage that Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin had - somehow they don't look for adventure, but they're good at it when persuaded to go on one
I really don't like how they inflated the original story to make three movies, one can tell by the added dialogues that they are not even close to the quality Tolkien would have accepted. Also, the balance is heavily shifted towards more CGI and less practical effects, which does not make them more comfortable to watch, and many of the characters seem flat and forgettable. Martin Freeman is definitely the saving grace of the movies. He is so relatable that it does not take a big fellowship of outstanding characters to make the viewer enjoy this adventure from a personal perspective.
@@captbunnykiller1.0 Yeah, they couldve just made one or two movies and not have added weird lovestories, cgi barrel battles, Legolas etc, but aside from those parts i feel like it really sticks to the book quite well. Ever since i was a kid and read the book, i loved the hobbit, so if i have to endure a bit of cgi and unexpected romance, im fine with that being the price for having this story come to life
Why? Its a good trilogy.Too much unnecessary hate. Its very rare for sequels to be as good as original. In my opinion, It didn't need to be 3 films, too much CGI (understanding studio interference and time constraints), pointless romance, too many character changes. Otherwise I love it.
Thank you for this comment!! I barely just started, but if they haven't finished the trilogy and seemed to have given up on it, I'm not going to finish this video, geez. Stopping now, thanks for the save! They need to watch the whole trilogy ugh
Some points: You're watching the theatrical edition. The extended edition has more material, including in the introduction. And the goblin king sings a welcome song when the dwarves first arrive in goblin town. The songs are in the books also. Bilbo and frodo are part took, like pippen. The took part is more adventurous and bold than regular hobbits. Gandalf explicitly appealed to bilbo's took side, and it was the took side that made him run out the door. The goblin king recognized thorin's elvish sword as "the goblin cleaver". That's when he ordered them killed. He also recognized gandalf's elvish sword as "the foe hammer". One of these dwarves is gimli's dad. Also, the old grey bearded dwarf, the 2nd to arrive at bilbo's house, is the one at whose coffin gimli cried. In the fellowship of the ring, bilbo told the hobbit kids about the trolls trying to decide how to cook them. And in the extended edition, sam points out the stone trolls are still there, but frodo is sick from being stabbed. You said the riddle game wasn't in the story that we heard. But in the fellowship of the ring, after gandalf almost touches the ring, he sits down by the fireplace. One of the things he mumbles to himself is "riddles in the dark". You complained about a lack of backstory of gollum here. But bilbo has zero knowledge of gollum. He knows nothing of him other than what he is seeing here. Frodo had backstory, from bilbo and gandalf. It was gandalf who told him that smeagol used to be a river hobbit.
20:49 if you remember back in The Fellowship of The Ring, after Frodo got stabbed by the Nazgul, they went to the forest and saw three trolls that turned to stone. Those are the same trolls :) Bilbo was also telling the story of it to the children during the party scene on his birthday.
I have seen this film reacted to by at least 40 or 50 channels. EVERYONE has a reaction video to it, but you two are out of this world! MOST people dont remember the details from previous scenes and they ALWAYS ask the same questions at the same spots. You two actually remember what you saw 20 minutes ago. Your quick to pick up on story changes and you were actually able to figure stuff out most people don’t understand till they’ve seen it a couple of times. Thank you for letting us watch it with you. I hope you two like the next one. You two are good fans for the movies. 🙂👍🙂👍
But that's what you said about their reaction to their LotR reaction. Are you just regurgitating what you say about everything they react to as if it is always the first time you say it? That's very bot-like behavior. And they are NOT alone in remembering the important details. I have seen others who have done the same who are also good reactors.
Oh and if you recall from LotR, two or three of the dwarves here were the dwarves found dead in Moria. Saruman didn’t begin evil. It was jealousy. When they arrived in middle earth (the wizards) Gandalf was given one of the elven rings of power, not Saruman despite Saruman being the white wizard. Then Galadriel wanted to from a group to watch over middle earth and she wanted Gandalf to lead it but he declined so it went to Saruman, it’s a lot of jealousy
The only reason that The Hobbit movies are getting hate is because they're not on the level of The Lord of The Rings, but each Hobbit movie were the best movies in the year that they came out, so on their own, they're really good movies.
