I have been thinking about getting this grill for a few months and have been frustrated with the lack of in depth reviews of these units on TH-cam. This has been so helpful for me- thank you! May be picking up the pro series from Lowe’s in a few weeks!
Thanks very much for a thorough walk through, it’s been really helpful. I was going to move from gas to pellet but found out that pellets aren’t great at searing steaks etc. this seems to be the solution for me!
180° is the lowest setting. Makes a lot of smoke at those low temps. P is to prime the fire box. It feeds pellets faster so it can get to desired temp quicker.
my bad! I thought you were talking about the prime button. I have not used the p-setting, but here is a website that talks about it. Looks like different speeds for the auger feed. www.smokedbbqsource.com/pit-boss-p-setting/
@@raiderdawgranch amazing thank you for you help. That article nailed it. I live in Alberta so the P feature is perfect for me. Nearly 80 degree Celsius swings.

I see lots of reviews on Lowes with people having issues with the PID controller not maintaining temp, are you having similar issues?
I don’t watch it closely. I do note it running a little hotter than set temp, but its consistent
What’s the lowest smoking temp you can achieve? What “P” setting?

@@raiderdawgranch thanks! But how do I set it to achieve 180? Obviously on the “smoke” setting, but there are many “P” options. 1-7 I believe.
