Sounds great as it looks
Good job friend
tu trabajo es una maravilla!!! saludos

For a few years I worked with a crazy harpmaker as his somewhat erstwhile apprentice. The old man died before he could teach me enough to carry on the business in his absence and his relatives claimed all his woodworking tools, preventing me from teaching myself. This brings back all sorts of memories of sawdust filled afternoons refining a few pieces of wood into something beautiful. Thank you, and beautiful work.
The tools of a craftsman, the hands of an artist, the patience of a saint.
But oh - the music of of a sadist.
It's killing me...
😆
I feel like I'm in the Mario party loading screen from Nintendo 64...
@@st.michaelthearchangel7774 so clean, and funny, dude! I'm trying to cuss less, and use descriptive words instead, so thanks for helping, and making me laugh!

Above all else, this guy knows how to really sharpen bladed tools! It's a skill that gets little attention, but it's imperative. Thanks for the video! Also, stunning instrument. Great job, just fantastic.
i noticed his chisels were nicely polished and said "this guy knows what he's doing"
I am interested in the Card scraper.
@@dieterjosef They are from StewMac.
@@dalgguitars Yeah he was making 'light' work of some very 'hard' woods

Jerry of Rosa String Works promoted this video, and upon opening the video the first thing I saw was a guy pushing a metal Jack Plane I thought to my self thats a first on instrument making am I going to wach an Artist and a Tradesman at work? and yes you guessed it.
I'm now 73 and I still have mine, but sadly not able to use my tools now. I'm a retired Joiner and Carpenter..Thank you young man!!!
An absolute work of art!
The kind of thing that makes people gasp when you take it out of the case and makes their minds struggle to take it all in.
Simplicity, grace, elegance.
Thanks for the video.

ZERO table saw video!!! I love it.Beautiful Instrument.Bravo!
People might say that you're a fine Craftsman, coz of the guitar you built. But, I say you're a Brilliant Artiste man!!! Kudos and Cheers. Love, from Shillong.
I have never seen the complete build of an archtop before and your superbly produced video gave me a new appreciation of the archtops I own. You are a true master craftsman and artist. Beautiful instrument!

The difference between luthiers is fascinating! Very nice work. I’ll put you on my “when I can afford it” list. Keep up the great work!
Moi aussi, j’ai une liste luthier débutant et une autre lutherie. La seconde correspond à votre liste ”when I can afford it” 😊😉
@@louvi99 I don’t understand French but I’ll take it as being a positive comment
@@andrewwolfe2071 Sorry, I thought that like me, you had a button to translate into your language. I said: “I too have a beginner luthier list and another luthier. The second corresponds to your list “when I can afford it” 😊😉” Indeed, it’s positive!
@@louvi99 Here’s to many dream guitars in your future!
That sound hole design is the best I’ve ever seen. Just stunning.
One of the most beautiful guitars I have seen and heard.
I was curious where that hole was going to be used.
Nice touch with the fret markers as well.
The all-wood hinge is an additional crafty touch.
Confession:
I used a chisel ONCE for recessing the pockets for door hinges, it's a good thing my friend (a luthier) was there.
Wonderful video thank you.
Tolles Handwerk, schön, dass es noch Leute gibt, denen es das mehr an Ausgabe für handwerklich hergestellte Gitarren wert ist. Hoffentlich bleibt das auch noch lange so 👍👍
Wahre Worte!
I love how you rout the binding ledge short, then clean to perfect with your "Gavin" tool and chisel. Beautiful.
First time I've ever watched a 40-min TH-cam video. I may watch it again.
I've made five guitars but never an arch top.
This video was terrific and has inspired me to have a go...some truly excellent tips and methods. Thank you for sharing.
The sound hole on the side is very unique I've never seen a guitar like it
I know shit about woodwork. I'm not a guitarist either - I play drums. But what I feel looking at this movie can be described only in two words: delight and elation. Thank you, I'm touched by your majesty.
Man, I can't imagine how to put the strings in the tailpiece. I need to see this part!!!! . Amazing guitar buddy
Marcos Robertson, in the Last Minute you can see how they fit in the tailpiece. It looks like just putting them into the holes for the strings from behind in the slot he made. Great solution as the whole guitar is stunning.
That is easily the most beautiful acoustic guitar I've seen. I especially love the fingerboard inlays - simple, elegant and so practical. Thank you for all the effort to film that, and for sharing it.
Nice Job, it was an honor to watch you make the entire archtop. It has beautiful lines and simplicity in beauty
that reminds me of the the great ones.