I think the hobbit movies are fun. not the same overall quality/feeling as LOTR but i think they're still fun. The Hobbit was much, much shorter and kid friendly so I think the movies didn't need to be as lofty as the LOTR trilogy.
Which I thought was the same for the books too. The Hobbit book felt very different from The Lord of The Rings books, and The Hobbit is a children's book, and I feel that this movie captured that children's book feeling really well. I don't get why the haters of this movie - sadly most of them are LOTR fans, hate this movie because it doesn't feel like LOTR. It's not supposed to be feel like LOTR.
THIS. The people who hate these movies just make me sad. They are farther departures from the books than the LOTR movies were, and they certainly have a different mood and feel, but they are good movies nonetheless
Unfortunately, they tried to make the Hobbit movies as lofty as LOTR. That`s why there are three of them, why they bloated up action scenes and especially the battle of the five armies, and so on. But at the same time they tried to include a childish slapstick humor, which unfortunately is not funny very often, and which doesn`t work with their intention to make the Hobbit just as epic as LOTR. In the end, we got movies which wants to be both, a lofty epic and a funny children`s story at the same time, but ends up being neither. It`s a real shame.
That's a good advise when the hater is wrong... BUT! It's not hate because I don't hate these movies actually. The Hobbit is a book I've read when I was 17 in an evening. There was no need for a trilogy man. A 2, or maximum 3 hours movie would be enough. And, of course, Peter Jackson adds toooooooooo much, just as he did in The Lord Of The Rings. This trilogy is just a money maker.
@@oskarobit this wasn't jackson's fault but the studios. he wasn't happy either and neither were many of the people who worked on them. check out lindsey ellis' investigation on it
I actually really liked them. When you read the book, the movies are actually really accurate. The only annoying things are the ones that were added on top, to make it into a trilogy, like the lovestory between the elf and fili (or kili lol), but aside from that, they are pretty spot on.
Not you wanting to pepper spray everyone. I just recently discovered you guys on one of your GoT reactions. And I must say thanks for the genuine reactions. I can tell you guys are really watching the movie because you are picking up things I didnt notice until my 2 time watching. Great reaction.
In the Hobbit book it's mentioned many times that because Hobbits are so small and quiet on their feet it's easy for them to slip out of groups if they aren't paying specific attention.
In the extended edition we see that Bilbo and Gandalf did know each other. Bilbo was six years old and was hitting the wizard with a wooden sword at one if his grandfather's birthday parties
The overall journey of the Hobbit is indeed its own story. In fact the original book had no ties to a larger narrative that would later become the Lord of the Rings. Tolkien only came back to the ring after a sequel was requested and he then proceeded to connect his already previously established lore (Simarilian) so that it could tie into the Hobbit’s events. But they are very much self contained stories. The ring is the furthest the ties really go. The movie of the Hobbit attempts to tie things more which mostly works but the original story of the book was very self contained. Hobbit is the appetizer whereas lord of the rings is dinner. One flows into the other but they’re not entirely the exact same meal.
It's The Silmarillion btw(although I guess Silmarillion for short is also fine), not Silmarillian. Although maybe you just misspelled. Not meant to be rude or condescending or anything. Just trying to help. I agree with what you said. The Hobbit can definitely be seen as the appetizer, while The Lord of the Rings can be seen as the dinner. I like that analogy.
@@Khornedevotee do not apologize for correcting my spelling lol it is owed it’s respect and proper attention. I should’ve corrected myself because seeing it now makes me gasp at my carelessness.
@@Drewgantka_97 Aah, I’m glad you appreciated it. In honesty, your misspelling is not the end of the world. I understood your meaning, and that’s what’s important, even though the correct spelling is technically how one should write it. I myself am truly bothered when I make misspellings and find out in hindsight haha. I instantly correct such mistakes. I never expect or demand others to have correct grammar but I definitely give pointers in case they might care, but I don’t push it in case I get annoying.
You guys may have never seen it but the actor who plays this Bilbo was the British office “Jim” character (don’t think the names were the same but can’t recall) and he also played Watson in Sherlock with Benedict Cumberbatch (doctor strange) which is an AMAZING SHOW. Also, the actor is hilarious, there are clips of him from interviews and he makes everyone laugh especially Ricky Gervais who was in the office with him
Sherlock pisses me off. They stopped production because the two had other jobs, but where are they? They haven't done enough to warrant not filming more Sherlock.
