    I told my parents I found a ring that was 1,000 that I was interested in and they were like, "top cheap"... But for me, who cares if it's too cheap if I like it? Save money for the wedding or the honeymoon, you know?

    • @cantflipforship

      1000 is fine. Your parent probably grew up hearing jewelry company propaganda talking about saving 3 months salary for a ring and then if you went and did that and bought a 10k ring they would say too expensive.

      Depends on how much savings you have etc. Don't go into debt buying a ring, but don't cheap out. I think most middle class ppl who are not particularly 'materialistic' spend 5000.

      It all depends on preference, my partner and I sat down one day and said lets get married, I picked a gold cubic zirconia ring for under £100 and we did an "official" proposal for the family as they wouldnt find it as "romantic" if they knew I was aware it was happening soon. I would much rather spend that money towards the mortgage or a nice honeymoon abroad.

    Moissanite has a multicolored sparkle. Not a white light sparkle. Plus it has double refractive tiny surfaces inside. A diamond has single refractive surfaces inside. So mossanite's sparkle is blurry compared to a diamond. So the difference is actually quite obvious even to the naked eye. So don't try to use it like a diamond hack. Ppl don't all like to buy diamond engagement rings. Lots of people like rubies sapphires and emeralds. So you can simply be honest and upfront about it being moissanite and say you prefer it to diamonds(yk, because of the multicolored sparkle).

  • @MilanSinghhh
    @MilanSinghhh  2 ปีที่แล้ว +57

    Moissanite and diamond have visually similar characteristics. Moissanite commonly gets mistaken for diamond. Even experts confuse Moissanite for diamond. Moissanite and diamond are indistinguishable from each other to the naked eye.
    If you plan to purchase a moissanite ring versus a diamond ring, you can expect 50%+ savings, depending on carat size and ring settings.

      @@anonanon7497actually, diamonds are one of the most common gemstones. All gems are “rare” but diamonds are one of the least rare of them all. They are expensive because of how they are perceived to the general population through decades of clever marketing. It doesn’t help that one corporation controls 40% of the entire world’s diamond market, so they can set the prices wherever they want to. People will still keep buying them after all as they think they are the representation of perfection or marriage and everything else that people think.

    • @ruriva4931
      @ruriva4931 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The refractive index of moissanite (2.65) is actually higher than that of a diamond (2.42). Due to its higher brilliance moissanite reflects a rainbow-like effect while diamonds reflect white light. The larger the stone the more obvious the rainbow sparkle. However moissanite is not naturally colorless but in lab colorless moissanite can be created.

      Exactly I've been trying to a get a custom gold pendant made. And I've been told some of the most ridiculous stuff like like that they use a heavier gold? Or that the rendering isn't what it's gonna look like in the end? Also that it something roughly 2"by less than 1" hollow is 20grams then 14grams... oh and that 10k is $185 a gram. Sure enough saw the finished cad design and it was completely wrong and hideous. They lost all the shape distorted it made it blocky and sharp edged no detail... Just wrong wrong wrong. And they have been super aggressive the whole time constantly telling me that hollow jewelery doesn't exist and that a 10k hollow pendant would immediately bend being worn...and soo much more bs! I less than doubled the size of the original which was only 5g. And the kicker is they made me drive an hour to explain where all the extra weight came from bc the cad should show it and the manager could explain it but we don't even have the actual file in hand to view nor any cut versions where I could see inside it considering the inside makes the difference about the weight. The designer refused to change it anyway and the manager just said to explain it he makes really substantial pieces do basically every piece in her collection is shit bc of how thin it is! Basically 1000% they are banking on ignorance of customers to not question where all that weight is coming from nor know anything about jewelery and gold and when they do they get angry with you and the cad designer is showing in extra unneeded gold to make more on the design instead of making the design to the expectations of the customer. Literally they said they could make it smaller to get to the weight I expected but it would literally be smaller than the original if I agreed to that.
      That's the reality of what jewelers are like to deal with. If it saves you money it's impossible!

      Diamond hold no true value. You loose thousands soon as you buy it

    • @alexrusso6503
      @alexrusso6503 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jDot2414 just like with a car you pay more and once you take it out the door it's worth less than what you paid. It's cause you arnt just paying for the jewelry you are paying markup to keep the jeweler in business...but real diamonds do have a market value and over time do gain appreciated instead of rapidly depreciate like lab diamonds or cars. No different than gold. If the markets good your gold and diamonds are worth more or it's bad they are worth less but over time they are worth more than what they were worth when you bought it.
      The big difference is there is a limited amount of gold and diamonds but there is an unlimited unending supply of lab diamonds. That's what ensures your gold and diamonds will always be worth something unlike a lab diamond which will eventually be worth nothing even if it's flawless clear and huge.
      Better option is not buying a diamond real or fake unless you really really really just want a diamond-value aside. But if your gonna do that at least get the real thing so you don't throw all your money away.

      @@chrishifter yes they are more expensive. But in the short term and long term they will maintain if not grow in value. Compared to saving a few bucks now on lab diamonds and then being worth nothing tomorrow let alone in the future.
      So if you have to have a diamond just buy the real thing as even a smaller imperfect diamond is worth more than the largest most flawless lab diamond. It's about spending your money more wisely if you're serious about having a diamond. Otherwise save yourself tons and get diamond alternatives considering most ppl can't tell the difference between zircon, zirconia, moissante, or glass or any other kind of diamond alternative you can think of.

    • @user-yz5mn2go2d
      @user-yz5mn2go2d 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Stop spreading misinformation. Aside from their laser inscription confirming that they're lab diamonds, natural diamonds and lab diamonds are virtually indistinguishable. Your comment about natural diamonds looking clear, clean, classy, and sophisticated is purely subjective and in your mind, as you would have no way to tell them apart unless someone told you one was natural and one was lab.
      Lab diamonds ARE real diamonds, and have the exact same chemical composition as natural diamonds, but cost 70-80% less. So you have huge upfront savings right off the bat. On top of that, natural diamonds depreciate the moment you own them, just like cars. Try to sell that natural diamond back to a store and you're looking at a loss of thousands, recouping only a fraction of what you paid for it.
      The truth is, diamonds in general are a huge scam and the only true value they hold is a sentimental one. People are willing to pay crazy money for a little rock because, as a society, we've been brainwashed into it. Just like with Valentine's Day, if society didn't portray diamonds as a big deal or some grand gesture to show love and commitment, they really wouldn't be worth anything.
      Unless you or your significant other have some hang up over lab and NEED a natural for some reason, lab will be the smarter way to go. Who wants to pay more for what is essentially the same product? Lab aren't some bootleg knockoff like cubic zirconia, they're still real diamonds.
      The only difference is one was mined from the Earth, and one was created in a lab. Think of it this way--is a child who was conceived in a lab using in vitro fertilization any less real than a child who was conceived naturally? Of course not, and the same concept applies here as well.
      If anything, instead of spending more money for a smaller natural diamond of inferior quality and worse color, you could spend less money and buy a bigger lab diamond of superior quality and better color. Take that extra savings and deposit it in your bank account, invest it, or put it towards a nice vacation for the two of you. It's a no brainer.
