I find one thing he said incredibly profound. "It's harder to find a problem worth solving than it is to solve that problem." Zuckerberg, I admire you, and I probably could never do what you've done. But social media? That's the problem you wanted to solve?
Andrew Cisneros well, can’t blame Zucc for that. Everybody has a choice. Over a year ago, as I was looking into my phone batterie usage stats, I saw that on average I spent over half an hour on instagram per day. Thought that was too much time wasted and deleted the app. It’s been gone since.
Hello-- I am from Turkey---I have a question-----What does mean Computer Science major or Psychology major ---What does ''major'' mean in the sentence...Thanks
I get so sick of these people worth billions, and do barely anything of value. Why don't you go over to Fukushima, and solve that problem.... if you are the genius you like to have everyone believe you to be? What? You've got some excuse for why you can't take all those billions and solve the Fukushima problem? What? Not your expertise? LOL. I think I just proved my point. I have the passion to solve the problem, just don't have the funds to fly in planes around the globe to usher up support for letting world leaders know that Fukushima is the priority (contrary to those who like to stick their head in the sand). I just don't have any respect for individuals who have all the means to solve all the worlds problems, and piss their life away on petty little projects like Facebook.
Sure you think Facebook is a petty little project, 1.2 billion people who registered thinks otherwise. "A squirrel dying in front of your house may be more relevant to your interests right now than people dying in Africa." - Mark Zuckerberg Zuckerberg is a billionaire because he earned it, and can do whatever he wants to do with it. You are not a billionaire because you never earned it. This is how capitalism works, learn it or go starve in North Korea.
I agree, but you're almost as bad as they are. "If I had their money..." Well, start earning that type of money. Play the game you need to play to earn shitloads of money. If that means acting like a sociopath for a few decades to become a CEO, so be it. It's for the greater good.
Well, what he doesn't mention is that he's found a problem to solve and at the sime time, an ideia that can become a business. That's the spirit of an entrepreneur. If you just go for the problem solving you are, probably, never going to be a big entrepreneur.
This is all BS. I have 20 great, worthy ideas... I will never get the billions behind me, I'm not of the 'in' group. It has nothing to do with you, but with the people who are willing to let you be the guy to do it. Face book has been a mess, from my experience, and I've never liked the way it constantly messes up my good efforts.
Do research and spend your time trying to find the people that you're trying to get in touch with. Take smaller jobs to gain more money and start signing up for internships at larger corporations. During the interviews start getting into conversations with the people who overlook you about certain ideas that you were thinking about (but don't delve into them or you might lose them) and if they end up liking it they'll call you back. Don't sit around and complain about how your being screwed by the "internet infrastructure" or how you're so smart and can't do anything. If you truly were intelligent you'd be out there figuring things out.
Zuckerberg: talks to Stanford president
Harvard: look he batraying us
😂😂
Not really. Stanford and Harvard collaborative collectively. If Zuck was at Yale...then, yeah. Betrayal.
I cant imagine how hard it would feel to those old folks having to listen to a fresh out of mother's milk kid on subject like how life works

he said he was a psychology major, didnt he?
i dont think you realize the magnitude of how an interconnected global social media affects society.

Very well said. Social media wasnt that huge until Zuck. So, to be fair, its hard to compare him to present day.
Where can we find the entire talk?
I want a Nerd Nation t-shirt too!
Does anyone have a recording of this full event? Please contact me if you know of one.
This man is psychology major but he doesn't understand that Facebook is ruining psychology of 2 billion humans. 🙄

Angry old man syndrome
I hear my phone making this sound like I've received the text message?... and I read this crap? come on people!
Try to reform the system if you hate it so much. Don't just rage on the internet. Rage is rarely productive.
hahaha I love the colour of the T-shirt. :-)

Connor Wicks All of the people who get billions in funding are of the same family line. This is how it is, period, not complaining.
you'll get no where with that thinking. It doesn't take much to get someone to back you, you just have to make someone believe in you and your idea.

no one starts off with billions of funding. lmao
😍🙏