The two actors in Sherlock are cool and the first season is good, the rest of the show tho? I don't know what happened. There's good parts and the writers went a little crazy in others. Especially with the ending episode. I know that everyone has their own taste but even if you are a fan I recommend you watch the hbomberguy video essay about the show, and Sherlock Holmes in general. The part where he explained the fan base of the show made a theory that there would be a hidden final episode, or even another season, because they couldn't cope that that was the real ending of the show is hilarious.
You have to remember The Hobbit was written as a children’s story in a sense. In fact, Tolkien came up with it while telling bed time stories to his children. Obviously we know the expansive story and universe that came from The Hobbit but this first part of the overall story is far more fantastic and goofy. It’s not nearly as dark or serious as the LOTR books and as much as people talk shit on Peter Jackson’s Hobbit movies, he does a wonderful job of capturing that whimsical more child like wonder that The Hobbit was supposed to convey.
Bilbo's mother, Belladonna Took, was the last hobbit that went on a journey, before Bilbo. That's why Gandalf drags Bilbo into the journey, he remembers young Bilbo wanted to be like his mom and his Took cousins, who also trended to go off on adventures.
Sorry for so many separate comments but it helps the algorithm. Sauron had a master named Morgoth/Melkor (he was basically Lucifer, an angel who betrayed god). Anywhere Sauron built his bases or Morgoth existed the land basically was corrupted and evil things would happen. So just the presence of them having been there sort of corrupts the land. Most was lost when the content of Beleriand was destroyed during the war of powers but some still existed so those lands would attract evil things. Dol Guldor is one of the fortresses of Sauron so it’s naturally evil and that was the witch king. And when they say Ungoliant, Ungoliant was this gigantic creature that took the shape of a spider, far far bigger then Shelob. The offspring of Ungoliant is Shelob and also other large spiders
Forgot to say she grew so large that even Melkor feared he greed for the Simirils, He tricked her by giving her the crown and kept the jewels. Yet, she eventually took them from Melkor and caused her to become so large that she was trapped. Melkor retreated to his fortress and eventually unleashed Ancilagon the Black there. The Eagles and a single elf defeated the dragon and the weight of the dragon slew caused the destruction of the fortress, which Gandalf becomes trapped in the Hobbit movie at.
I can't belive you guys never continued the Hobbit series. The second movie is the best one too. You just have to keep in mind the Hobbit is a different story than the original series. Give the second movie a chance at least!
Hobbits or halflings were regarded has very stealthy, great at hiding and stealing things, Has a character class, the hobbits skills were the afore, just as a elf can see a long way etc
Yeah I always took it as each race Iluvatar created he instilled specific traits but I read he realized he had meddled too much, especially with the elves, so man were made with free will, essentially they could be craftsmen or farmers or scholars or whatever rather then dwarves are miners and craftsman, elves are wise and fair, hobbits value home and food
In the book, Azog had been killed, and it was his son Bolg who sought revenge against the Dwarves. For dramatic purposes, Peter Jackson decided that Azog was still alive.
I'm really excited for you guys to see the next two but especially this next one (The Desolation of Smaug) i think you'll enjoy it, and i know you'll love the characters you meet in this next one and the more connections to Lotr.
Y’all are both right. The Hobbit movies are before the events of LOTR but they only cameo the ring. The focus isn’t on Sauron’s return & the One Ring in the same way. Not directly. It’s an indirect chess game move by Gandalf (winning Erabor back). The adventures of Bilbo include dwarves bc (like Bilbo narrated in the beginning), Hobbits don’t go on adventures- they lead pretty boring lives typically.
Please are you gonna continue with the rest of the movies? Please dooooo! Don’t forget to watch the extended edition for the next 2 ones pls you get much more insight of the story
Quite right! Just to add a little, this as just after Frodo is stabbed. He's not doing well, and Sam tries to cheer him up by saying something like "Look Mr Frodo, it's Mr Bilbo's trolls". Hard to see the trolls, they're in the background and it's dark... but a lovely tie point nonetheless. ALSO - enjoying the reaction tremendously!
