Excellent American choir and wonderful Latvian music, thank you!!! Greetings from small country ESTONIA (neighbor-country of Latvia) and which is one of the biggest choralmusic country in the world! Once again: THANK YOU!
Found this after listening to your Ubi Caritas by Durufle'. Wow, I was blown away by the voices, especially the soloists! By the end of the piece I had tears in my eyes from just the beauty of the sound! Thank you so much from an Augustana alum.
O saving Victim, opening wide The gate of Heaven to us below; Our foes press hard on every side; Your aid supply; Your strength bestow. To your great name be endless praise, Immortal Godhead, One in Three. O grant us endless length of days, In our true native land with thee. Amen.
This is great!!! What an amazing sound from a smaller sized choir. I am very impressed. And your soloists are great too! Wow! Friends at ACDA just texted me and told me to check you out. I wish I could have heard you in person! Congrats!
Thanks Mareks! Your warm comments are appreciated very much. We are a relatively new choir and also love the music of Estonian composers!! We would love to tour Estonia and sing concerts there!
Sharon Paul and the University Of Oregon Chamber Singers compete in a worldwide contest there every year (but this year) and often win top prizes. We have visited Tallin, Estonia and heard their community groups sing. Wunderbar!! They sang their way to independence in the late 80s!
I am a former band/vocal director in Viborg, Mennonite, and Lennox, SD in the 50s and 60s. Theses SD kids can sing and play! I am so happy to hear of the success of the South Dakota Chorale!
now, dont know if you and your chorus would possibly come down to Tlaxcala by November and participate in choral festival held each year, Brian Schmidt ?
Still listening, thru many times this brings me peace.