i did not expect this to be so enjoyable, with the machinery being in tune with the background music and you carving to the beat of the next song, while maybe unintentional, was very fun (:
It's like a real modern take on a classic design, but still really classy. Freaking love it!
Sweet. Dig that heater for shaping wood. I found an old element for Tractor trailer/big rig drivers & mechanics to heat up oil before filling up the motor, I've used it on nonsense so far but thanks to this video I got an idea. Cool T-shirt by the W. Very cool VIDEO THANX
Man, the level of craftsmanship you handle is just mind-blowing! Great job!
I love the feel of French polish against the hand on the neck when playing, it's silky.
wow thats just pure art. I didn't realize it's 40 mnts long video. damn. GODD WORK BROTHER
I have never followed a video like this with so much attention. I was pretty much glued to the screen!. Really very well done, Congratulations on the excellent result!
Thank you!
One of the most beautiful guitar i've ever seen
Beautiful build. And the level of self confidence in handling tools... my heart skipped a few beats, when watching the hand held drilling into the fretboard. Ebony is hard and chips easily, so when I realized you hadn’t even secured the instrument properly, my eyes widened! I probably wouldn’t make that sound hole, but I’m sure it works well. I’m too traditional, I guess. Very inspirational. Will revisit many times, when I start my own project. Thanks a lot!
Beautiful build with a particularly elegant resolution of the soundhole .
Thank you, I'm glad you like it!
I didn't expect to make a guitar so sophisticated and meticulous in so many stages. You are so beautiful. I love you.
Jerry of Rosa String Works promoted this video so I watched it. Thank you. It's a beautiful guitar. I'm looking forward to the demo.
Same here
That's how I got here as well.
lol . Test sound ????
Same reason I got here! Nice build.👍
Jerry knows craftsmanship, that's for sure.
WOW. I've built a few custom electrics but I don't have the patience or tools to do something as nice as this. Good to see people with incredible skills.
Man! rarely have I seen such beautiful guitars, you are a very talented artist.
Juste magnifique !

I can't add anymore praise to your skills and artistry that hasn't already been stated in the comments. Just thank you for posting this video (and the demo) for allowing us all to see you at work.. A stunningly beautiful instrument
A thing of beauty is a joy forever. Your work is both!
Thank you for this magnificent video. I was a dealer for fine custom-built guitars and you are indeed a Master Builder.
What I see in this video is :
Skills + equpiment + experience = work of Art......
Thx 4 sharing this video, man.......