I get it that they didn't go back to the other 2 films. They weren't really needed regarding setting up the plot for the Lord of the Rings". There was some confusion about the style of the film? It was based on a short children's book Tolkien wrote. Later Lord of the Rings written as a very long and in depth three book trilogy. How can the two things be compared? The Hobbit" was filmed after Lord of the Rings".
Guys! my girl and I went out last night and kept the soda pops going…lol just for the riddle scene.we are in tears 😭 loll thanks for the laughs seriously lol
I watched all your LOTR reacts and was curious about how you felt about The Hobbit, but you never finished the series. I do hope you come back and do next film. It starts to really tell Bilbo's story.
A LOT of artistic license was taken with these three films, but they are great. These films were made AFTER the LotR trilogy because the rights to the book was so hard to get. Initially, Guillermo Del Toro was supposed to direct with Peter Jackson producing, but it worked out with PJ directing which was meant to happen all along. 🙂
45:18 The Istari (5 wizards - Saruman, Gandalf, Radagast and two 2 blue wizards) aka the Maiar (immortal divine spirits of lower order, disguised as old men, basically angels) where sent by the Valar (higher order angelic beings, basically arcangels), after the first fall of Sauron (when Isildur cut the one ring from Sauron's hand, as shown at the beginning of Fellowship of the Ring movie) to guide and advise all the races of Middle Earth, to keep the peace, harmony and balance as much as possible, but they were tasked to do it, by using as little of their actual immense magical ability as possible, because otherwise the races of Middle Earth would be tempted to accept them as rulers and overlords (much like Sauron, who initally was also a Maiar, like the 5 wizards), and not as guides and advisers, as they were meant to be and sent as, by the Valar. The objective was, that with the guiding help of the wizards, the races of Middle Earth choose themselves to be good, and not because the wizards any way force them to be. 50:17 THAT's why Gandalf doesn't use magic unless he absolutely has to, because otherwise there would be no challenge aka growth and progress within and between the races of Middle Earth, if he just magic-ed away all the difficulties, WHICH is EXACTLY what Saruman ended up doing, and through that, he corrupted himself and his purpose, for what he was sent to Middle Earth for, and as a result fell into ruin for. 🙂
The r reason dragon love gold is because it is a soft metal and therefore it is the only bedding they can sleep in that will not burn up. The is a 180s cartoon movie called Flight of the Dragons that explains it well..
ya gotta go into this trilogy looking at it as a story being told by bilbo from the book he wrote where the LOTR films are happening real time. that way certain parts like the singing or humorous ones, troll or river barbell scenes; etc are just bilbo embellishing parts as one does when writing a book or telling a group of people a story. it helps me at least rationalize the subpar moments when comparing the two trilogies.
Loved the reaction guys, and your post-discussion too. I gotta say that I agree with Sophie that the exposition in this movie wasn't as great as The Lord of The Rings, but Mair is also right that this is a totally - almost separate story from The Lord of The Rings, and the only major thing that really connects the two franchise is Bilbo finding the ring. This is all about Bilbo's adventures, which was alluded to a lot in The Lord of The Rings with lines like "If you're talking about the incident with the dragon, I was barely involved" -Gandalf, "I think I'm ready for another adventure" -Bilbo, etc. I hope you react to the extended editions for the next two movies. They're much better!
Great Reaction guys, You were right about Saruman , he craved total power but was not totally corrupted by Sauron and the seeing stone at this point in the story. Gandolf says “simple acts of kindness and love “ give courage , and love does conquers all, that s what he sees in the hobbits. Take care
Gandalf is there as a guide. Something is on the rise and as a wizard he is on a journey too but knows he is there to guide those in middle earth to do what is right and good. If you notice, he only guides them and helps but each character has to decide to do good and right. Sure Gandalf could have just done this or that but that is not why he is there every must play their part as part of their journey to become part of a bigger thing to destroy evil.
In dungeons and dragons in general dragons love to hoard treasure ..especially red or gold dragons enjoy their gold! It feels good to them as well like a cat
Hey guys, stumbled across your channel couple days ago and been binging the Lord the the rings series and finishd your reaction to the Hobbit today. You (and 2 other reaction channels) are awesome and the only ones who are really trying to look beneath the „fantasy stuff“ layer and try to understand the complexity of the story. Also your discussions about the characters motives and choices is really spot on. Are you guys planning to continue the Hobbit trilogy? If its because of the „hate“ in the comments, just ignore these fools.
