What a wonderful video. I had left this beautiful island of mine when I was 17. I am now living in Australia. This video brought tears in to my eyes. The other thing the train was travelling at a good speed too. Must be a young driver. What can I say? Beautiful.

This station is called Galoya junction not because its anywhere close to Gal Oya but due to that area being known as Galoya (note the difference in the names, the former being in Iginiyagala area as mentioned by Dileepa Fernando). I heard that this station was named Galoya since there is a small oya that flows close to the station named Galoya which connects to a bigger oya that carries water to/from Minneriya tank. The tank that the train passes just after the Galoya station is most probably Kaudulla tank and the forest reserve that you named as Gal Oya is most probably the Kaudulla national park forest reserve.... Nonetheless, a great video, looking forward to many more fascinating train journeys, great work 👍
I was born in this island nation, Ceylon at that time, growing up in the early 1960' the M2 Loco was new and we called them the 'blue & white' engines, steam locos were still in use! Brings back a lot of memories, 50 years past since I've left, the old railways still looks the same except for concrete sleepers and passengers boarding trains wherever the train stops that hasn'tchanged, must have some awful rail tragedies with that dangerous activity and children hanging oit of the carriages!,, Stations look a bit modernised, other wise looks like old Ceylon, nice to see