Super!!! I have never seen such an acoustic version of a guitar anywhere. The work done is enormous. Extremely precise preparation of details, bravo!!! Thanks!!! Like!!! Its amazing. 🤩👍👌💝
Really beautiful job. I am here at the recommendation of Jerry at Rosa String Works. I look forward to the demo.
Beautiful guitar. You sir, are an artist. I really like the placement of the sound hole. I've never seen anything quite like it. My grandfather was a wood worker and when I was very young I always got a kick out of him using a soft bristle toothbrush for spreading wood glue. Worked great.
I am screaming SMART, SMART when I see the neck being glued with small dowels to keep the head stock from sliding off when clamping. Man, this is guitar-build porn...
Thank you
Jerry of Rosa String Works sent me here. I am so glade he did. Simply amazing. Thank you for the video.
One of the slickest guitars I’ve ever seen man 😍 feels a litte 30’s Gangster feat 2077 future
Most impressive! Skill, dedication, patience. Where does one start.......
total work of art , nice to see that one made ,thanks
I love the beauty and simplicity of design.....and your use of hand tools impressed upon me what I've believed for a long time....there is no substitute for hand craftsmanship...power tools r indespensible for sure but a true craftsman needs his hand tools......kudos...I'm subscribing!
very impressive, mate. you should feel very proud of yourself and your creation.
Aloha, nice workmanship, I always enjoy seeing shavings come off a scraper rather than dust. We can always learn something by watching other persons methods. The finished instrument is beautiful and I look forward to having a demo. Thanks to Jerry Rosa for the heads up.
beautiful instrument ! great build just missing the sound test at the end , you should add it in your video , it would make them even more awesome!
keep up the great work of art
Awesome crafting. Respect the use of Shellac - the final touch of a master.
wow.. that's a very beautiful piece of work! really great job!
Jerry at Rosa strings. beautiful instrument, superbly crafted. Agree with others that this is a work of art. I will be back for the demo. A real treat to watch.
That was beautiful to watch.
Thanks for sharing the full build in meticulous detail.
Demo coming soon!
Cranmer Guitars hope to see a demo soon
Forza règa! Cliffhanger here cmon give us the demo
Still waiting
I would love to hear the sound of this guitar
It’s a fine guitar. Very fine. But you’re a dick for leaving this unresolved.
Very nice to see, that the patience in bending the sides paying off with no springback👍
I have built exactly the same !!
With an even better craftsmanship ! Hands down !
But then I woke up 🥺🤣
That is probably the most classy guitar I've seen. Incredible. Simply beautiful. Deeply impressed.
Is hard to hear that soundtrack for 39 minutes, but the guitar is AWESOME
Band In a Box!!...
Rogério Luís Kreischer. I totally agree! Fantastic guitar but please make the next video without soundtrack.
What if that's his musical taste?
What soundtrack? I was in a trance then entire time...
Definitely agree about the sound track
Nice result, thanks for taking us along for the ride.
computer-generated music for 40 minutes straight was worth the wait 😂🔥
this music sounds like shit
@@yvonbellemare5734 sounds straight out of a pool game for ps2
Madly satisfying.
For some reason I never thought I could do this - probably can't - but now seem to think I actually could!
Losing the music in the background would a bonus. Just the tools doing their job is more satisfying
Nice work brother. It must be an extremely satisfying ride going from flat wood to playing a guitar you made yourself.
It's a masterpiece, really. Absolutely beautiful.
The Most OCD and Dedicated Guitar Build i've ever seen on TH-cam.. even The video itself are Neat. staged every parts
I really like your use of alternative clams like the clothespins or the pencils with rubberbands, ill definitely be stealing that for future builds!
Absolutely gorgeous,......thanks for sharing'!!!!!
Well Done!
Wow!
You are such a hard-working guy!
Thank God you recorded a demo. a Demo was a must.
I cant just believe it! You made a guitar by hand alone.. man!!!!
Salut to your creativity and dedication.
How do we measure how far the frets should be on the guitar neck?
Thanks! You can use an online fret spacing calculator, but the mathematical way to figure it out is to divide the scale length by the constant of 17.817
12:32 made my stomach drop when I started seeing that hole open up!
Beguiling. A magnificent display of craftsmanship!
Hey, I saw you on r/Luthier! Great work, my friend
Thanks for stopping by!
Excellent, brilliant work and beautiful guitar is a dream. Congratulations and greetings from Uruguay
Any issues with the truss rod after you glued it?
Nope, it was completely fine. Many makers don't cover the slot at all, so it just means I wasted time
You know, this is the best guitar custom I ever see. If I could buy this world be my luck
25:40 I actually yelled.."OMG!@"
Sorry for skipping all ads. I was really into final product because your thumbnail looks damn awesome guitar.
Beautiful work. The slip at 25:41 had me cringe though
WOW!!! from Top Fret Guitar Repair in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. That's amazing work.
Beautiful guitar! Did you notch the fret tangs before your installed them? I assume you needed to as a result of that subtle binding on the fretboard. If so, what method did you employ?
Thank you! Yes, the fret tangs were notched before installation. I used a fret tang nipper from stew mac. If you're interested in seeing how I did it, go to part 9 of my archtop making series and skip to 4:40
There`s only one word for this "Wow". What an awesome piece of art. Lovely looking instrument. Personaly i prefer a satin look, but this guitar is so so beautiful. I can`t understand that there are people who give this a "Dislike". Idiots !!!!
teacher teacher Congratulations. Greetings from Colombia. Please subtitles Spanish.
I love the toothpicks to keep the headstock in line while gluing, now that's a big brain idea!
Послушать бы еще как звук🔊 у этой красотки... 👍
I have been watching recently videos like this.
As far as for now, this one is the coolest.. the design of the neck of this guitar is my favorite..
I wish we have those kind of guitar here in Tawi-tawi,
Brilliant work, the skill level is incredible, I wouldn’t be brave enough to make the first cut into that lovely wood you are using 😮!
Damn I would have watched the whole video but I couldn't take that damn music!!!!!!
Crow Step yea,,,Random chords random melodies,,,it’s sick!!!
I am determined to sit through it at this point. But yeah. Holy geebus. It's like listening to some alien elevator "music".
I was fascinated by this video... I can’t imagine the patience involved making this guitar...
Зачетный контрабас моё почтение.

Неоправданно дорогой в изготовлении и устаревшая конструкция.
From Russia with greetings.
This is probably the best ordinary. Now I dream about it)
This is a work of art !!! I think I fell in love: D
Brilliant work.......👍
But I have to say the music was annoying for me..... still great video

I think the carve you didn't know the name of is called a relief carve, but don't hold me too that! Amazing work, truly.
7:51 i can see hes hungry after all that work
Why did all of those holes make my skin crawl?! Beautiful work.
Its something called trypophobia. I get it too! Haha
@@CranmerGuitars ooh well I don't like it haha. Can't wait to hear you demo this guitar.