I wonder if a reboot would work if it leaned into the goofy anime tropy-ness of all the power of friendship and deus ex machina (a legit kid ethos, rather than trying to recapture the LOTR flavor like this and Amazon's RoP). edit: because Hobbit is a legit kids book, with little in common with LOTR's tone. Literally, the elves sing "tra-la-la" instead of "Mithrandir, Mithrandir, A Randir Vithren"
@mair&sophie Hi guys.. did you folks ever do reactions to the last 2 movies.. or did you decide not to, or did you get delayed form watching them because of your GOT reactions? Just curious (I for one would love to see your reactions to the next 2. Oh.. and my recommendation is to watch the extended edition for the last 2 if you've not yet.
It’s not “they”, it’s JR. Tolkien who wrote Lotr and everything about Middle Earth as they are all based on bis books. The content of the Hobbit was took place before what happened in Lotr. Silmarillion is my favorite which has not been made into a movie yet, which tells the story of how Middle Earth came to be, and mostly about the elves, men and dwarves before the 3rd age which is where the Hobbit and Lotr takes place…
The book is definitely 10x better than this trilogy and that’s mainly cause the book is only 300 pages long and is more of a fun, wayyy less epic story than Lord of the Rings. They added a lot of fluff from other titles of J R R Tolkien’s Middle Earth series and for some reason cut out quite a few parts from the book. It’s a very weird mix. But these are still an enjoyable watch imo Edit: and not to mention the random new characters they added for some reason that weren’t in any of the books
Mair is right, the Hobbit is its onw story. despite its connection to the lord of the rings story.. There are many independent stories in the legendarium that bares connection, but they are their own stories.
The problem is because The Hobbit came after LOTR and not before. If it was before people would have loved it more. It's called expectations vs reality. I don't create expectations with sequels, side stories, etc.
I don’t hate this film at all. The difference is LotR was obviously longer and had more content. But also the film was mostly practical for LotR which is why it looks so amazing and the hobbit was a LOT more CGI. So it’s a shorter book stretched to three films and CGI.
To be fair nothing can come close to the lotr trilogy, the dark story there, is simply the best thing Tolkien has wrote in terms of being the best source material to adapt into movies/series. However you can have some fun hours with the Hobbit Trilogy. Its watchable at least but not recommended for book fans or true/hardcore cinephiles in general, if I can sum it up in a fair way. It certainly could be made in a better way, but compared to modern action films from the last decade? Its actually better in many ways. However you need to take into account that this was simply one single kid's book and a short one at that. So its way lighter than other stories. They overstretched that book as well adding all sorts of stuff that wasn't there. So yeah. It is what it is. It can be fun. Its also quite hollywoodish.
Those who don't recommend are hardcore book fan and hardcore nerd that complain about added scene like the barrel scene as if it was a bad scene at all
Bilbo sharing how he got the ring was one of the stories he hated the most so he didn't tell he got into a riddle game with a gollum. And the reason smaug attacked the dwarven kingdom was because of the rumor he heard of how much gold they possessed and dragons love gold which they are very greedy.
@1:00… the book The Hobbit was written first before The Lord of the Rings, but the films were made in the reverse.

Thank you for this comment!! I barely just started, but if they haven't finished the trilogy and seemed to have given up on it, I'm not going to finish this video, geez. Stopping now, thanks for the save! They need to watch the whole trilogy ugh
Some points:
You're watching the theatrical edition.
What i wonder is why do trolls talk and turn to stone in the hobbit but not lotr
When they watched Fellowship they didn't see the trolls in the woods, that's an Extended Edition and they watched Theatrical version for Fellowship.
I love how most intense is Mair , but always saying to Sophie...to calm down...when she is cool 🤣🤣🤣
"how are you gonna kill a dragon though" easier than you'd think but harder than you'd hope
50 channels?? that's nuts
But that's what you said about their reaction to their LotR reaction. Are you just regurgitating what you say about everything they react to as if it is always the first time you say it? That's very bot-like behavior. And they are NOT alone in remembering the important details. I have seen others who have done the same who are also good reactors.

I’m glad you’re having fun on TH-cam.
👍🙂❤️
Oh and if you recall from LotR, two or three of the dwarves here were the dwarves found dead in Moria. Saruman didn’t begin evil. It was jealousy. When they arrived in middle earth (the wizards) Gandalf was given one of the elven rings of power, not Saruman despite Saruman being the white wizard. Then Galadriel wanted to from a group to watch over middle earth and she wanted Gandalf to lead it but he declined so it went to Saruman, it’s a lot of jealousy
Exactly, three dwarves. Balin remains in his grave, Ori's corpse holds the book of Mazarbul, and Óin was captured by the Watcher in the Water.
The only reason that The Hobbit movies are getting hate is because they're not on the level of The Lord of The Rings, but each Hobbit movie were the best movies in the year that they came out, so on their own, they're really good movies.
No, they are bad
Nah they were amazing@@cegesh1459
@@cegesh1459how, you literally cannot give me reasons
@@cegesh1459 That's just your opinion man.
It's not supposed to be feel like LOTR.
agree the hobbit trilogy is just fine, think it served it's purpose and people have been asking for years for it so why not
I agree. My complaint is not the tone, it's the bloat.
Of course, watching The Hobbit is highly recommended. Guys are haters for nothing.Don't pay attention to the haters
Ohhhh I forgot about the wtf handsome dwarfs... Poor Peter.

I dont, there great
I actually really liked them. When you read the book, the movies are actually really accurate. The only annoying things are the ones that were added on top, to make it into a trilogy, like the lovestory between the elf and fili (or kili lol), but aside from that, they are pretty spot on.
@20:33 Bilbo was telling this story to the children at his party in LOTR 1. Then they passed by the statues when they were traveling with Aragorn.
Not you wanting to pepper spray everyone. I just recently discovered you guys on one of your GoT reactions. And I must say thanks for the genuine reactions. I can tell you guys are really watching the movie because you are picking up things I didnt notice until my 2 time watching. Great reaction.
I like living alone and I don't even keep an extra chair for company to sit on. That way they don't stay too long.
Do the Extended of all 3 Hobbits. Don't listen to people, it's a great movie.
The thing is, the people who hate the Hobbit movies are still going to watch this video lol
The LoTR movies were made before The Hobbit Movies, but the book The Hobbit was written by Tolkien first.
Is this gonna continue?
Lmaoooo cuz a big part of me took that as “well, he’s crazy” and that’s all but I promise he’s so much crazier
You guys may have never seen it but the actor who plays this Bilbo was the British office “Jim” character (don’t think the names were the same but can’t recall) and he also played Watson in Sherlock with Benedict Cumberbatch (doctor strange) which is an AMAZING SHOW. Also, the actor is hilarious, there are clips of him from interviews and he makes everyone laugh especially Ricky Gervais who was in the office with him
Sherlock is easily top 5 best shows ever written for me
Sherlock pisses me off.
Why didn't y'all watch the rest of this he movies? Did you not enjoy it?
@@jerem442 And didn’t Ungoliant consume itself in the end for its desire for power?
@@jerem442 It is Ancalagon the Black btw, not Ancilagon. Maybe you already knew though and just misspelled. Otherwise you are right.
I can't belive you guys never continued the Hobbit series. The second movie is the best one too. You just have to keep in mind the Hobbit is a different story than the original series. Give the second movie a chance at least!
Can't believe yall havnt came back to the 2nd one yet .... the last 2 are soooo good
Hey you guys. Did yall react to the other two movies? Cant seem to find them on Yt.
Hi guys love you guys channel.....I hope you watch the rest of the hobbit films!!!!
Great analysis and reaction❤😊Some don’t appreciate this set of films, but I love them. Hope you continue this set.
I'm really excited for you guys to see the next two but especially this next one (The Desolation of Smaug) i think you'll enjoy it, and i know you'll love the characters you meet in this next one and the more connections to Lotr.
They never reacted to the next two unfortunately. Kinda weird.
The part between Gollum and Billbo was in the book and when I read the book before movie it was funny so I'm glad they kept that part.
Please are you gonna continue with the rest of the movies? Please dooooo! Don’t forget to watch the extended edition for the next 2 ones pls you get much more insight of the story
Will you continue with the rest of the trilogy? Your reactions are cool.
Glad to see the reactin of this one. Cant wait the other parts.
If you remember when Frodo got stabbed for the 1st time they were at the same place with those Trolls in stone
Where are the other two Hobbit movies?
I get it that they didn't go back to the other 2 films. They weren't really needed regarding setting up the plot for the Lord of the Rings". There was some confusion about the style of the film? It was based on a short children's book Tolkien wrote. Later Lord of the Rings written as a very long and in depth three book trilogy. How can the two things be compared? The Hobbit" was filmed after Lord of the Rings".

Haha, great use of 'let him cook'
Guys! my girl and I went out last night and kept the soda pops going…lol just for the riddle scene.we are in tears 😭 loll thanks for the laughs seriously lol
I watched all your LOTR reacts and was curious about how you felt about The Hobbit, but you never finished the series. I do hope you come back and do next film. It starts to really tell Bilbo's story.
i don't know why i f*cking love your content
Many Tolkien fans were big mad that the Hobbit movies aren't all that faithful to the book. They're still pretty good movies though.
They could sleep on lead.
I really like this trilogy as a prequel to LOTR.
Y’all are delightful. Thank you so much.😊
guys you're knee deep into middle earth you might as well finish off this whole trilogy
Great debate and analysis at the end!
ya gotta go into this trilogy looking at it as a story being told by bilbo from the book he wrote where the LOTR films are happening real time. that way certain parts like the singing or humorous ones, troll or river barbell scenes; etc are just bilbo embellishing parts as one does when writing a book or telling a group of people a story. it helps me at least rationalize the subpar moments when comparing the two trilogies.
When are you finishing the hobbit
Please do the rest of them!!
Next The Hobbit Extended Edition Of The Desolation Of Smaug Extended Edition
Take care
8 months and still no part 2? 🥲
Loved your argument at the end! Great reaction guys!
Pleaasseeeeeee go on with part 2 and 3. Love your reactions sooo much❤.
I feel conflicted about this trilogy however I did name my car after Thorin Oakenshield ❣️
In dungeons and dragons in general dragons love to hoard treasure ..especially red or gold dragons enjoy their gold! It feels good to them as well like a cat
WHERE IS THE 2 OTHERS MOVIES?
Looking forward to this one guys . Enjoy it .
No Mair. They didn't make the movie The Hobbit before LOTR. The original book was written and takes place before the events in LOTR.
It’s not “they”, it’s JR. Tolkien who wrote Lotr and everything about Middle Earth as they are all based on bis books. The content of the Hobbit was took place before what happened in Lotr. Silmarillion is my
favorite which has not been made into a movie yet, which tells the story of how Middle Earth came to be, and mostly about the elves, men and dwarves before the 3rd age which is where the Hobbit and Lotr takes place…
These movies are actually awesome, if not for the mind blowing perfection of the LOTR movies, these adaptions wouldn’t get so much hate
Love the details about the trolls..remember bilbo was telling the story to children in the beginning of the lotr.
Didn't react to the second and third one? Unlucky I guess, loved the reactions!
But these are still an enjoyable watch imo
Edit: and not to mention the random new characters they added for some reason that weren’t in any of the books
Mair is right, the Hobbit is its onw story. despite its connection to the lord of the rings story.. There are many independent stories in the legendarium that bares connection, but they are their own stories.
Love Balin, the grey haired dwarf. All wisdom, patience and class.
I was going to subscribe to your channel. But since you failed to finish the trilogy of the Hobbit I can't trust y'all to complete any other series.
Did you watch and react to The Hobbit The Desolation of Smaug? I've been looking everywhere and can't find it. If so please send me a link, thanks.
Where is the part 2 😍😍😍
The problem is because The Hobbit came after LOTR and not before. If it was before people would have loved it more. It's called expectations vs reality.
I don't create expectations with sequels, side stories, etc.
I don’t hate this film at all. The difference is LotR was obviously longer and had more content. But also the film was mostly practical for LotR which is why it looks so amazing and the hobbit was a LOT more CGI. So it’s a shorter book stretched to three films and CGI.
hello ten months in and still waiting for part 2
where is the reaction to the other two films??
Pls finish this series.. its good
The eagles are demigods btw, it was explains how they don’t help all the time. They are above the human realm and choose when they show up.
Exsqueeze me where is the next upload of the extended next movie… I subscribe in hopes of a continuation
In lord of the rings the fellowship they go by those trolls turned to stone. It’s really cool how they tied it in
